Formless Chip

Kai looked at the girl who looks about ready to piss herself. "Get used to his presence he is not going anywhere. Be really doesn't eat anything so you don't have to worry about being suddenly devoured in your sleep."

Kai made a funny face but the girl didn't budge. He shrugged, sat down and looked at Qingyu seated far away from the wolf, seeing that he is also not very comfortable, he put wolf in his space. Seeing the wolf suddenly disappear scared the two people.

"June felt your unease and went out for a walk. Now, I was about to tell you something important about the medicine." Kai talked and saw the girl coming to sit on one of the couches as well.

"The pills were made by me and I asked the Huo family to help me distribute them because I didn't want to go through restrictions when people's lives were on the line. Which is why I can tell you that your wife doesn't have the something that killed those people. She is awakening a supernatural ability. But the medicine doesn't hurt if you still want to give her I have some here." He gave him a bottle with a single pill inside.

"Qingyu stood up in shock. The same as this?" He showed him a wind blade in his hand. Kai had suspected that he had awakened his ability back then.

"Yes, an ability like that one." Kai confirmed.

Qingyu became much more relaxed after hearing that bit of good news. "You saved all those people. I always knew you were a hero." Qingyu's words irritated Kai.

"Don't say that about me again. I am not some hero I only did it because at the time I had enough resources to but I wouldn't do something like that just for the sake of it. I am no hero understand?" Kai's face turned colder.

"Yes. Not a hero, crystal clear." Qingyu said and the girl subconsciously nodded.

"Now as I was saying she is fine but maybe you can give her this medicine to assist with the process so she will come out stronger than average ability users." Kai gave him another medication he had made to strengthen and cleanse the spirit root which is the source of the supernatural powers.

"Can I have supernatural powers too?" Tang Mai asked Kai with shinning eyes.

Kai sent his spirit power to check if she has a spirit root and found it. A relatively unimpressive one but it's better than nothing.

"I may have a way for you to awaken but you will have to go on a diet and lose all the excessive weight. Can you tolerate working out and not having whatever you want to eat?" Kai raised an eyebrow in question.

Tang Mai rolled her eyes. "Are you saying if I am not interested in gaining super powers I can eat whatever I want?"

"I have all the ingredients, as long as you cook it yourself. There is the junk food in that cabinet but you can only eat two pockets a day. The butler will monitor you for me."

"As instructed." The home system sounded, confirming what Kai said is true. Tang Mai walked up to the junk section nd found the place neatly packed with all kinds of crisp chips, cookies and sweets. She widened her eyes. This is like heaven.

"What's it gonna be Miss? All you can eat or supernatural powers?" Kai asked coolly.

"I want to think about it." She panted in exasperation.

"Remember that the world is not going to get better, in fact things are only going to get worse. Humans will soon eat each other and the way you are right now, can you out run them if they come for you?" Kai is about to leave when the door bell rang.

Opening it he found a kind looking old man and Huo Jun by the door. "Hello, please come in." The old man looked at Kai and stepped into his home.

"Jun Jun, introduce me to the nice man." Kai looked at Huo Jun and gestured. Seeing Kai treating his grandfather better than how he treats his father made Huo Jun look at Kai baffled.

"You may seat anywhere you like, I will bring you juice and cookies or do you prefer fruits?" Kai asked the old man who hasn't spoken a word since coming in.

"Enough sucking up lets get frown to business." The old man said and sat by the dinning table.

"Oh? And what business is that?" Kai sat down and looked at the man who keeps playing with his long white beard.

"I want the bangle like the one on Huo Jun's wrist. I want two of them." The old man said

"What are you offering as payment for this item?" Kai asked.

"I heard you like my grandson very much?" The old man said with a serious expression.

"Are you selling him to me? Because I'll buy him." Kai said leaning to the old man with shinning eyes. The old man snorted in disdain.

"I can rent him to you for a play date."

"Then I can only rent out the smart bracelets too." Kai said in regret.

"Hold on. I can put in a good word for you with his mother. She is very strict about who he plays with. One time, she killed his cat when he was younger."

Kai widened his eyes in horror. "I don't think I want to play with him anymore."

"Ah..you like animals?" Kai nodded in sadness because of the story.

"Get over it."

"I want that bracelet and not for renting. Think of something else."

"What else do you have?" Kai asked.

"I have a grand daughter. A little older than you but she will make a fine wife." The old man said with confidence.

"What spirit root does she have?" Kai asked.

The old men became stunned. Is this also a factor? "She doesn't have one. But I heard the young people call her a cold beauty."

