The light from the streetlamp cascaded down from above Zhou Shi's head.
It softened his stern demeanor, and his gaze revealed a hint of tenderness.
Caught off guard by the confession, He Zhiwei felt only a moment of surprise.
Without bashfulness or retreat, she met Zhou Shi's gaze and calmly responded, "I refuse."
"Give me a reason."
"We're not suitable for each other."
"How do you know we're not suitable without trying?"
Zhou Shi's expression remained unchanged. Despite being rejected by He Zhiwei, he was unhurried, "My car is at your disposal."
"I don't want it."
A flicker of temptation crossed her mind, but He Zhiwei suppressed her stirring heart.
It was just a car, she shouldn't be so weak-willed.
He Zhiwei silently admonished herself.
"Is there something about me that you're dissatisfied with?" Zhou Shi asked again.
"Nothing specific, I just feel we're not suitable. It's late, I'm going home."
Having said that, He Zhiwei didn't dawdle and turned to run back home.
