I kept my eyes on Audrey as the two of us walked out of the restaurant, and though I could tell that she wasn't speaking because she didn't want to bother me, I knew that she was more upset than she was letting out.
"Do you want us to go and drink something?" I asked, and she shook her head.
I opened the car door for her, and watched as she got inside. She looked at the seat for a second and got inside, her heart racing against her ribcage. The bruise that was forming o her shoulder was going to need me to check on it later, but I also knew that it was going to be healing a lot faster now that she was somewhat regaining her strength.
"We can go somewhere else, Audrey. You know that this is not the only place that the city has."
