Fighting against the dragon

He was taken aback at this very moment. He had never imagined that he would encounter a dragon in this forest.

"I can't fight it now..." he muttered, quickly turning to flee.

However, all of a sudden, his heart began to ache. "What the hell!" Beads of sweat dripped from his forehead as he felt his head spinning.

A crystalline light began to emit from his chest, and eventually, the very same sword that had transported him to this world surged forth from his body.

"This..." Before he could even articulate his thoughts, he was horrified to witness the sword rapidly increasing in size.

In a matter of seconds, it had grown to match the size of the dragon hovering in the distance.

"Ting," the sound of the sword reverberated throughout the entire forest. The tremors even reached the SkyRise city, miles away.

Every cultivator with a sword as their martial spirit felt their inner spirit quiver within them.

"What in the world is this?" someone shouted, pointing towards the distance. A colossal sword shadow shimmered with various colors emerged.

The tremendous pressure emanating from the sword caused their souls to tremble in panic.

This was an unprecedented blizzard scene, leaving everyone in a state of panic as they contemplated this unknown entity.

Suddenly, a deafening and terrifying dragon roar resonated, accompanied by an ominous darkness that blanketed the sky. Then, a massive black dragon materialized, heading straight for the sword.

"Which master is battling a dragon?" an elderly man on the city wall quivered in fear. He was the current city lord of SkyRise city, a cultivator at the spirit guardian level.

The presence of both these beings sent shivers down his spine.

Asher, this time, was sweating under the pressure of the dragon. "Damn it," he muttered in a low voice.

He had never imagined that this crystal sword would suddenly burst forth from his body to engage the dragon.

He could sense excitement emanating from the crystal sword. He knew that it was eager for a fight. "If you're looking for a fight, why choose a dragon!" he sighed under his breath.

He found it amusing when the sword conveyed a sense of indignation to his mind. Glancing up at the dragon in the sky, a smile crept onto his lips.

He wasn't someone who shied away from a battle. Even though he understood that he didn't stand a chance against this dragon, he would never back down.

"Then let's fight," he roared.

"Ting," the sound of the sword reverberated once more as it rushed into his hand.

When he grasped its hilt, he felt various kinds of energy surging into his body.

He experienced the scorching heat of the fire, the extreme coldness of the ice, the solidity of earth, the gentleness of wind, the corroding darkness, the purifying light, the rifts in space, the flashes of lightning, and finally, an unfamiliar sensation of controlling time around him.

"Nine elements," he murmured in a hushed voice. From his mother's teachings, he knew that there were nine elements in this world that would awaken with martial spirits.

Feeling the power brought forth by these nine elements, his eyes gleamed with a fighting spirit. Gripping the sword now brought memories flooding back of his days fighting in wars.

"Little loach, here I come," he proclaimed with a wicked grin.

Hearing the insult from the weak human in front of it, the dragon roared angrily, its large eyes brimming with killing intent.

As it opened its mouth, a huge black fire spewed forth. But Asher was equally excited at this moment. He discovered that when he held the sword, different skills automatically imprinted in his mind.

Witnessing the black fire emanating from the dragon, his lips parted with a sense of disdain, "Purification."

With those words, the crystal sword in his hand transformed into a blade radiating holy white light.

A tremendous beam of light shot from it toward the black fire, completely cleansing it into nothingness.

"Little loach, your saliva is so weak," he taunted loudly. Observing the dragon's astonished expression, he burst into hearty laughter.

Hearing his insults, the dragon's eyes turned red. This time it attempted to strike him with its long tail. As he saw the tail hurtling towards him, his lips curved upwards.

"Barrier of earth," a low voice emanated from his mouth as a substantial earth barrier materialized in front of him.

"Boom," a deafening sound erupted from the collision, accompanied by a pained roar from the dragon.

Now, its tail was injured beyond imagination, its tough scales crushed by the impact.

This time, the dragon became somewhat fearful when it looked at him. It could sense that the human before it was merely at the Qi refining stage of cultivation. Yet, the martial spirit within his body was something extraordinary.

Watching the retreating dragon, his eyes filled with a smile. "Little loach, how about I deliver a strike?" His words put the dragon on high alert.

"Fire blast," with that command, the sword in his hand emitted a terrifying blaze. As the flames emerged, everything within a thousand meters started to melt.

A colossal inferno of fire surged from his sword, engulfing the entire dragon.

"Roar," the dragon let out a tremendous roar, consumed by extreme horror and agonizing pain.

Observing the dragon's condition, his smile broadened. While gripping the sword, he felt as if he could stand against the entire world.

Suddenly, a loud cry of a female echoed, followed by a pleading voice, "Master, please don't bake me. Wooo..."

He was taken aback by that voice. Gazing ahead, he realized that the voice was coming from the dragon.

"How can you talk?" he blurted out.

"I am a mythical beast. Naturally, I can speak," the female voice responded.

"But why should I help you? Aren't we enemies?" he questioned, rubbing his non-existent beard.

"I'll make a soul contract with you, wooo... Please, this fire is burning me," the dragon pleaded.

At the mention of a soul contract, his interest was piqued. Having a dragon as a companion wouldn't be a bad idea.

Observing his hesitation, the dragon grew anxious. Gritting its teeth, it spat out its beast core towards him. "Imprint your spiritual sense onto it," it weakly instructed.

Staring at the black and white bead now in his hand, he wasted no time imprinting his spiritual sense onto it.

Once he had imprinted his spiritual sense onto the bead, he immediately felt the dragon's pain. Swiftly, he withdrew the fire attribute.
