Ain Soph Aur: The Holy Maiden's wish (DxD X Fate Fic)

Everyone is aware of the three-way war between angels, devils, and fallen angels but what sparked such bloodbath that leads devils’ annihilation. Read the story of a mysterious boy and his journey with Jeanne d’Arc, the holy maiden whose selfish wish became a disaster for the supernatural of the DxD world. ---- Now then here is my other work. I will try to write and make this story as much good as my previous one so please remain positive. I have no idea if I could even add a harem of DxD standard but I will try. Please note that most of the story will follow a timeline before 500 years old war. MC will be weak but soon become incredibly strong so don’t even try to complain about it. --- English is not my first language. Nothing in the story belongs to me. Even I don’t belong to society. Important!: Various mythologies will be discussed that include some religious figures so if you find anything inappropriate or offending, please let me know. Chapter 15: Meeting with Charles VII

"When you have a birthday, you celebrate being born."

A certain red haired twerp from Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya

===

(Mael's POV)

April 1429

"So you are Jeanne d'Arc that our big brother so boasts about?"

"Humph, you don't look like otherworldly beauty that Mr. Mael had stated?"

Those were the cruel words of two chipmunks, Ivan and Sona who were showing their remarks about my future wife, Jeanne. They were acting like my parents who for some reason don't like my choice of girl.

"Hehe, I know. Mael usually brags a lot. He also said that he has taken two extremely cute and strong children under him."

However, Jeanne on the other hand was unfathomed by the children's rude remarks.

"Really?!"

Both of them immediately let go of their previous actions and smiled confidently.

"Of course not~. You are also just a bunch of ordinary children~."

And here we go, Jeanne was not a woman to back down without a fight.

"Why you!"

"Humph, you are just jealous since I am prettier than you. Of course, I will be the one to marry Brother Mael." Sona snorted and confessed her future goals.

"Oh really? Looks like someone is already thinking of making a harem?" Jeanne spoke in an extremely cold voice and her tone was directed towards me.

"You know, I am still present here and it looks like people don't appreciate my kindness. How about I stop cooking for a month?" I, who was also sitting with them, spoke with one eye open.

"Eh!"

They first freaked out then immediately changed their behavior to friendly one and became friends instantly.

They knew that I am the only one they can't effort to mess with.

"Sir Mael is indeed a man favored and cherished by mass. No wonder you are connected to the oracle who speaks with God." Gilles spoke who was in the same carriage as us.

He was the first person to believe in Jeanne after just speaking with her.

At first, he also ignored the matter of Jeanne like others but when he met Jeanne he immediately offered his help to accompany her in any of her quests.

"Lord Gilles, you are too kind." I smiled and decided to discuss plans.

At the time, we were on our way towards the city of Chinon where the useless Charles VII was stationed.

She didn't show herself but I already started to hear some rumors where loyal family and other ministers started calling her a witch or magician.

We had expected this kind of reaction from them as it was only natural for humans to not believe in any of this. Even people from church were no exceptions.

In the end, it was all about greed. If there is a saint who emerges like this them she had to be provided with soldiers, horses, and money, in warring times, where else you can expect the cut if not from the pocket of these ministers and royal families.

After another hour of the stroll, we could finally see the gate city of Chinon, short walls, and a rundown gate with few guards protecting it. If you were a normal citizen then no one would believe that the future king was living there.

Anyway, we immediately wore our cloaks since her identity was not to be disclosed until she met the Prince.

Gilles went out to finish the procedure while Ivan and Sona left with a nun to church.

I looked at Jeanne who seemed a little nervous. "Are you scared?"

She smiled and shook her head, "No, just a little nervous."

I sighed then gently held her hand and with wariness on my face, I looked in her eyes, "Jeanne, we still have time. Think about it one more time. We can still get out of it."

I didn't know why but I always felt uneasy about her decision about becoming a saint and leading soldiers in war. Not because she is just a girl but I had a feeling there seemed to be a huge conspiracy silently lying beneath the surface.

"Mael, I am positive. I know the future will not be a kind one but I don't want to have regrets." She smiled then came closer and kissed my cheek with a flustered yet confidant face. "Just believe in me and yourself. We can do it."

I nodded and smiled, "Yeah."

Beginning of my sufferings. Was it a mistake?

---

(3rd person's POV)

Jeanne d'Arc silently entered the royal palace in the presence of all the officials of France.

Sanding on the gate, she saw a long red carpet starting from the gate and ending right beneath the foot of the throne of the king.

"So this country girl is said to be the oracle?"

"She looks quite ordinary."

"I think she looks good."

"Maybe she is really a witch."

The audience in the room began to mutter when their sight fell on Jeanne's face first time. They didn't even have any intention to hide their disgust towards a country bumpkin dares to set foot on the royal palace.

