Test Subject No 1
Wang Chen went to his father's study in order to see how Kai is doing only to see him fall asleep on the body of the giant wolf after crying himself to sleep.
Knowing the boy was probably overwhelmed by his sudden care, he wants to allow Kai to slowly get used to him so that he is no longer a lone and isolated from everyone just like now.
A genius who can modify normal cleaning robots to look and move like normal human beings should not be left to his own devices. He may destroy the world with his own creation one day.
These simple ckeaning robots are the lowest level work robots found in the market. They are stiff when moving and they can only follow simple instructions. Their appearance is that of metal outer appearance. They do not have many functions but cleaning.
These ones however, can wash the clothes, wash the dishes and prepare a simple meal for Kai. They can also talk. Leaving the silver wolf aside, these two are worth a fortune. Not to mention their human like appearance.
"Look, they are so careful with him as if they are humans as well. Amazing. Do you think Kai will sell these two?" Wang Yan asked his son as soon as he saw the actions of the two robots.
"He won't sell them." Wang Chen answered his father with certainty.
"Why are you so sure?"
"He lives alone in a big villa with no one to take care of him. Look at the appearance of those two. They look like a pair of parents. He even made them look like normal humans with aging skin and normal visuals. He just doesn't want to be alone anymore." Wang Chen explained making his father very guilty.
"I should join you when you go out to buy him clothes." He suggested but Wang Chen shot him a look.
"He will be overwhelmed and probably never come out of his villa." Wang Chen thought about the look of the young man's face.
"We can have lunch the three of us sometime this week somewhere normal without turning it into a big deal." Wang Chen said.
"I will listen to what you say. Can we go and test the beauty pill he gave you and see if it really works?" Father Wang became like a little kid again.
Wang Chen nodded and the two walked out. The butler drove to the vegetables market where there are fruits stalls and saw a little girl of no more than 17 years old with a large birth mark on the side of her face.
She is carrying a box filled with fruits to sell. He looks at his father on the side.
"I don't think we should let Kai continue to isolate himself anymore. People with high IQ usually don't know hiw to handle emotional issues and may end up creating misunderstandings." Wang Chen remembers the anger he always saw in Kai's face in the past.
"With his mind, if he takes the wrong path because of the hatred in his heart, he may distroy the world. We need to find a way to ease him into the family again." Wang Yan said with his own concerns.
"Then it's agreed. We will try and ease him into the family. It is a good thing he is notthe same as before, always stirring up trouble. But sometimes I miss that dependent look he used to show me before." Wang Yan admitted.
"It will be fine. It is not too late to turn things around." However, the truth of the matter is that Wang Kai is dead. The person they are trying to fix things with is not the same person they want to ease into the family.
Outside the car, a group of delinquents kept pushing the girl from earlier around while she is carrying the box until she fell and all her fruits fell and rolled on the ground. Seeing this scene, Wang Chen asked the driver to stop and he got out.
He went to stand in front of the girl seated on the ground embarrassed while her fruits are scattered all round her. He extended a hand to help her up and she took it.
When she saw a handsome young man in front of her, she saw the expensive suit he us wearing and the black sudan in the back and deduce that he is of the same kind as the people who bully her in school all year.
Her eyes flashed with hatred but she hid it well the next second. She is used to hiding her feelings or else she would be dead at the hands of those vicious young masters and young mistresses from powerful families in her school.
"Thank you Mr. I should probably go home now." The girl said with obvious vigilance. This girl is not like the girls in the books who will be rescued by a handsome night and they will live happily ever after. She knows how disgusting she looks.
Although this person has not shown any disgust towards her it does not mean he has fallen for her. Nor does it mean he will protect her from now on. She is aware that him helping her may have been a momentary lapse of character. He may lick her in the ground the next moment.
Wang Chen saw the girl's expression and wanted to smile but remembering the grimace made by Kai in the morning when he smiled at him, he decided not to.
"Why do you need the money? This couldn't be the first time something like this happened to you can it?" He asked calmly.
"Its happens every other day. I am a scholarship student in their rich people's school so they see me as a stain there." She answered with self mockery.
"That's the only reason?" He asked.
"I'm ugly, poor and still have the audacity to get number one in the school's top ten." She said without putting a tone on her words it's as if she is talking about someone else's life.
"You're very smart then?" He asked intrigued.
"Books smart which is not very useful in the streets." She answered him.
