Chapter 12 -A Moment to Think - Part 8
Just as Toki decides to leap back into a strike, unsheathing his sword, I drop my guard and hold my hands out, offering him an opening strike.
Thinking to myself, nothing good can come from this fight going on any longer.
I gaze over at Arion, who is fighting the urge to jump in and destroy the entire inn. This would result in an all-out fight, probably destroying more of the town, which would attract more attention to us.
"Go ahead then!" I yell out loud.
"Cut me down if my life is worthless because of the curse I was born with! As long as you are prepared to hold the burden of my death!"
My eye glows brightly red, etching once again with purity, making direct eye contact with Toki as his blade swings in, stopping inches from my neck.
His hand shaking, trying to determine a solution, I further shove out my arm, pulsating spirit energy through it, and showcase that I have already been inspected and cleared of being an actual demon.