However, she was not an ordinary girl that could back down just like that. She was trained for years all for this moment to prove her worth.

She first turned around and glanced at her beloved Mael who was standing outside the gate right beside Gilles de Rais.

'Thank you, Mael.' She smiled and thanked the man who had supported her for all these years without any question. Even backing her in this suicide mission, not many men would allow their women for this but Mael not only loves Jeanne but also respect her choice.

'Dear Lord, please guide me.' She then prayed to god before taking a deep breath.

She started to walk towards the throne where the king was sitting.

However, when she went near the throne and saw the face of supposed Charles VII, she felt something was weird.

The person looked terrified and his eyes were also panicking not even looking at Jeanne properly.

She immediately realized that the person sitting on the throne was not Charles VII.

She smiled and first time opened her mouth and said, "You are a good person but where is Charles VII?"

!!!

Every single person dropped their jaws when she said that. Isn't she a countryside girl who let alone see a king, didn't even know how a king should look like?

Jeanne indeed didn't know about the king or how he looked like. Even Mael didn't see him clearly when he was informing her about loyal standings neither do Eliza spoke anything about it.

It was her blessing that was given to her by Eliza, to recognize the people. She can immediately understand whether a person is a good or evil, noble or commoner, and so on.

(AN: Previously, I stated that it is Jeanne's own skill but I changed it now.)

So it didn't take her long to summarize that she was being tested here.

Then no one answered her question. Those who were badmouthing before began to sweat and started looking elsewhere.

Jeanne also looked around and spotted a single person wearing quite ordinary wear like the rest.

She gently walked towards the said person, bent down on a knee, and spoke with genteelly, "Your highness, my name is Jeanne d'Arc and I have a message from our Dear Lord. Message for the victory of our glorious France."

"…"

Pin drop silence took place in the hall.

"How….? Ah, I see. Then welcome to my humble residence, Lady Jeanne d'Arc." The person smiled and spoke politely before bowing his head in return. The person was indeed the Charles VII

Jeanne d'Arc is really a saint!!!

The hall exploded with uproar and applause for Jeanne who just passed her first exam impressing the audience in awe.

After that Jeanne was lead to another quiet room along with Mael and Gilles de Rais.

She then sat down on a table facing Charles VII for the talk.

"Is it true that you can see angels?" Charles smiled. Although he seemed polite, sarcasm was not well hidden.

"Yes. I can see them. Not only that but I also have a message to save France from enemies and to take Charles VII to the historic city of Reims and put the crown on his head." Jeanne spoke without even a slight hint of uneasiness.

Charles got greatly impressed with her. Not many commoners could speak to a king like that but then again, if Jeanne was the said oracle, she must be greatly tutored to speak in such a manner.

"Then what does Lady Jeanne think I should do?" Charles asked.

Jeanne smiled and then laid her entire plan right in front of Charles. She just asked for a horse for herself, some weapons, and soldiers to break the British siege outside Orleans.

"Very well then. I am sorry but I still would like to believe in the results. I will fulfill your demands with full support for the time being." Charles smiled and spoke.

"No, your highness. You are too kind to even listen to me. I will return with the victory in my hand." Jeanne smiled.

They conversed for a while before excusing from the meeting.

---

(Mael's POV)

I was worriedly roaming in a room and praying for her safe return.

After the meeting, we were given separate rooms but she promised to see me before nightfall.

However, she still hadn't contacted me.

Then after waiting for a few more minutes, I heard a soft knock.

I opened the door and immediately dragged the person inside.

"Do you want to kill with the wait?!" I said hugging my lovely wife who also gently wrapped her hands around me.

"Idiot, I am just a minute late. It was hard to look for the right moment, you know…?" She twitched her lips and rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, yeah. Miss Jeanne is a saint now. How could she have time for this poor person?" I rolled my eyes while leading her towards the bed.

"Don't say that. Remember, you are my biggest support." She puffed her cheek cutely.

I chuckled silently before wrapping my left hand around her waist but not before touching her soft round butt.

"Mael, you pervert." Jeanne blushed while looking at my uprising superstar.

I think she must have learned 'Dawae of adult' from Eliza since we both were at the age of poverty.

"Sorry, sorry~"

We both laughed then took a deep breath in each other's embrace.

From the next day onwards, she would be going to act like a saint and it will be hard for us to spent time like this since the saint was supposed to be a person without any human desires and only had to think for the people.

It was one reason I didn't want Jeanne to become or act like one in the first place. According to Eliza, it was essential for her since soldiers will not dare to look at her with lust but as a leader.

However, Eliza already promised to wed us after the war or when we would turn 18. It is not anywhere in the bible that a saint cannot marry.

(AN: I haven't found it though. If you know something then share the source.)

We stayed like that for a while and talked about various plans that we would be going to use in the war next.

A war that would raise the name of Jeanne d'Arc in history.
