"Hey Sirius, do you think that in order to survive, we will have to kill people? You do know that it is difficult for us to survive and people like us, I heard… Some people kill others in order to get food or water. Money is also a huge reason, so tell me, do you think we will have to kill to survive."
A boy said with a troubled look on his face. The boy was covered in rags and had dirt all over his face. The unique thing about this boy was his eyes, they were gold.
The golden-eyed boy and Sirius were talking in a dark alley where only shady deals happen in that place.
Sirius looked in the sky and saw many stars glistening in the night sky. He stayed silent at the question of his friend.
"Of course not!"
A high and squeaky voice was heard.
Sirius and the golden-eyed boy looked at the girl next to them and slightly smiled as if they expected that response from her.
"That is why I asked Sirius, you bozo." The golden-eyed boy chuckled.
"You are a bozo, you-you," The girl was having trouble thinking of a comeback and took a minute, but she eventually found one, "You dummy!"
All of them laughed.
Sirius then responded to the question the golden-eyed boy asked him, "I think to survive, we must do anything."
Sirius's eyes turned melancholy. "However, you must have a line, a line that you must never cross because if you don't, well, you never know how far you can go."
"Then it is good that we never killed anybody right?" The girl said cheerfully.
"But we have hurt people, who know, maybe we indirectly caused deaths." The golden-eyed boy had a bitter expression on his face that already showed how he felt about that.
Sirius waved his hand and wanted to stop this increasingly depressing atmosphere, "Alright, alright, stop this. We all know that we did what we did to survive, and it is fine since we are alive, and we must stay that way."
However, it seems the golden-eyed boy didn't want to let it go, "Then what if one day, to survive, we have to cross that line?"
Sirius sighed and looked straight into the boy's golden eyes, "Then it's simple, we cross it."
…
" Kill this man."
"What?"
"I am telling you to kill this man."
"Why?" Death isn't anything new to Sirius but directly killing someone is. Killing someone was his line, the line that he swore he would never cross.
"If you can't kill this man then I won't teach you anymore."
"!!" Sirius was thinking about saying yes and crossing the line that he promised he would never cross but then a picture of his mother appeared in his mind.
"I'm sorry, I can't do it." Sirius couldn't look at Zero in shame.
"Then you will die." Zero grabbed the spear on his back and pointed it at Sirius. "I told you before that if you won't follow my orders, you die.
Sirius was currently in a daze that he had to choose between his line or survival and ultimately, he chose survival.
Zero, seeing Sirius's eyes retreated from his spear and took an ax that was on the
the weapon stood next to the podium and dropped it before Sirius's feet.
Zero didn't say anything but just stepped back and watched Sirius.
Sirius hesitantly picked up the ax that weighed a bunch with much difficulty and walked to the side of the chained man.
"Hey! Are you really going to let a kid finish me off?! That is insulting! Get a man to kill me instead of a boy who hasn't even grown his hair yet!"
The chained man was struggling to escape the humiliation of being executed by a child.
"I'm sorry." Sirius's hands started to shake.
Sirius repeated those words as he got ready to commit his first kill in both lives.
'I will try to give you a painless death, that is the least I can do for you.'
Sirius pulled the axe handle on his shoulder and finally dropped it right on the man's neck. Unfortunately, even with the weight of the axe and the amount of power that went behind the drop, it wasn't enough.
The axe got stuck in the top of the man's back, right below the neck and he started screaming out in hellish pain. The chained man fell forward and landed on his stomach.
The crowd immediately got rowdy and screamed out in joy and excitement in watching such a brutal execution.
Sirius, seeing that he made a mistake and didn't give the man the painless death he wanted, panicked.
He made a quick decision and quickly took out a sword from the weapon stand and went in front of the man who was screaming his life out and would eventually die.
Sirius looked and then took his sword and stabbed the man in the back where his heart was located and quickly ended his life.
"YEAHHHHH!!" The crowd went wild and started screaming and laughing at the bloody scene.
Sirius dropped the bloody sword, and his hands began to shake even more as if an earthquake was the cause of it.
Sirius's eyes never left the body of his first victim, and he stared in a daze.
Zero slowly walked up to Sirius and chopped his neck and made him pass out. The last thing Sirius saw was the blood dropping off the stage and the last thing he heard was the crowds cheering.
'I hate this world.'
Zero took Sirius's unconscious body and walked away from the commotion and made his way somewhere else.
He held pity for the child since he had one about the same age as Sirius and didn't want to see his daughter the same way as Sirius but there is a difference between want and need.
However, Zero could see that Sirius was different, he didn't know how or why but he could tell.
Zero looked at Sirius and saw his face was scrunched up and he was frowning which he realized that Sirius was probably having a nightmare, maybe about what he had just done.
'The strong rule the weak and I hope one day, you will become the strong.'
