It has been two weeks since Arianna and Marcus exchanged phone numbers. They have been calling and chatting each other to know how they were fairing.
On Wednesdays and Thursdays, she took business studies and entrepreneurship, at least she was getting better at her studies. She wanted to focus mainly on her major and leave her first year in the school with a good result. Arianna paused at the door to the class of her finance class, she remembered what happened the other day with the two well-known groups. The girls obviously thought they were better than each other, one wouldn't be surprised if they were put to a test and failed with an effort. All they show and know is their money, good cars and their expensive clothes.
Arianna knew there was nothing to worry about as long as she didn't fall into any of their games or plans. She walked down the aisle towards the second row, catching the familiar sight of red and brown hair. Of course, she knew who those girls were, the ones with the group where nothing was in their heads. She sighed and took her seat, suddenly self-conscious of the eyes watching her, she was alone today since Zoey fell sick and couldn't make it to class.
She sighed again and realized she didn't have any friends apart from Zoey and the girls. She was not a social person, she knows, and she needed to work on that. Furthermore, she brought her bag down and started bringing out her notebook and pen for the day, she was always ready to take notes and few pointers in every class and for that, she was well-known by the professor.
She listened to some gossip while waiting for the professor and was able to hear one or two juicy news going on in the university, she straightened and focused when professor Kendrick strode into the lecture hall and without wasting of time since he came late; he dove right into his teaching for the day.
Arianna was always intrigued with the slightest thing, so learning new things every day is always pleasuring to her. She learned so much in that lesson than her high school business studies course, but it was somehow hard for her to concentrate with some spooky eyes on her.
She felt goosebumps on her, with her hair-raising as the eyes focused solely on her.
'Who is that?' She whispered to herself and took a side glance around, but everyone was focused on the professor's teaching, or maybe they weren't.
She was so lost in her thoughts that she lost her focus on the teaching, someone nudged her side, snapping her out of her thought.
"For this coming week, I won't be teaching much. You're to partner with the person next to you and learn about the topics you and your partner will pick, then your partner, and you would decide on who would come out to this podium I'm standing on to teach the class. If your work is good, all I need to do is just to explain more, so everyone could understand, but if it isn't, I'll just send you back to your seat with a round of applause." Professor Kendrick smirked and everyone could hear sarcasm in his words.
Arianna's eyes shifted to the person beside her and as their gaze connected she shuddered, this was the same feeling she had been feeling since the beginning of the class.
'Who the hell was she?!' She asked, staring at the blue-haired girl beside her, the girl gave a smile which seemed creepy to her.
Arianna shook those thoughts away, the girl before her wasn't that creepy. She was cute with her blueish-tinted hair or was it natural. And her eyes, which looked different from any human eyes she had seen before.
"Hi! I'm Naomi." The girl introduced herself, dragging her from her thoughts. She took time to look at the girl closely, she wore a blue crop top and a black high – waist skirt. Paired with a low black stilettos. She owned her looks with a confidence that Arianna would die for.
"Arianna." She replied and let out a polite smile, something about the girl doesn't still sit right with her. "I like your outfit."
Naomi's eyes brightened at that and held the flares of her skirt.
"Thanks, I just picked anything my hands could lay on this morning. I'm glad someone like it."
Naomi's eyes raked Arianna's body for a few moments.
"You also look great, and I bet you'll rock anything you wear." Naomi gave a smile.
"Thank you." They went into the line like the professor instructed, so they could pick the topics they were to read on.
It finally got to their turn and where Naomi picked the topic on formation of a company, she picked the forms of business organization.
They made plans on where and how to cover their respective topics.
"So where should we meet for our study?" Naomi asked as they stepped out of the lecture hall.
Arianna shrugged and answered, "Don't know, anywhere is fine with me."
"Hmm, how about my place or yours?" Naomi suggested. Arianna thinks about it before replying.
"Sure, we can make do with that. Go to the place that is more quiet and convenient." Naomi nodded and agreed.
"I haven't seen you in class since the beginning of the year, were you just admitted or what?" Arianna asked the puzzling question in her mind.
True, Naomi's face was somehow new because she hadn't seen her since has been coming to class and about the house she talked about, was she living alone or with some other girls.
Naomi let out a nervous laugh, then tugged a strand of her hair back. "The truth is that, I was in school since the beginning, but had to leave due to some family issues back home." She explained.
"Oh! That's okay." They came to the end of the hallway, then stopped.
"This is where we part."
"Yeah, see you tomorrow, Arianna." Naomi waved at her as she walked away.
Arianna stared at her back then smiled before going to her next class, which would last for hours. Arianna went home after her lectures were over that day, and took care of sick Zoey.
