Chapter 24

Lilly slowly opened her eyes, her vision blurry with tears. As her vision cleared, she saw Alex standing beside her hospital bed, concern etched on his face.

Without hesitation, he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into a tight embrace.

"Lilly, thank goodness you're awake," Alex whispered, his voice filled with relief.

"Alex you're Alive, I am happy" she said before confusion clouded Lilly's mind as she tried to piece together what had happened.

She looked around the sterile hospital room, the beeping machines and white walls adding to her disorientation. "Alex, where am I?" she asked, her voice trembling.

"You're in the hospital," he replied gently. "You were found unconscious and brought here. Do you remember anything?"

Lilly's heart raced as she tried to recall the events leading up to her hospitalization. "The last thing I remember is receiving a call from an unknown person, informing me of your death," she said, her voice choked with emotion. "After that, everything else is blank."

Alex's face darkened with anger, his eyes narrowing. "I knew it," he muttered under his breath.

Confused and frightened, Lilly searched his face for answers. "What do you mean, Alex? Who would do this to us?"

The temperature in the room seemed to drop as Alex's anger intensified. "There's someone behind all of this, someone who wants to hurt us," he said through gritted teeth.

"But don't worry, Lilly, we'll find out who it is and make them pay." He didn't want to tell her yet, so he his the fact that he knew it was the Qin family that was behind all these

Lilly felt a shiver run down her spine, both from the chilling atmosphere in the room and the determination in Alex's voice.

She knew he would do whatever it took to protect her, but the thought of someone intentionally causing them harm sent a wave of fear through her.

Just then, Kyle, his brother, entered the room carrying a tray of food. He had been keeping an eye on Lilly while she was unconscious, providing support to both her and Alex during this difficult time. Seeing Lilly awake, he smiled warmly.

"Hey, Lilly, I brought you some food," Kyle said, placing the tray on the bedside table. "I figured your tummy must be rumbling after all this time."

Lilly managed a weak smile, grateful for Kyle's thoughtfulness. "Thank you, Kyle. I appreciate it."

Kyle nodded, understanding the seriousness of the situation.

He wanted to offer Lilly a place to stay, to ensure her safety, but he didn't want to make her feel awkward or impose on her during this vulnerable time.

Instead, he decided to approach the subject delicately, he knew that was exactly what Alex had in mind, so he was going to help him.

"Lilly, once you're discharged from the hospital, you're more than welcome to stay at our place," Kyle offered, his voice filled with concern. "I just want to make sure you're safe."

Lilly's eyes widened, touched by Kyle's offer. She turned and looked at Alex, she saw him pleading with her in his eyes to accept the offer, she smiled and turned to Kyle "Thank you, Kyle," she replied softly. "Maybe you guys can't go grab some of my stuff from my home."

Alex finally breathed out, he didn't even notice he was holding his breath.

The doctor walked in and checked OK Lilly, seeing he was okay and ready to be discharged he asked Kyle to follow him and complete the discharge procedure, while Alex stayed to help her change.

Alex carried her in his hand, she tried to talk to him telling him to drop her, but he didn't listen she was so shy she hid her face in his chest.

The nurses were all envious of her, most people in the hospital deemed them as a loving couple, Alex was all smiles when he heard the compliment, when they arrived at the car, he slowly helped her seat and then he entered, while Kyle drove but they decided to make at stop at Lilly's house to grab a dew things.

She quickly got down from the car to avoid Alex carrying her, she entered her apartment and gathered a few clothes, and most necessities. After she was done she closed her luggage, as she was about to leave the house, she bumped into Jane.

"Jane, what are you doing here?" She asked.

Jane had her head held down, tears rolling from her cheeks, Lilly was shocked and worried she didn't know why Jane was crying, "what wrong Jane talk to me".

She slowly raised her head "Lilly Help me" she slowly fell to the ground unconscious.

Rachel immediately screamed for help, startled by her scream they both ran to the scene.
