The Little Adventure of Ketanium! [Yksi]

Age, unknown. Birthplace, unknown. Race, unknown. Estimated power level—

Unknown.

Many beings, people, monsters, undead, and parted souls sang their lullaby for the one and only menace lurking within the heart of future civilization. Nothing can tame the chaos itself, as it has none to harness, speckless.

In the possession of four recorded 'Angels', neutralized, present at the first Dodeca War, was not found in any record of printed history. Current occupation: VA's personnel.

The Vagant Association had been a longtime wall, forcing the renaissance of a new era where four major races stand as one.

Aekha, the major race with the most mana conductivity. Freaks of nature where the majority still clings with tree and saps like herbivore do, can hardly be found on the overworld, but not anymore since the first movement of the renaissance. Can be negotiated.

Aiseirigh, the unbecoming prideful dragon that resembles pure humans the most. Their horn is only for flaunting but they are ambitious, truly dangerous. Must be eradicated if possible.

Tanomobi, the ageless rodents with an extremely higher survivability rate than all of the races, are still hidden within the claimed Calamity's zone, yet they are hard to find. Doesn't pose a threat but if they start to become more active, then drastic measures must be taken.

Khazenkha, the lizard people with many subspecies. Currently holding the lane of defense on every possible border of Amos Citadel. Highest priority, they must be eradicated at all costs.

Out of every crisis mission, my target is only one. Highly sought by every Private Military Company, the Coalition and Assailant department always tries everything to recruit her, yet she decided to rot away within the Scout department with inactivity for a couple of years. Not only that, many are aiming for her head even within the Citadel.

Codenamed: Long Leggy.

What a dumb name.

Why would the 'Unforgiven' give this unreasonable mission to me? I have no grudge against humanity or even the 'Angels', I just want my tea time uninterrupted and the best pastry made by my archenemies. Is it that hard?

It took two years for me to climb up to my current rank within the Scout department, and now my target has been discharged!? How can I tell the others I used as a pawn for this position? I already have too much debt!

Alas, the world is unfair and so do I. A brown cheese pancake in the afternoon might be a good idea—

"Awawawa!?"

A gothic-lolita!? That trend died forty years ago!

Huh, she fell. Such a poor twerp who knows nothing about the world. I can't sense any foundation within the brat either. Ignorance is truly the true form of imperialistic nature of egoistic mind from the little prison body called a child, whose brat is this? Younglings from one offspring mustn't need dotting or love, they should have just been thrown into the wild and learn the very essence of survival as searing sands rekindle the soles of their feet with the feeling of pain, engraving their life with idealistic comprehension about the world.

But cute is justice, what a nice fashion sense. I wonder if the candy I bought a while ago can appease the tremor of the bumping—ah, I forgot that she is carrying something, hmm? ammunition!? She is volunteering? Ah, such fine craftsmanship, a whole .75 caliber with mana gyrojet. Ah, I'm too focused on this piece of art. Is it for the cylinder gun? Hmm, it could be an exotic product from the looks of it. Ah, the young lady is troubled. Ah, the candy!

"T-thanks!"

Good, the little critter has regained her posture. This reminds me back in the day where everything is not a dumpster fire raging around the primordial realm for 'Unforgiven' sake—

"Ketanium! Your order is here!"

Perfect, let's see what kind of abominations I got for using all of my KC for this random bidding. Living within a Citadel is really complicated. You need money for everything, it wouldn't be surprising that an economic crisis can lead to a broken society. But that won't matter as much for now, cause I need the adrenaline of my random-possibilities addiction. Then again, it was a little out of place for the meeting to be held here, maybe the owner of the bidden item is anxious? Hmm, I can't understand.

The male Aiseirighs with a sleek business suit hands me a briefcase, the service is astounding as always, the aesthetic of the briefcase is superior than my briefcase. It was a plus already.

I'll open it later.

I got what I needed, although waiting one hour earlier than the supposed given time is an excruciatingly bad idea, a minus for my brain.

