Chapter 208: Looking for Trouble with Me? Got Water in Your Head?

The Cadmus Project was something Su Sheng was very familiar with.

In the comics, it was initiated by Lex Luthor, aiming to study alien technology to push human evolution further and drive away alien threats. While the intentions may have seemed noble, the methods were far from friendly. In Supergirl's world, the Cadmus Project was also spearheaded by Lex Luthor, but the true leader was his mother, Lillian Luthor.

This plan created various powerful anti-alien weapons and even gave rise to figures like Metallo and Cyborg Superman, both of whom were particularly dangerous to Kryptonians. In fact, Alex's biological father was involved in this organization, while the true Hank Henshaw—Cyborg Superman—was the real identity behind Martian Manhunter's assumed persona.

With Lex Luthor dead, killed by Superman, Su Sheng suspected that Cadmus' retaliation would be even more ruthless. Timing their next move now seemed particularly ominous.

"Come to my place tonight," Su Sheng whispered to Lucy Lane, who was standing nearby, before turning his attention to Kara.

Lucy was taken aback. She thought he was going to talk more about the Cadmus plan, but instead, his request was rather unexpected.

Su Sheng exchanged a few words with Kara, advising her to rest, and then left the DEO.

That night, Lucy Lane arrived at Su Sheng's apartment. After some light-hearted moments, Su Sheng led her to the Disciple, his spacecraft, for a tour. They shot some footage for his collection wall before retiring to the ship's bedroom.

The night passed with the sounds of their intimacy filling the air.

As dawn broke, Su Sheng was awoken by the sound of a phone ringing.

"Your phone?" He nudged Lucy Lane, who was curled up next to him.

Lucy groggily checked her phone and shook her head. "Not mine."

"Must be mine then." Su Sheng picked up his phone, surprised.

"Hello?"

"Hello, Mr. Su Sheng. This is—"

"Lena Luthor," Su Sheng interrupted, recognizing her voice immediately. Sitting up against the headboard, he traced his hand over Lucy Lane's bare shoulders, speaking calmly as she looked at him with curiosity. "If this call is for the same reason as last time, my answer hasn't changed. I'm not interested in your company's antiques, and I'm certainly not in need of money."

"Uh-huh," Lucy moaned softly as Su Sheng's hand wandered.

"Seems like I'm interrupting something. Let me guess, is that Siobhan Smythe with you? I know you recently bought shares in CatCo Worldwide Media, and a woman like her, always eager to climb the corporate ladder, must have been easy to win over, right? While Superman is out saving the world, you're... indulging in women. How fitting."

"So, you called me early in the morning just to mock me? Also, wrong guess—this isn't Siobhan." Su Sheng's voice carried a hint of amusement.

Lena paused. "Would you like to meet in person?"

"Send me the time and place," Su Sheng replied, ending the call.

Lucy, who had overheard the conversation, raised an eyebrow. "Lena Luthor? Lex Luthor's sister? What's your connection to her?"

Su Sheng didn't bother answering. He had his reasons for agreeing to meet with Lena, though they were unrelated to her family's business.

Later that day, after Lucy Lane had left for the DEO, Su Sheng took a moment to rest. He checked on Jesse from Earth-Two, making sure things were stable before heading to Lena Luthor's office.

The large "L" on the building was hard to miss, marking the headquarters of her new company.

Su Sheng floated into Lena's office using Martian Manhunter's phasing ability. As he landed softly, Lena looked up from her paperwork, momentarily surprised.

"I thought you'd knock," she said with a small smile, setting down her documents.

"That's difficult when you can phase through walls," Su Sheng quipped, taking a seat across from her. "Now, tell me—what do you want?"

Lena smiled politely. "You're very direct, aren't you?"

Su Sheng shrugged, uninterested in pleasantries.

"Well, I—" Lena started, but Su Sheng suddenly frowned. He walked to the large window behind her desk, his gaze locking onto something in the distance.

"What are you doing?" Lena asked, confused by his sudden movement.

"Get behind me if you don't want to die," Su Sheng replied calmly.

A missile zoomed toward the window, shattering the glass and exploding with a deafening roar.

Lena quickly moved behind Su Sheng, trusting his warning. The heat from the blast rushed through the room, leaving her slightly singed.

"Whoo!" Su Sheng exhaled sharply, his breath instantly extinguishing the flames and freezing the debris around them.

"You asked me to meet here, and then we get attacked? What a coincidence," Su Sheng remarked, glancing at Lena before jumping out of the shattered window.

The streets below were already cleared of civilians after the explosion. As Su Sheng landed, he spotted two metallic figures approaching, their chests glowing with green kryptonite.

"Metallo?" Su Sheng mused, recognizing the two figures immediately.

The metallic beings, enhanced with kryptonite, advanced toward him, their fists raised for an attack.

"So, Cadmus sent these after me? Instead of going after Superman or Supergirl, they target me? Have they lost their minds?" Su Sheng muttered, amused by the situation. But as the two figures charged at him, one from the left and one from the right, his smile grew wider.

"Interesting powers you've got there!"

With a smirk, Su Sheng activated his mimicry ability, instantly copying the kryptonite-infused strength of the Metallo clones. As their punches neared, Su Sheng prepared for a fight with abilities that mirrored their own.
