Chapter 56: Keys

As all the villains chased right after the grail which was thrown far away from the tower, Tazer and Annie simply stayed and Annie is wondering why but he wouldn't tell her, He was silent but he seems to be cautious for some reason.

Annie who couldn't understand his reasons simply accepted them and sat down on the floor.

The Executioner member who was in charge of this floor simply was surprised to see two of the villains noticed his work earlier, he says,

"Interesting, looks like we have a smart one in the batch."

Tazer was closing his left eye, while staring at the camera watching them with his right, Annie lets out a yawn and stretches her arms and says,

"When are we going to go after the grail!? Oh I see what you're planning! hehe We will simply wait here until someone brings us the grail, we'll beat them to hell and snatch it and we're unto the second floor! Pretty impressive plan you got there!."

She pokes Tazer with her hands with an impressed look on her face, but that wasn't Tazer's plan, he knows exactly where the grail is.

He walks up to the camera with an annoyed look on his face, he places both prosthetic arms on his waist and says,

"When are you going to give us the grail!?."

The kid from inside the tower and Annie were both shocked for him to blurt something ridiculous and something impressive at the same time,

He lets out a smirk as he thought [Did he found out? hmm an Interesting one this is.] meanwhile Annie was lost for words for Tazer to ask something to one of the members of the Executioners like they're best buddies.

She walks besides Tazer and asks,

"U-Um Tazer, why did you think the grail is here? you saw it didn't you, he threw it very far from here."

Tazer: Tch only villains who are simple minded would think that

Annie couldn't still figure out what he just said or what it meant, she placed her fingers on her chin as she thinks of anything to match Tazer's reasoning why he would wait here and ask the Executioner that.

She thought of anything, even if it was all to her imagination, but she couldn't due to all the way it ends would doesn't make sense, He lets out a sigh and says,

Tazer: He never threw it in the first place.

Her eyes widened from the fact he never threw it, but she saw it with her own eyes how the grail on his hands were thrown, and how other people got burned to death as they tried to catch it she says,

"But you saw it too didn't you!? the grail isn't here he threw it way far from here."

Tazer: *sighs* Remember when he landed on the ground right after beating those two who tried to grab it from him

She was silent and listened to Tazer's theory.. no he was positive about this one.

Annie: Yeah, where he placed his hands on his pocke--!.

Tazer: *Smirks* He replaced the real one with a fake when he did.

Annie: How did you?

Tazer: I was focusing on the grail while everyone was listening to him blurt out some random shit, so I fully memorized it just from observing it for a few minutes, and when he took out the decoy one it was rusty and old, unlike the first one he showed us which was new and shiny, I don't blame you if you didn't noticed the difference, since when he took it out a few minutes after he then throws it not giving anyone a chance to get a new look at the grail.

Inside the tower he listened to Tazer's explanation to Annie, as he was impressed with what he's been doing ever since Tazer arrived the tower with all eyes on just the grail, he says,

"Impressive, and here I thought I did a good job fooling everyone."

Tazer: But not me! I'm not like those third rate villains, who think about themselves and go straight chasing after the money being baited at them.

Annie was amazed by how he managed to find out the Executioner's plan all by observing.

"There you go, if you didn't said that last part I could've let you both out now but I can't just ignore that.. but a win's a wi--! what have we here?."

Right when the Executioner member was about to hand the grail to Tazer and Annie, an unexpected enemy appears on his monitor.

Tazer notices the presence and throws a rock at a tree, Annie who doesn't know what's going on asked,

"What are you doing? there's no one her--! [Why didn't my power noticed them until now!]

Tazer walks in front of Annie with a confident smile on his face saying,

"Hehehe the third rates have gotten their info, know you planning on killing me to take the grail? so be it I'll show you what a true villain is!."

From inside the tower The one holding the first tower was in contact with the other three floors and heard what Tazer announced,

3rd: Something strange with that one.

2nd: Strange? How?.

1st: That's why I contacted you, was he saying right now the truth?

3rd: No.

Tazer leaps into the trees and throws three thugs unto the open, he landed right in front of them and as the dusts cleared the thugs got a look at his face and his electric claws, they were trembling in fear as he gouged out one of the thug's heart and feeds it unto the other thug.

Annie: Tazer!!! from behind you!! five are heading your way!!

Hearing Annie what yelled out he lets out a cackle and a smile as the five villains appeared behind him ready to kill him on the spot.

Tazer disappeared right in front of them and when they got to the ground, the third thug that Tazer left managed to run away meanwhile the other five who just got there were confused on where he went.

and the next thing they knew one of them was stabbed by Tazer's claws from behind as he lets out a maniacally cackle and says,

"Good! I've found the perfect bed for you to die on!."

He slams the body onto the ground with a force to cause a crater, as the other four backed away from him, he simply smiles and watches the other four and at the same time watches Annie from a far.

3rd: He isn't enjoying the fight at all.

2nd: Impossible. but his face says otherwise 3rd!

1st: I know you just joined this squad like a month ago but have you forgotten the 3rd's ability to read people's thoughts and their true intentions?

