Scorpius tapped his wand on the security system of Teddy's door and entered his apartment. He made a beeline to the study because that was where Teddy was found usually.
'Why are you against me and Lily?' He said the moment he opened the door. It startled Teddy and the book he was reading fell from his hands.
Sighing upon realizing who had invaded his home he stood up, 'You really need to stop barging in like this.'
'Then change your password.'
'I gave it to you because I trusted you.'
'So now you don't trust me because I'm dating Lily.'
'Stop saying it. I haven't let it sunk in.'
'Ted, what's so wrong in me dating her. Just tell me honestly man.'
'She'd Harry's daughter. That's enough reason for me not being okay with your relationship.'
'But you knew she had a crush on me.'
'I never thought she'd act on her feelings or that you.....'
'Would accept hers?' Teddy nodded.
'I was sure you'd never like her back. But you turned out to be a disappointment.'
Scorpius looked at Teddy and tried to understand why his cousin was behaving this way. He was the most chilled out person in the entire family. Even when he'd spent the majority of his childhood with the Weasleys and potters he'd never been the over-reacting types then why right now he was not understanding his love for Lily.
'Ted be honest with me. Is there something else that's on your mind?' Scorpius asked.
Teddy's eyes were shying away from Scorpius and it was enough of an answer for the latter to know what he suspected was right. There indeed was more to the story than what met the eye.
'Break up with her.' His voice was low as if he didn't wanted to be the reason behind her sadness but didn't have a choice.
'Why? Give me a valid reason and I will.' Scorpius said with a heavy heart. It was Teddy after all, if he was asking him to do something then there must be a strong reason behind it.
Teddy stared into Scorpius eyes and said, 'There's a prophecy. The only thing I can tell you is that, it isn't good and it might be about Lily.'
'Prophecy? About Lily? What does it say? Tell me everything clearly.'
'There is a prophecy under my name which says that someone close to me is going to pay for the pain that I escaped.'
'And you think about it's about Lily?' Scorpius was confused as well as scared hoping that this was all just a misunderstanding.
'Initially I thought that it was about Victoire. Which is why I refused to marry her but then Harry came to talk to me.'
'Mr. Potter knows about the prophecy?' Scorpius asked.
'Now he does. But he confirmed my fears because he heard Lily's prophecy.'
'What did it say?'
'That she was going to be punished for trying to change the fate of the one who was destined to be doomed.'
'I don't understand.'
'I didn't too initially. But after putting in much thought I realized that this might be about me and her.'
'How can this be about you and her Ted. This is confusing. I don't understand a thing right now.'
'It was a year after lily was born that on full moon I started getting more irritated than usual. Then the subsequent year my body started aching as if someone was breaking my bones. Everyone thought that may be my werewolf genes were acting up.'
'But you've never transformed. You're not a werewolf.'
'Correct I'm not but it is because of Lily.'
'What!' Scorpius's mouth fell open.
'Yes. Hermione studied my genes with the help of healers at St. Mungo's and they said that my werewolf genes were being woken up. It happens in a lot of werewolves, they turn much later in life.'
'How did Lily come into all of this?'
'To suppress my werewolf genes again I needed a powerful energy but at the same time it needed to be a pure soul. The other researchers suggested that a baby with magical powers would be my best shot or I would definitely turn.'
'So they used Lily's powers.'
Teddy nodded and continued, 'I was destined to be doomed and Lily changed my fate. Now she'd going to be punished for it.'
'And you think that punishment might be something related to the Malfoys?' Please say no, Scorpius prayed inside.
'Yes. Your father might not be involved in the dark magic anymore but your grandfather still meets his ex-death eater friends every now and then. Who knows they might be planning something evil and I don't want Lily to be involved with any of this.'
'I will never let Lily be involved with any of it either.' Scorpius said immediately.
'Really? But how will you stop your grandfather from hurting her when he'll get to know about you two? Do you think he'll not use this relationship to hurt Harry?'
Scorpius fell silent. No he couldn't. He knew it for he was neither that experienced a wizard to fight his grandfather nor had the will to go against his family. This was already proven because few months back when he was reluctantly made to attend a gathering of ex-death eaters or those followers of Voldemort, yet to be captured. The ceremony that was performed that day was nothing but some useless performance for Scorpius until now. The knowledge about the two prophecies had changed his perception of things and he now knew he needed to take everything into account to decide about his future with Lily.
