Seraph sat silent for an hour. His eyes closed in fear of being discovered too soon. The torrent of flames that the birds produced scared him deeply, However, he also couldn't deny the beauty of the flames.
Just like their bird counterparts. The flame seemed to have a vendetta against the sky and everything else around him, Seraph could feel air getting pulled into the torrents of flame and saw how the brown muddy surface of the pond turned black and charcoal instanously when the flame finally burned through the water.
The birds and their master the angel stopped their action. The Angel floated down to the black surface, his feet gently touching the scarred earth. His expression carried complicated emotions, with mixtures of awe and fear showing on his face one after another. He lifted his other hand gently with his palm faced down, As if the birds were connected to the angel, they began to swarm into the sky and circle directly above the pond.
A brilliant green light covered his hand, emerald green birds in the sky were singled out. Each bird pulled away from the others and descended toward the ground. The Angel closed his eyes, seraph eyes bulged and he fervently observed what was about to happen next.
The Emerald birds stuck their talons into the ground. The Green light slowly turned to liquid around his hand, with slight taints of yellow mixed within the emerald liquid a drop of it touched the ground. The birds screeched in unison when the first droplet made contact, flapping their wings wildly causing a few of their feathers to drift out and touch the ground.
Slowly, the emerald liquid began to make a small puddle in the ground. It acted like jello constantly wiggling around but within the air their was profound strength held in that single puddle in the ground. The Birds that were flapping their wings slowly stopped and instead began digging their beaks into their feathers and pulled them out, tossing them toward the green liquid.
The Emerald liquid spread over the ground, as it approached new across the scarred earth grass would sprout out from the ground and the feathers acted like grass bombs. When the emerald liquid touched the feather, a tree would sprout from where it originally was and grass would instantly appear around it.
Seraph slowly withdrew his body deeper into the bush he was hiding in, his hand pulled to his jaw as he watched the ever enclosing emerald liquid that began to travel to the forest floor. Sweat dripped down from his face, as he felt large amounts of heat swarm his body. The emerald liquid looked like a green version of lava, something he definitely did not want to touch.
Inching himself backward, he tried desperately to not make a single noise. However, the emerald liquid instantly dispersed, turning into a stream of ash. Following the stream, He could see at the end of it was the angel with his palm facing the sky.
The ash swirled in the air for a few seconds before finally gathering in the palm of the angel. The Angel nodded to himself, closed his palm and flapped his wings gently. His figure gently lifted into the sky, the birds following him.
Seraph stood still for an entire ten minute. He waited until the angels back disappeared from view, then he stood up and began stretching his body. His body was drenched in sweat and looking toward the grass and trees that replaced the pond made him shiver…
' I need to move.' Seraph picked up the spear he hid, 'I don't know when those freaky little birds are coming back but I don't ever want to piss them off or that angel wielding them.'
[ Not an Angel ]
'Yeah, whatever! I'm not gonna die pissing it off either way!' Seraph swung his arms as he ran, air swept past his hair.
He pulled out his large knife and hugged his arm around the spear, he used the dagger to clear some of the forest foliage. Seraph heard cracks and deep growls within the forest, he paused kneeling down to the floor. He currently stank with sweat… Looking down at the ground, he used his knife and dug out a huge hole of dirt.
'I hope this works.' Grabbing the dirt, he rubbed them against his armpits and all over his body.
He heard the leaves and bushes around him break, he lowered his body to the ground. Watching the wolves, rush through the blind spots of the jungle. He could even see a few of them run along the tree branches…
A minute later, the sounds of the wolf stampede stopped. Seraph got up and began running, his knife swinging wildly as he hacked away small bushes in his way.
Ten minutes later, Seraph was still in the forest. Not even tired, he gripped onto the bark of a tree branch and attempted to pull it down… "Foooouuuuuuu!"
