The three people got in the car and made a U-turn, heading north.
"Their base must be in the north!"
Henry unfurled his body and used his sprinting ability to follow them at a distance. In terms of burst speed, Henry was definitely a bit faster than the SUV at the start.
However, the SUV had better endurance. Fortunately, the road was littered with remnants of zombies and scattered cars, making the path for vehicles winding and difficult, so the SUV wasn't moving very fast.
After traveling about two kilometers, the SUV stopped beside a small road. There were many bloodstains on the ground but no zombies, indicating that the area had been cleared by people.
Two men got out of the car with Minako, and immediately four youths, two men and two women, emerged from a nearby alley. They were all short, the women around 1.5 meters tall, and the men just over 1.6 meters. The group immediately started chattering upon meeting.
Henry couldn't understand a word and had to stay hidden in the shadows, silently observing.
"Minako, you're back!"
"What about Ohno and the others?" the man with a small mustache asked.
"We encountered an enemy, Ohno and the others were all killed in battle!"
"Luckily, I was clever enough to escape!" Minako said gravely.
"What? All three of them are dead?"
"How many were there? With Ohno and their strength, even if they couldn't win, they should've been able to break out!"
The man with the mustache looked shocked.
"Just one person..."
"And... Ohno and the others were killed instantly!" Minako's expression was so dark it almost seemed to drip.
"What? Three people killed by one person?"
"And instantly?"
"How is that possible?"
"Even mutant zombies can't do that!" The mustache man was skeptical.
"Believe it or not, that's what I saw with my own eyes!"
"If it weren't for my Oscar-worthy acting, I probably would have died there too!" Minako said emphatically.
"Oscar-worthy acting?" The man with the mustache looked Minako up and down meaningfully when he heard this.
"What are you thinking, idiot?"
"It's not what you think!"
"Anyway... let's just continue with our plan now that we've avoided that terrifying guy," Minako also adjusted to the mustache man's attitude. These men couldn't live without a woman. Their minds were always on one thing!
The group walked deeper into the alley where two other men were holding zombies against the wall with anti-riot forks. The zombies growled lowly, "heh heh," desperately trying to reach the men in front of them. But the forks, lodged at waist level, prevented them from moving.
"Are you ready?" the mustache man asked Minako.
"Um, just a second!" Minako tousled her hair a bit more and unbuttoned a few buttons on her shirt, creating a disheveled, frantic appearance. Then she picked up a frying pan, weighed it in her hand, and declared, "Ready!"
"Okay, you run twenty meters first, and we'll release the zombies," "Remember, run fast and don't look back!" "Turn right out of the alley, make sure to shout!"
The mustache man repeated his instructions. "I know, I know, it's not my first time!" "You're so annoying, always putting me in danger!" "Don't you know anything about ladies first?!" Minako interrupted impatiently.
"Can't help it, who could resist helping a beautiful damsel in distress?" The mustache man chuckled and gave Minako a firm pat on the lower back.
"HA!" Minako giggled, then composed herself and quickly ran off. "Help, is anyone there? Save me!" After running about twenty to thirty meters, she suddenly started shouting for help at the top of her voice. Her voice was sharp and carried well.
Immediately, she drew the attention of two zombies. The people holding the riot forks saw their chance and slowly pushed the zombies away from the wall with the forks, then quickly ran to hide on the side. Attracted by Minako, the zombies moaned and charged towards her, but their speed was slow, seemingly due to injuries on their feet—it was a pre-arranged trap!
Although Henry couldn't understand what they were saying, from his vantage point on a nearby building, he could see everything clearly and got the gist of it. Wasn't this just a honey trap? Just listening to Minako's cries, it was clear that these people were scheming something again.
He continued to watch in the direction Minako was fleeing. There was a large supermarket there.
At the entrance of the supermarket, about seven or eight survivors were visible, four of whom were on guard with longbows while the others were tallying supplies being moved out of the supermarket.
The leader was Slater! He had previously mentioned in the chat channel that he planned to attack a large supermarket. It seemed this was the place.
"Help, help! Someone save me!" Minako stumbled towards Slater's direction. It must be said, her acting was indeed very good! Previously, when Henry had followed her running for 400 meters, she was at a professional athlete's level. Now, running just over a hundred meters, she acted as if she was about to die.
"Heh, heh~"
"Uh..." The two zombies moaned as they chased after her.
"Save her!" Slater shouted.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Two arrows accurately struck the zombies in their foreheads. The zombies fell to the ground at the sound.
"Thank you, thank you for saving me!" Minako, pretending to be terrified, curled up on the ground, shivering.
And this scene, Henry had just witnessed half an hour ago. This... life really is all about acting skills!
"Are you alright?" Slater asked with concern. In his group of survivors, the number of men far exceeded the number of women. He was very eager to increase the number of female survivors to balance the gender ratio and avoid major problems.
"I... I'm fine..." "But please, kind people!"
"My sisters are still trapped in that alley!"
"We just saw you coming and wanted to ask for help!"
"But we accidentally alerted the zombies in the alley!"
"We don't have any weapons handy, we can't fight them!" "Please, please save my sisters!" Minako pleaded through tears.
"Sisters?" Slater's eyes lit up.
