"Right. So. Is everything going according to the plan, Eris?" Jylan asked. Eris hesitantly nodded after a minute. "It's just…"
Sebastian and Jylan both froze. And then, at the same time, they said, cautiously, "What is it?" Eris, who was sitting on the floor and drying off his metal armor, put the towel down on a pile next to him and picked a leaf out of his hair. "The advisors already know both of you exist since you infiltrated. They'll come right here if one of you doesn't go." Eris said, crossing his legs and wiping a drop of water off his chin.
"So, basically, we have to sacrifice one of us or sacrifice both," Sebastian said, flatly. Erin stared at him for a moment, as if he was trying to tell what the prince was thinking, and then he nodded. "Yeah."
Both Jylan and Sebastian met each other's eyes at the same time.
"How much money would it take for you to stay and let me fight instead?"
Jylan and Sebastian both stared at each other. Then,
"None, because I'll go instead."
Eris scratched his head, confused. Then Jylan and Sebastian continued looking at each other, and finally, Sebastian grabbed Jylan and punched him in the head, knocking him out. Eris watched curiously as Jylan fell to the floor, and Sebastian made a face. When he spoke to Eris, his voice was colder than it had been when talking to Jylan.
"I don't like this, but let's go kid."
