"Good morning to you all."

Naruto said as he walked toward his classmates.

"Good morning"

They replied at the same time, while some just went on with their work.

Most of the graduates were pacing here and there with restless looks in their eyes, not feeling sure they would be good enough to get on the team. Naruto couldn't help but curl his lips up at the sight of them running around like some chickens.

"Sorry I got a bit late, Sasuke; shall we go to the rooftop now?"

"Sure. Don't even bother to say you're sorry."

"Hehe"

Naruto smiled as he gave a firm pat on Sasuke's back, which made him almost faceplant on the ground. Sakura, who saw this, gave Naruto an angry look. Shrugging, Naruto and Sasuke walked towards the mentioned building's rooftop.

"Wait for meee!!"

Sakura also followed Sasuke, humming along the way.

As they were walking, Naruto met Hinata, who quickly slowed her pace down just enough to hide from Naruto's sight.

'This girl…'

Wanting to correct her meek behaviour, he approached Hinata, making his pace fast.

<Hinata's Pov> -

'Is that Naruto?'

'Aaaah, what should I do?'

'How can I face him after we did t-that?'

I slowed my steps as I hid behind Kiba, wanting to take some cover. I really didn't know how to face him now.

Yesterday, I couldn't even sleep through the night thinking about what had happened at the river.

'Kyaaaa'

Additionally, my little sis roasted me, repeatedly threatening and blackmailing me.

To be honest, I knew Hanabi was just trying to get a reaction from me. But still, it wasn't easy to take all the teasing. I could literally feel my ears and face getting hotter and hotter.

'I want to hug Naruto now. But how?'

'Maybe later. Yes…Yes… Later.'

'For now, I'll hide...'

However, I was very wrong to think I would be able to hide as I saw Naruto coming towards me. My palms were getting sweaty by the minute.

Hinata said as she acted ignorantly like she didn't just hide.

Hinata sighed, seeing Naruto didn't do anything. But his sudden actions made him prove wrong as he kissed Hinata's forehead quickly and ran away towards his group.

A sound of exclamation could be heard from Kiba and many others in the vicinity. Hinata wanted nothing but to burrow her face into the ground like an ostrich does.

'You bully,' Hinata thought with a bashful smile.

Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke are now sitting on the concrete pavement of the rooftop. Before them was a person with spikey silver hair and a lazy expression. You guessed it: It was none other than the famous copy ninja, Kakashi Hatake.

The trio had an annoyed expression as they had waited many hours for Kakashi to come. Sakura had a vein bulging up in her large forehead.

"How can I say this... My first impression is... I don't like you guys."

The line Naruto expected finally came out exactly as he imagined.

"Tell me your likes and dislikes now. You from the right start." Kakashi declared as he pointed his finger at Sakura.

"Ah!... Let me start first. I'm Kakashi Hatake. I have many hobbies and dislikes. And," He paused for a second and said, "No... I'm not going to tell you."

Seeing Kakashi's face, even Naruto couldn't help but fume. 'So annoying,' he thought.

Then their usual talk about likes and dislikes took place. Sakura fawned over Sasuke while Sasuke said he would take revenge against her brother. The only difference was Naruto didn't want to be the hokage. Other than that, everything was pretty much the same. Kakashi told them about the test and his pass rate, which made Sakura nervous. Sasuke was expressionless, and Naruto didn't show much fear either.

"Here are two bells... Your task is to get the bells from me before the time runs out. There are only two bells. The one who doesn't get the bell will be kicked off the team. So they would need to wait until next year."

"You can use kunais and shurikens if needed... Come at me with the intention to kill."

Kakashi said as he took out two bells from his pocket. They were of silver colour, round in shape, and were connected using a thread to each other.

"I'll give you five minutes to get ready."

He said again while walking toward the middle of the ground, a little distance from the lake.

"Naruto, so what's the plan?"

Sasuke asked with strong eye contact. He was ready to display the skills he had honed over the last few years.

"We'll do this... Firstly, Sakura should distract Kakashi sensei from throwing projectiles. Using this chance, I'll close in on Kakashi Sensei and engage him in close combat. Then, Sasuke, you should wait until an opportune moment to strike. That's when I would use my shadow clone technique...bla bla bla."

"Are we all in agreement with the plan? Any objections?" Naruto asked after going over the plan for the second time.

"None from me," Sasuke said as he shrugged his shoulders.