"Indeed. But I have a risky proposition for you. If it succeeds I'll pay for the rest of your school fees until you graduate in one go. If it fails I will pay for the medical fees and give you one million us dollars. Do you agree?" He asked with a business like tone that he has honed for years now.
As a young man who was raised outside of the family he had to pass through a lot of distrust. He had to make them respect him even if they don't trust him. When he spoke to the young ladey she didn't feel like he was beeing condescending at all. It felt like a business proposal which she can accept or decline.
"Explain the risks for me." The girl heard a million dollars but still didn't lose her bearings, she just calmly asked him to clarify.
Impressed, he took out a pill and gave it to her asking her to take it from him. "My team claim to have developed a beauty pill but we haven't done human experiments yet. If you help me with this I will help you so you don't have to come out here." He offered.
The girl took the pill. Thinking about the school tuition she looked at the clean young man in front of him. "Your team? Shouldn't it be daddy's team?" She mused but took the pill right there surprising him.
She sweated and passed out. He called an ambulance so that he doesn't look like a kidnapper to the watching people. He got into the car and they followed the ambulance.
The girl was booked into a VIP single room and made to rest because besides the foul smelling sweat coming out of her body, nothing else seems wrong.
The pill only made her slightly hot which is why she passed out at the time. It was not painful at all, it only just felt very uncomfortable.
The father and son sat in the waiting room area and talked about work. This is why their relationship is closer because they both have the same interests while Kai just wanted to play father and son.
"Sir, the young lady you brought in has awaken. But due to her situation she is still taking a shower she says she doesn't feel any discomfort and is happy to be discharged soon." A nurse informed them.
They looked at each other and stood up at the same time. At the same time inside the ward bathroom a startled scream escaped the girl as she looked at her reflection in the mirror.
The large unsightly birth mark of the side of her face is gone. Her usually dry skin is now soft, the tan she got as the results of working in the sun is the thing of the past. Her previously dull eyes are now black and deep with a watery layer making people feel like she is being bullied.
She looks like her mother in the photos but only better. She cried thinking of her mother who has already passed and now she has to live with her uncle's family who has a daughter with a wicked heart.
This person always instigate everyone to hate her and form an unfavorable impression of her so much so that she would show up everywhere she is and say all sort of words which will make her a bad guy.
She got out of the bathroom wearing the hospital gown since she doesn't have a set of clothes now. Her clothes were ruined by the sweat coming out of her body earlier.
The man who had given her a pill is waiting for her in the ward with an older version of himself. She looked from one person to the next not seeing any difference except for age. She shook her head and sat down.
"You woke up. I'm glad you didn't die." Chen said looking at her. "Even your eyes are different. You could be very famous in the entertainment industry. I happen to run one if you're interested." He offered but saw a deep seethed disgust at the mention of entertainment industry.
He didn't say anything more. "How do you feel?"
"I feel like I lost 12 pounds." She said in response.
"Son, do introduce the old man." Father Wang coughed on the side seeing the two people forgetting he is there.
"This is my father. Father meet...test subject number one." Wang Chen covered up the fact that he doesn't know her name.
"Junior!" Wang Yan felt exasperated. His son will not disrespect random strangers.
"Good day, father." The girl said with a bow as if his son didn't say anything offensive a moment ago.
"I am Wang Yan of the Wang family. This is my insensitive son Wang Chen." He said with a smile.
"I am aware. You invested in a project with the fastest research team in a century. It was almost like they were spoon fed." The girl spoke with a clear voice and looked at him in the eyes as if she is not intimidated by his presence.
"That obvious huh?" Wang Chen agreed.
"Mr. Wang, I think it is safe to say that your experiment was a success." The girl looked at Wang Chen.
"Yes, this is your payment. The nurse will give you a set of casual clothes on your way out. Good luck to you." Wang Chen said with a business like expression.
"Thank you and you as well." She went and bit them farewell without any reluctance on her face. The nurse gave her a set of new clothes. She then went to the nearest cosmetics store and bought what she needed.
She then went into a rest room. Using the makeup she just bought, she made her skin in the face look exactly like how it looked before. She used the card to pay the two coming semesters and a dorm fee including meal credits. She didn't go back to her uncle's home and went to stay in school from now on.
Wang Chen gave her at least four hundred thousand dollars extra so she is able to buy herself the necessities and a good uniform. She will spend her time studying and practicing her music instrument from now on.
When Wang father and son heard the report they felt very good in Wang Chen's choice to pick a test subject. They had initially worried that she may expose the beauty pill before the Wang company is able to produce it. But it seems their worry was unfounded.
