The crimson flashed in Liara's eyes. "Is that…?"
I reached for her hands. Unlike this morning, she didn't pull away, which was a relief because Liara pulling away from me right after I realized how badly I'd messed up was an experience I didn't want to repeat twice in a single day.
"It's the cure," I said, smiling at her. "I told you I would keep my promise."
Unsurprisingly, my betrothed wasn't smiling back at me. Instead, I saw hesitation flash on Liara's face. It came immediately after the desire that I also noticed because I'd had a similar face back when I first discovered what Fenrisúlfr had done to me. It was a desire to no longer be 'unclean' as some zealots might call our cursed states.