"None from me either. But what do we do about the bells, Naruto?" Sakura asked with a worried look.

"Ah, that… Well, you two can have it. I am sure even if I didn't manage to get the bell, Kakashi sensei would pass me, seeing my awesomeness."

Naruto said, puffing up his chest like he had done some great deed.

"Right," Sasuke chuckled.

Sakura also laughed from the side, seeing Naruto's funny behaviour.

Naruto mostly managed to wash away the tension from both of them making the joke. Their previous stiffness was all but gone. Naruto gave himself a chest pat; seeing his trick worked wonders.

"We are done, Kakashi sensei."

Naruto shouted from a distance, taking Kakashi's attention.

"Finally, I thought I'd be bored to death here... Alright, come on then. What are you waiting for?"

Naruto looked at Sakura and gave her a nod. Noticing the signal, Sakura threw several kunais and shurikens in succession, spreading over the area where Kakashi sensei was.

*swoosh* *swoosh* *swoosh*

Seeing several projectiles coming his way, Kakashi easily avoided them without moving much. He looked around to see Naruto running toward him. There was a glint in Kakashi's eyes, seeing Naruto come towards him.

<Naruto's Pov>

I saw Kakashi Sensei looking at me with a smirk on his face. I mean, I am not sure because, duh!! His whole face is covered with his headband and mask.

I knew Kakashi would underestimate me and try to confront my moves. He would not have a good time taking my punch. That's for sure.

However, I would not use my full power because he would be seriously injured if I did so. So I'm going to use force just below his bone-breaking threshold. Hehe.

Otherwise, he would not take me seriously. Honestly, I had to look at his surprised face when he ate my punch.

After getting close enough, I did a leg sweep to put Kakashi off balance. He was surprised at my speed but managed to avoid it by jumping behind. Then he tried to approach my back, disorienting me.

Sensing this, I sent a punch to my side as I predicted Kakashi's route. Kakashi's eyes were wide open, knowing I had anticipated his location. It grinned as I continued to punch there without letting Kakashi react.

Sakura's kunais and shurikens coming at him put Kakashi in a difficult spot. He quickly distanced himself from me, hoping to neutralize Sakura first.

Sakura was sweating buckets seeing Kakashi coming at her.

*Swooosh*

A kunai came at Kakashi from nowhere. Surprisingly, Kakashi evaded it without much trouble, continuing his run towards Sakura.

"Tsk" Sasuke clicked his tongue, seeing his attack failed and his position was also exposed.

Without wasting a second, Naruto gestured for Sasuke to continue his attack at close quarters. Naruto and Sasuke have been practising together for years, so they have developed a strange synergy. So he didn't have a hard time understanding Naruto.

Meanwhile, Kakashi was really impressed with their teamwork. Mainly the power behind Naruto's punches, which he attributed as a side effect of harbouring the nine tails jinchuriki. But how can he lose to his own students? What about his plan?

The incoming Sasuke and Naruto interrupted his thoughts as they were simultaneously attacking and trying to snatch the bell. Kakashi had a hard time protecting the bell with Naruto's speed.

'Minato sensei, he really is like you,' Kakashi thought while looking at Naruto, who was the spitting image of his sensei.

*Ting-a-ling* *Ting-a-ling*

Sounds of the bells could be heard constantly, with Kakashi dodging both of their attacks with kunais and kicks. Using a moment of distraction from Kakashi, Naruto grabbed the bells with greater speed than usual, startling Kakashi.

Naruto was getting bored with not being able to use his full power. So he could only do a little trick to make it end quickly.

Kakashi's eyes came out of their sockets, witnessing this scene. He had no words. Was he fooled by him? How can he be this fast?

"You all pass, I guess."

He said in an uncertain voice.

'He's surely going to be a monster in the future. Sasuke too'

Kakashi thought as he watched Naruto and Sasuke fist bumping and Sakura jumping in joy after passing the test.

Naruto had a hard time trying not to laugh seeing his sensei's face. At the same time, Kakashi was depressed after getting one over by a 13-year-old brat. All the plans he had were wasted. He didn't even have a chance to show off reading his book, either.

"See you tomorrow at the same time then."

Kakashi slipped off after handing over the two lunch meals for them to eat. After that, the trio opened the lunch and ate it while taking turns.

All three of them had a smile plastered on their faces as they finally departed to their homes.
