A gift from Ahn Ye Jun

He pulled out a drawer and picked out a medicine bottle with trembling hands.

He opened the medicine bottle and took a capsule 💊 out from it, and immediately put it into his mouth. He swallowed the drugs before pouring himself a glass of water from the jug on his work table.

After drinking the water, he felt so much better. He sat on the chair 🪑

His two children wanted to get him killed on time.

One (Park Hayoon) got pregnant out of wedlock, and the other one (Park Ji Hu) is playing around with his life.

They wouldn't be the death of him, he wouldn't allow that!

A few days later, Park Ji Hu accepts the job offer at the rink. He started coaching little children above Kim Hyejin's age.

While coaching Kim Hyejin, he trained other kids as well.

Kim Hyejin was doing a lot of hard work as a little child, and that's because her interest in figure skating has increased.

A month later, Kim Hyejin receives a birthday present from Ahn Ye Jun. She received two expensive customized hair bands.

Ahn Ye Jun said that one gift was for the birthday he missed, and the other was for her upcoming birthday.

He gave the gift to his uncle, Wang Ju Won to pass it on to her. He couldn't come in person because he went back to the city to stay with his parents as they took a break from work.

Park Hayoon and Wang Ju Won are now friends, and they met each other on some occasions. So on one of the occasions, he passed the gift box to her.

When Kim Hyejin (KHJ) heard the gift was from Ahn Ye Jun, she smiled impatiently as she watched her mother open the box to reveal the two hair bands.

"Wow! They are pretty." KHJ said as her face shone brightly. Then she stretched forth her hands to grab the hair bands from the box.

"Jenny is careful with them, they look expensive." Park Hayoon cautioned her in a mild tone.

When Park Hayoon glanced at the hair bands, she knew they were quite expensive. Since she sometimes got gifts from Wang Ju Won, she knew the quality of some items, and this one was not an exception.

"Mama, help me." KHJ pleaded as she struggled to fit on her hair.

Park Hayoon chuckled softly as she helped her little one out.

"You look beautiful. Check yourself in the mirror." Park Hayoon said to her after placing one of the hair bands on her hair.

KHJ immediately ran to glance at herself in the mirror.

"Wow! Mama, I look pretty." KHJ commented with a happy smile on her face as she checked herself out.

KHJ went on to try the second hairband. She felt quite satisfied with the gifts.

She asked her mother to take pictures of her with the hair bands on her hair, and she did so.

"Mama, can I have a phone?." KHJ requested in a soft tone.

Park Hayoon was surprised with the outrageous request, so she asked, "What do you need a phone for?."

"Uhmmm... I need to call Ye Jun and thank him for the gifts." KHJ replied innocently.

"You can do that with my phone. You are still too young to have a phone. When you grow up, I will buy a phone for you, okay?."

"Okay!." KHJ responded heartily as she moved her gaze back to the hair bands in her hands.

That same day, Park Hayoon got Ahn Ye Jun's contact number from Wang Ju Won.

KHJ spoke with Ahn Ye Jun on the phone.

"Jin'er it's nice to hear from you! Did you receive the gifts?." AYJ asked with a smile on his face as he sat in the clean and spacious living room, and faced what seems to be like a game, on the big TV screen.

He had a PS5 🎮 by his side on the sofa.

"Yes, I liked them. Thank you!." KHJ replied in a cute baby voice.

"That's great," AYJ replied.

"Ye Jun, you can contact me with my Mama's number." Kim Hyejin notified him.

"Okay," AYJ replied happily. He seemed very happy to hear KHJ voice.

A few days later, Kim Hye Jin starts school. On her first day at Kindergarten, she didn't cry.

Park Hayoon thought she would cry just as she turned to leave, but to her greatest surprise, her daughter held her teacher's hand and followed her into her new classroom.

Kim Hye Jin kept looking around the beautiful surroundings with an inquisitive gaze.

Park Hayoon thought she didn't cry because she has been exposed to the outside world a little (Going out with her mother, her experience at the children's park, and most especially at the rink).

Park Hayoon felt a little proud that her little was growing up, so she turned around and walked away. She had college to attend.

Kim Hyejin paid attention in class, and she introduced herself to other children in her class.

She only introduces herself to those that came up to her. Besides that, she sat quietly on her desk as she studied her surrounding with keen interest.

As this was the first time in her life being in an unfamiliar environment with no family member beside her, Kim Hyejin started to miss home.

During the lunch break, Kim Hyejin started to miss her mother, Uncle, grandmother, and grandfather, so she boldly walked up to her teacher and requested to speak to her mother.

Her teacher saw the innocent face, and her teary eyes, and so decided to make the call, as she encouraged her with kind words.

When Park Hayoon answered the call, Kim Hye Jin began to sniff as her teacher placed the phone a little away from her little ear.

"Mama." Kim Hyejin called out in a dejected tone, disregarding the title she usually addressed her with, whenever they were outside.

"Jenny is that you?." Park Hayoon asked in surprise.

"Mama... I miss you." Kim Hyejin said as tears flowed from her eyes.

"Jenny Mama miss you too." Park Hayoon replied in a sweet tone, unaware of the tears brimming in her little girl's eyes.