Now, where is that Long-Legged bitch—

"Ah."

This smell, my target's companion, is in this vicinity, surprisingly. This must be the fate given to me by the 'Unforgiven', if I can capture her, if I at least capture her—

No, I mustn't act rashly. The world is huge and the dire needs of instant satisfaction can be the downfall to any living being, even the clouds from heaven won't forgive my plea to them if something happens, every mortal for themselves, let's just give the convoluted matters to the immortal.

Firstly, to the toilet.

Ah, the interior is fancy, it always impresses me with how they implement so many ideas into everyday facilities. A clone should suffice. No, the use of mana can be detected, a tiny one, a small itsy bitsy drone recorder. Why become a better person when you can be a successful one?

Any information, a single information is crucial, knowing the enemies is the key to victory. Yes, my key is only meters away, I can get a higher position when I'm back to Tartarus, if I accomplish this, I can live a good wasteful life. My own familiars, my own private realm, my own happiness—

"Ah."

What.

"Fufufu."

The music cheerfully takes over the background, the feeling of dread from the sudden appearance of someone has taken over my motivation to stay alive.

"C-C-Compose!?"

"A new assassin? Who sent you?"

She stands there, inside the toilet booth, menacingly. Staring at me with a killing intent dense enough to overwhelm the sun, with the lil' me currently bottomless as I'm trying to pretend to get calls from mother nature.

Unfazed, the fearsome devil herself only shows a wide manic smile, "Ah, you're one with the Calamities."

"H-h-how do you know?"

Instead of replying to my abrupt panic, she throws a fact at me. "Capturing me? Are you sure?"

"EEEEEEKHH!?"

Ah, I'm dead meat aren't I? There is no time to question how she knows or whether she reads my mind and other unknown means. Such a painful death is perfect for the sinful me.

"So what is your answer? Little rascal?" A sneer comes with a rather vague question.

What should I reply?

'I want my tea time'.

'This is not how it should be'.

'Mogawa River'.

"I-I will defect! I promise!"

"How will I know if you wouldn't defect again from us?"

'Good calming music'.

'Contradicting my nigh end'.

'Mogawa River'.

Her face is getting closer, "Hmm, how about skewering? One hundred cuts? Does a Calamity need oxygen?"

"Hikhs!!"

The surrounding is getting darker, her eyes envelopes in black as numerous sharp nails gently threaten my own being, in my four hundred years of experience, this is the most harrowing event till this date.

Slowly, a sharp scythe of painful death rising behind her.

"Calamity. Must, Die."

Ah, the tears won't stop, am I crying? That doesn't matter anymore, if I die, then so be it. Even if I died crying. Oh, mother nature, please grant me a place within your body as I seek retribution for what I've done for all of my lifetime.

Ah, my bladder can't contain the yellow tears on my body part below. I can't think of any more haiku for this, please, for the first time. I don't want to die, huuuu!

Miserable, my anguish and cry for help lasted for a while, until I open my eyes to see no devil in my sight.

"..."

Ah, I'm a mess. Luckily, the briefcase is still here. Maybe opening it might cure my sadness.

"..."

A mere low-ranked forcefield talisman. I was scammed.

Ah, I think I'm considering my retirement, probably confessing my old fixation on my crush one hundred years ago. Maybe if I'm lucky, I can end up marrying him and live a peaceful life. Integrating within the society isn't a bad idea either, those barbaric folks won't be able to crush the defense lines anyway. I can be a baker, make a stable living. And buy a plot of land. Probably becoming a better person, a better person, a better person.

A better person.

"..."

I want to cry again.

Status: I'm currently bedridden, will update soon after I'm feeling good!

A different perspective from our new lucky character! I might reconsidering of doing a different pov time to time if it reveals and adds something to the plots, so stay tune for my lazy ass chapters writing~

Also, please, the more you throw a powerstone at this humble book, the more guilty I'll be for not writing another chapters consistently...

Ehem, with that said, stay tune for the next chapter! Have a nice day!
