I watched in silence as my mate walked down the stairs.
Her eyes refused to meet my own, and the fact that she and Liana shared a glance told me that it was her that convinced her to come.
Liana stood up and walked toward her, smiling as she met her eyes.
"Thank you." Liana said very calmly.
"I should be the one thanking you. I wouldn't be coming down if it weren't for you." Audrey said, making my eyes soften.
Arturo, who was sitting at the head of the table opposite to me, raised an eyebrow, but he did not say a word. The two of us were still not on talking terms, and I knew that he was angry with me. I knew that what happened annoyed him very much.
"Where is Lili?" Audrey asked.
"I am here." The little girl said, smiling at her. She was still in pain, but at least Liana managed to get her to smile. "Auntie Liana promised that if I had dinner, she would give me something to eat as dessert."