"I will accept her if she has blue eyes." Kai said and then a loud bang sounded from where Huo Jun is seated. Kai and the old man turned to face him in surprise.

"My cousin is not for sale." Huo Jun cleared his throat.

"She is to be my betrothed." Kai said defensively.

"For a silly watch?" Huo Jun wanted to roll his eyes.

"She doesn't have blue eyes but she has the rarest of golden pupils. She is the fairest of maidens in this country." Kai laughed.

"You know what? I will give you two bracelets for being a great conversationalist. I hope to see you again grandpa." Kai stood up and pretended to take the bracelets out of a cabinet and gave them to the old man.

"You are not half bad young man. You should visit me sometime."

"You can be sure I will eventually enter your house some day." Kai laughed at the old man's expression.

"That's it? You just give him two for being a great conversationalist? Can I have one for my father?" Huo Jun asked coolly.

"No." Kai answered.

"Why not?"

"Jun Jun, I have significant dislike for your father." Kai said in a serious tone. The old man started choking on air.

"It will be a long time till you can keep your word if you're so blunt young man."

"I can wait. I have youth on my side." Kai smiled when the old man frowned and got out the villa.

"Show off." Kai heard the old man say on his way out.

Kai laughed and took the sensitive documents in Huo Jun's hands. It is the proof of ownership fir the six mines.

Kai took the papers and saw the two people out. The old man is very excited with the bracelet, what Kai doesn't know is that the old man is the smartest mechanic this world has ever seen and he wants to study the bracelet.

Kai wouldn't care that much about this since he will not be making them for sale anyways. Huo Jun wondered if Kai would be angered by this information.

Kai realized the flaw of his robots. They are programmed and instructed. If a special situation occurs they will not be able to deal with it. What he needs it a perfect chip that will grant them the ability to adapt while not being a threat to himself and his interests.

The reason he realized this problem is because he can not trust them to handle taking over at the mines without his constant monitoring. Kai needs to have capable workers that he can rely on.

As a result, he went into his space and put together the chip analysis and designs to see what is missing. He can not make a chip that will have the ability to continuously improving because then it will try to optimize the world resources by getting rid of the waste. Humanity.

Kai spent a long time in the space to design a robot that he desired. Imperfect and loyal. He can not put down loyalty in data and codes so he turned to artisan and he is about to have it very hard.

Kai managed to create a liquid chit that he can interact with using his commander ring. The reason he can not use it directly as a computer is because it doesn't have a vessel of a computer body. He is hesitant to put it inside one of his robots because they are not independent life forms and still need instructions.

If he put it in there it will be in charge and he doesn't want that. He has watched enough doomsday movies to know what will happen. What he needs is an operation system with a soul that he can brand with a slave seal so that it will control the chip for him.

The chip is like a systems core function without an operator. He denied it the ability to be conscious to avoid problems. This is not just technology, if it does what he wants it to do...it is magic. Feeling accomplished, he exited the space and found the place smelling foul.

He came out of his own floor which is the second floor to find out what happened. The kitchen area is filled with black smoke. Tang Mai is trying to cook something. Kai smirks when he so her taking a fasting pill and then cleaning up.

Kai helped her clean up while pretending to cough every now and then. Seeing him finally out she started asking him questions while they clean.

"Is it true that you made the smart bracelets?" Tang Mai asked Kai excitedly.

"It is true but someone else gave me the blueprint so I did not come up with it. However, I am working on something that is equally interesting. It will revolutionize the world of technology." Kai showed his excitement over the liquid chip.

"What is it?"

"It is a chip. One that is my own creation. After learning the process of making a computer chip that is hundreds of years into the future, I realized the most important aspect of a computer chip and I am able to accelerate its evolution with my genius IQ." Kai said proudly with child like happiness.

"Use human words." Tang Mai frowned.

"Its magical. It will allow humans and other species to perform tasks that exist inside a computer. Think about turning data into a fluffy looking animal and be able to control it with your mind? Or connecting to another communications device and exchange data." He thought of something else and added.

"Or have a storage warehouse where you can put items by transforming their physical form into a series of data and when you take them out of the storage they return to normal. The only downside that I haven't been able to improve its the vulnerability to viruses software attacks." Kai frowned.

If it is infected while in the human host, it could make the human sick. However, Kai also thought about another way out, if it is inside a human host, perhaps it can be cleaned using human means. Like the spirit cleansing medicine.

Kai became excited at the possibilities but he still needs a human host. He will have to find someone soon because he needs a general to lead his mine workers while he seats at home cultivating.