3rd: He's repeating the words "Protect"

2nd: But who is he referring that to?

the 1st which was the kid who is overseeing the first floor notices Annie on the cameras and notices Tazer's look towards her from a far as he faces off the other four villains that appeared. He smiles and says,

"I see, that's what's going on here."

Tazer disappears again and plunges towards one the remaining thugs and smashes him onto the ground once again, he then hears a shot fired as he catches the bullet with his teeth and spits it out, a smile that was showing his sharp teeth was replied to the one holding the gun.

the villain tries to run as Tazer appears right in front of him and shoves the bullet into the villain's eye, screaming from the intense pain, Tazer then kicks the villain towards a tree unconscious.

1st: Should I interfere?

2nd: hmm?

3rd: No, this could prove pivotal in learning his true intentions.

The two remaining villains tried to take Annie as hostage, Tazer just noticed and thought while the 3rd was listening to his thoughts at the same time.

Tazer: [Crap!]

3rd: *Gasps* I've seen enough, I'll be looking forward for those two here on the third and last floor.

2nd: Last? Where are the others?

3rd: They've been sent by the king to go investigate the crisis on the other kingdoms, they'll be gone for quite some time.

1st: We can handle things here while they're gone, I know we can.

Tazer tries to get there on time as fast as he could but he stops right on his tracks as he sees Annie grabbing two blades and fought them head on, she leapt towards them, shocked to see her move so fast she managed to kill one, while the other managed to block her strike,

She rushes towards the last standing villain while tossing one blade in the air, she then thought [Good. He's paying all his attention on the blade, with this I ca--!]

The villain smiled as she was grabbed by Tazer at the last second the bomb exploded right where Annie's left foot was about to set foot on.

Tazer saved her right at the last second as he places her down and says,

"Pay more attention to your surroundings next time!."

Annie: We'll talk later!

as she pushes Tazer and dodge the strike of the incoming villain, Tazer was pissed that he was "saved" by a girl and pushed all his rage unto the newcomer villain who tried to kill them a few seconds ago, he says out,

"I'll kill you!."

The newcomer was wearing a mask, a surgical one? not quite, but a mask that was covering just his mouth, while Tazer was dealing with him Annie went back to finish off the last villain,

Getting desperate he tried to land a punch on her, as she sidesteps and pulled out a piece of thread and tied it on the villain's neck, dodging the punch and bringing him down she says,

"If you move any more I'll cut it."

with his hands open he cut the thread and threw multiple bombs at her, acting shocked and confused she lets out a smile and the next thing the villain knew the bombs he threw were coming back to him and exploded right at his face.

Now defeated she heads to Tazer to back him up, meanwhile the 1st contacts just the 3rd again and asks,

"What do you expect from those two 3rd? what's the girl's motives right now?."

3rd: True, that she's been here for months now, but by spending time with the newcomer she has gained something she doesn't know how to express yet and is finding a way to show him.

1st: Does this have any connections to what Merlin said?

the 3rd was silent and ends the call..

1st: I knew it had to be these two, but can't I just let them go if they are a part of saving this kingdom from ruins?

Doubting his own decisions he managed to calm himself down and plans on continuing the test and ensures Tazer and Annie survives this.

Annie arrives at the scene, Tazer was pushed to the tree and he dodged the attacker's multiple strikes, he used his right claw to try and catch the masked villain but he dodged them as well.

Annie was throwing something in the air and Tazer has caught notice to what she's doing, meanwhile he stared at the masked villain again and he could see him breathing heavily, he thought [He's exhausted? Good!] as he tries to close in on him Annie yelled.

"Get away from there Tazerr!!!!."

Hearing the girl's voice he backed away without a second thought as Annie clenched her fists and the next thing Tazer saw was the threads that tied up the masked villain and caused him to bled as the threads get tighter and tighter,

Annie: Tazer now's your chance!

Tazer: I don't need you telling me that!

In front of the tied up villain Tazer was there, with his malicious red eyes, his dark electric claws readying to grab something, he said,

"Big mistake trying to harm the kid!."

He stabbed the masked villain with his left claw and pulled it out and left him to die by blood loss.

A few minutes later, The Executioner member was standing right outside the tower waiting for them to return he smiled with joy at them as Annie then asks,

Annie: Do you know him Tazer?

Tazer: Not one bit, but he's got something what we do want.

They both walk towards him and he lends out his arm asking,

"Our price please."

He chuckles and gives them the grail and says,

"Well you totally got me there, Congrats just enter the tower and make a left to reach the second floor."

They both enter the tower as the Executioner member thoughts to himself [I hope those two can get out of here safely, they do have a role to play in saving the kingdom.]

Tazer and Annie managed to get out of the tower and the first thing they saw was a forest,

Tazer: Geez what is it with this place having a lot of forests!

Annie: I don't know, but we're almost out, if we could reach the third floor and win the test we could finally go back outside to society!.

In the deep part of the forests villains were on the floor, unconscious, some were dead, some were loosing limbs and legs.

As a girl with black hair as long as her body, covered in blood smiles.
