Gossip.

Overwhelmed by Sean's kindness, she took looked at him, and then at the milk in his hand.

Sean narrowed his eyes into slits. "I didn't poison it."

"Thank you." Anna took the glass.

Sean returned to his bedroom to take a shower and prepare to rest, but he couldn't close his eyes. When he appeared at the door to switch off his light, Anna was sprawled on the sofa, sound asleep.

"Is she dead?" Sean muttered as he walked up to her, intending to take her back to her bedroom. However, in the end, he chose not to do so and went to get a blanket and covered her instead.

As he gazed at the sleeping woman, he noticed that she seemed to be troubled. Her brows remained furrowed with worry even as she slept. Sean squatted in front of her and stretched out his hand to touch her cheek, gently smoothing her eyebrows.

After a while, he got up and left the study after turning off the light.

The next day, Anna woke up in the living room. Ten minutes later, Patrick and Anna sat in the dining room, waiting for their breakfast.

Sean carried three servings of pasta on a tray and walked over and put them on the table.

"Miss Anna, haven't you found a place to stay yet?" Patrick asked, his eyes baring into Anna as he questioned.

"I am searching. I will try to move out quickly." Anna replied. "You guys enjoy. I have to go." She returned to the living room and walked out with her packed handbag.

"Uh… Hey, are you really.." Sean was about to say something, but Anna had already walked out.

Seeing her leaving, Sean glanced at Patrick and chided, "Hey! Don't you have a heart?"

"Huh?" Patrick said.

"Fool! You are making her uncomfortable. Don't you understand she has nowhere to go?" Sean said.

Patrick frowned. "Still she...."

"Shut up!" Sean hissed.

"Heart? As if he has...." Patrick grumbled in his head.

Ryan engaged in reading the material for the morning meeting while exchanging some words with Kelvin. Then he suddenly noticed a flower store on the roadside that was just opening.

"Pull over." He said.

Kelvin instantly pulled over the car, turned around and asked, "What is it, Master?"

Ryan looked at the flower store on the roadside and said, "Go buy that red roses."

Kelvin threw a weird look at him. Ryan rolled his eyes at Kelvin and said again, "Go!"

Kelvin got out of the car, went into the flower store and bought a bunch of red roses. Ryan then grabbed the card from the bunch of flowers and scribbled some lines before stuffing it back into the flowers.

Meanwhile, Sasha got himself ready for the company. She opened the door when she ran into Kelvin who was about to knock on the door with a bunch of flowers in his arms.

"Take it! It's from Ryan Shore."

Sasha with a confused look received the flower.

"Master will be going out on business today," Kelvin informed while Sasha simply nodded with a blank expression.

"Bye then," Kelvin said. Turning to her again, Kelvin said, "And make sure to pick up his call."

Sasha blinked her eyes standing on her ground without moving an inch.

------

At lunchtime in the afternoon, Sasha overheard conversations with several colleagues in the bathroom.

"Really? But Sasha seems like a serious and hard-working person. Besides, she always looks so innocent. Why would she do such a thing?"

"Ah well, people nowadays are willing to do anything to succeed and climb up the social ladder. Think about it! She just join the company but she is already in our team."

"She pretends to be a diligent person, but in reality, she's seducing the Supervisor Owen of the marketing department. What a slut!"

"Do you know that when I took the documents to Mr. Skeete's office to sign the other day before she join here, I saw Sasha hugging him? One look was all it took for me to be certain that she was trying to seduce him."

Her colleagues' gossip drifted into my ears loud and clear. Hearing that, she felt utterly aggrieved.

At that moment, Sasha was gripped by the urge to rush out and counter their accusations by telling them the truth. However, she suppressed that urge, knowing that they wouldn't believe her even if she explained things. Instead, they would despise her all the more.

It wasn't until they had left that she walked out of the toilet stall. As she gazed at her image in the mirror, distress swamped her.

In the afternoon, she sense that all her colleagues were looking at her differently. She tried her best to feign ignorance and simply kept her head buried in work, believing that they would one day understand the kind of person she was as long as she worked hard enough.
