9-New Friends

My alarm wakes me up from my peaceful, dreamless sleep at six sharp. I decided to wake up bright and early to get a handle on the day and my new Alpha duties. There's a lot of paper work that's just been stacking up, that really needs taking care of before it gets too much.

After my usual morning routine that I do every morning, I get dressed into a pair of washed out jean shorts and a white crop top. Satisfied I head next door to Anna's room to grab her. When I poke my head in the beardly open door I see Anna sitting on her bed on her phone. When she sees me she quickly jumps off her bed and swiftly puts her phone in the back pocket of her jeans.

"Coming" Anna said, walking over to where I am stood in her door way. I quickly turn around and start walking down to the last door in the hallway, with a plaque that says Office on it.

I open the door and step inside, the room is pretty big with a large window as the back wall facing the door. There are two mahogany desks a bit in front of the window with chairs tucked underneath them, and a book shelf on the left. To the right there is a three seater couch and a chair with a glass table. The floor is wooden, with a large red mat in the middle of the room covering half of the floor.

On each desk there is 'Alpha' or 'Beta' engraved on the side, and there is a large stack of papers in the corner of each desk. "I guess we better got started then" I said letting out a sigh, and started walking over to the desk with Alpha on it, my shoes squeaking on the wooden floor as I walked.

"Yeah" Anna said following my lead and sitting at the desk with 'Beta' on it. This is gonna be one long ass day.

I opened the first small file and started reading it. It was about the pack borders and border patrol that needed my signature as the go ahead to change the routine. I sighed the bottom and closed it, and put it in a basket on the floor labelled 'Finished'.

I look at the clock above the door as I flip the file about a alliance with the Valupes pack, which is my dad's pack closed making a mental note to call him tomorrow. "Come on, let's go get something to eat and stretch our legs. We've been in here for seven hours and we've finished nearly half of all the paperwork. Come on". I said as I stood up and stretched my limbs.

"You don't have to ask me twice, I was beginning to think you would never ask" Anna said practically jumping out of her seat, clearly eager to get out of here and get food.

As we were making our way down to the kitchen Anna suddenly stops. "Bailey, hey" Anna said walking over to a girl with curly ginger hair and bright green eyes, and embracing her in a tight hug.

"Oh my god, long time no see" Bailey said as they pull away from each other. I'm just standing awkwardly about two feet behind Anna, ugh why do I have to be so awkward. When Bailey sees me her bright green eyes widen. "Alpha, Hannah". She says showing me her neck as a sigh of submission and respect.

"I don't think we've met yet and please just call me Hannah", I said walking over to the red head and sticking my hand out for her to shake.

"Bailey" she said eagerly taking my hand and shaking it firmly. She seemed nice so far, I just hope I don't scare her away.

"We were just about to go get something to eat, do you wanna come" Anna asked. I'm really glad Anna feels comfortable introducing and inviting Bailey, I haven't really met many pack members yet and it would be nice to know people other than Anna and Matt.

"Sure, that would be great" she said a bright smile playing on her lips. We then started walking to the kitchen together a slight smile making an appearance on my face.

When we get to the Kitchen we decided to make chicken nuggets and chips. When we were waiting for the food to be ready I may as well get to know Bailey, or at least make an effort I don't wanna come off as rude. "So tell me a bit about yourself Bailey" I said leaning against the worktop.

"Well there's not that much to tell", she said shrugging her shoulders. "I'm an only child. I help out with training and I do patrol most nights. I'm into girls, guys are just more trouble than there worth, I'm still yet to find my mate though". She said leaning against the island opposite me.

"I'm sure she's not far" I said, offering her a small smile which she returned.

"That's actually perfect though, because Hannah actually needs a trainer. and lets be honest here, you would do a far better job teaching her than me" Anna said standing straight.

"It would be an honour training you Hannah, if that's what you chose". Bailey said standing straight also.

"Of course, just give me a time and I'll be there" I said standing straight also. I watched as Baileys face lit up with raw happiness, I can just imagine what her wolf is doing right now.

"How's seven sharp, every day at the training grounds" Bailey said.

"That's perfect" I said smirking.

"I'm so glad you two are getting along, I was kind of scared you weren't gonna" Anna said checking the food in the oven. I then watched as she turned the oven off by the switch and got out three plates. I got out three glasses and filled them with juice, while Bailey got the cutlery and Anna put the food on the plates and sat them on the table.

After we ate we said goodbye and me and Anna went back up to the office, and finished the rest of the paper work.

When we were finally done with the paper work and I got in bed it was 11:30pm. I quickly set an alarm for the morning and turned off the light. Sleep took me quickly, and soon I fell into a peaceful, dreamless sleep.