[ Stop. ]
Seraph paused, 'Why?'
[ You won't be able to break any tree bark. ]
'I know that i'm just testing something. I remember you saying that I can upgrade things using souls.' Seraph said as he slowly picked up the spear off the ground 'Can i put my souls into the spear?'
[ This Spear can only hold ten human strength souls. The Spears sharpness, and endurance will increase while its weight would become slightly more lighter for the user. ]
Seraph nodded, 'Place all of the souls into the spear.'
[ Holy Item Created ]
[ Name your Holy Item!]
A little notification appeared in front of his eyes, he blinked for a moment before saying 'Spear of John.'
[Holy Item Created]
[ Spear Of John ]
[5/10 Souls]
As the notification appeared, Seraph felt the spear in his hand become incredibly light. Looking down he saw patterns travel up the spear, glowing brightly before completely disappearing.
'What are those lines on the spear?'
[ Host Level Inefficient. ]
'What?' Seraph looked at the message with surprise, 'I guess… Even you can't reveal some things to me…'
The system didn't respond, but seraph simply shrugged it off. His head cleared from all emotions, he pulled back his spear. Reeling it back, He then took a step forward, his weight shifting slightly as his arm shot forward spear in hand.
The spear made a direct jab against the tree, the bark of the tree peeled back. And then a loud clinking sound followed by rapid vibrations travelling up his arms "Woah."
His arm was aching slightly, the speed of the spear surprised him. The strength it exuded also surprised him, but what surprised him most of all was how strong this tree was!
He gripped the spear impaled in the tree and pulled it out, "This spear gives me the attack of a level 2…" He muttered.
Pulling his face over the hole he just made, he first eyed it carefully before putting his finger into the hole, "This is deep… I can fully extend my finger without it touching the back of the hole."
'System! How do I release the holy stuff stored in the spear?'
[ Just use holy mana on the spear. ]
'What? Really? Just like that?' Seraph looked at his spear then began to channel holy mana from his palm into the spear, a few light lines appeared faintly on the spear.
He wielded it for a moment, he spun it slightly and a white line followed the spear "Cool." He felt the mana drain out of him at a fast rate, 'It's cool but the time I can do it for is limited.'
Seraph stopped wasting mana, 'I can probably use it in this form for about 30 seconds before being completely wasted.'
He didn't want to stab the spear with holy mana infused in it, mostly because it would drain his precious mana faster than him just wielding it and moving it around.
Seraph continued onwards. He eventually found another pack of wolves, Who in turn attempted to hunt him down…
However, Seraph was stronger than before. At what was technically his 'peak' power, he suddenly turned behind a tree dodging a wolves pounce. His spear suddenly pierced toward the wolves hind.
The wolf whimpered, Seraph responded with a cold look ripping the spear out of its leg up its stomach, before swiftly swiping it up into the air to meet a wolf's head. The blunt impact alone of the spear staff striking against the wolves head rendered it dazed, Seraph wielded his spear like a snake. Quickly after striking the wolf, his spear pulled back and impaled the wolves tummy.
After killing two wolves in quick succession the rest of the three wolves, slowly approached from the bush. They all pounced on seraph, Seraph closed his eyes...
A holy spear appearing above his shoulder, as faint white lines appeared on his spear. His eye opened.
His spear moved in a blurr, thrusting out two piercing strikes the moment the wolf moved in. The holy spear he made over his shoulder also shot out like a bullet impaling itself into the wolves hide before the wolf suddenly bursted into a sail of dust.
The three wolves turned into dust, in front of his eyes… His lip slowly formed a smile 'This is nice.'
[.5 soul gained]...

[ Dark wolf Killed ]

[ 6 xp gained]...

He looked behind him, looking at the corpses of the two wolves he killed with normal thrusts…
'I need to find a safe place quickly…' He picked up one of the wolves, putting him over his shoulder. He then looked toward the other wolf with a curious expression 'Could i?'
He began to infuse holy mana into the wolf…
[ Rejected, Hosts Level insufficient ]
'Rejected?' He only wanted to burn away the wolf's body… 'What is being rejected?'
The system said nothing, making him sigh.
