CHAPTER 2: Sacrifice And The Dryad

Lilith and Veronica (Dragon form) flew from the top to the bottom of a great volcano. When they are about to reach the ground, Lilith noticed something below from the distance.

Lilith: Veronica! look

Veronica: A crowd of humans?

Veronica: What are they doing here?...

Lilith: Let's land somewhere they can not see us first...

The girls landed kilometers away from the group of humans and then started to walk closer to them.

They carefully watch the humans, on what kind of rituals are they performing.

Veronica: This place is too dangerous for humans to explore

Lilith: What do you mean?

Veronica: There are... many high ranking monsters residing in this area

Veronica: And look... They are not even armed with weapons to protect themselves...

Veronica: What are they up to?...

Moments have been passed, and the ritual has ended; Two of the members of the group took something on their caravan. It's a boy with ragged clothes and chains on his neck and feet.

Lilith: Slave Sacrifice!?...

Lilith: I see... They are not just a group of travelers.

Lilith: They are a cult trying to summon a demon.

Veronica: What?

Lilith: They want to make a contract with a demon and I'm sure that boy will be the sacrifice

Veronica: eh?...

Lilith: Yeah... No wonder why the pattern of that circle they made is kinda familiar

When the group of humans called the demon for the offering, Lilith and Veronica sensed an evil magic power.

Veronica: Lilith?

Lilith: Yeah it's here...

The two looked up in the sky as they sensed that something is coming from above...

The summoning ritual is successful. They summoned a giant gargoyle, one of the demonic beasts.

Cult Leader: O great evil one, we are grateful you have come

Cult Leader: please lend us your great power.

Gargoyle: Everything has a price...

Gargoyle: For now I want a flesh and soul of a human being...

Cult Leader: Don't worry O great one

Cult Leader: We prepared an offer that what you exactly want right now

Cult Leader: Men, bring me the child...

He received no response behind him.

Cult Leader: I said... BRING ME THE CHILD!!!

when the cult leader turned around, he saw his men unconscious laying on the ground and the boy is missing.

Meanwhile...

Veronica: This is bad...

Veronica: the boy will get devoured if we don't do something...

Veronica: Lilith... have any plan?...

When Veronica looked at Lilith beside her, she was gone.

Veronica: she's not here...

Veronica: Lilith... Where did you go?

Veronica heard Lilith's voice, not from afar...

Lilith: Veronica run!!!....

Veronica saw Lilith running towards her, carrying the boy on her back.

Veronica: WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU, IDIOT!?...

When the Cult Leader and the Gargoyle noticed her, they started to chase her.

Cult Leader: GET BACK HERE!!!

Cult Leader: YOU LITTLE RAT!!!

Cult Leader: YOU THINK YOU CAN GET AWAY FROM ME?!!

Gargoyle: Back off...

Gargoyle: I will chase them myself

Gargoyle: She took my meal away from me Gargoyle: Now I will devour them both

Gargoyle flew and goes after Lilith.

Veronica: I will kill him

Lilith: Don't!

Veronica: Why not?

Lilith: Gargoyle can explode themselves

Lilith: That can damage a huge area...

Veronica: So what?

Lilith: I smell a lot of humans near in this area

Veronica: A village?

Lilith: Probably...

Veronica: Goddammit!!!

Lilith: Anyway let's just lure it for now

Lilith: Where we can kill it without any worries

Veronica: If I don't care about humans

Veronica: I will turn that thing into pieces

Lilith and Veronica kept running until they saw a mysterious forest ahead.

Lilith: This forest...

Veronica: I haven't seen this forest before...

Lilith: What extreme magical power flowing in this place?...

Lilith: There is probably something inside of this forest...

Lilith: Veronica follow me where exactly I go

Lilith: Don't you let yourself miss, even one of my steps...

Veronica: Understood...

The two went inside the forest by hopping through tree branches.

Veronica: (She looks like following some pattern on where we will go...)

Veronica: (She carrying someone on her back)

Veronica: (Yet she's still moving fast as hell)

Lilith: Veronica prepare yourself

Lilith: I feel something strong magic ahead of us

Moments later, Lilith and Veronica finally got out of the woods and entered the plains in the center of the forest where there is a giant tree is placed. But the gargoyle flew above the forest and easily found them running in the plains. The two saw a beautiful lady standing alone near the giant tree. As they get closer, the two sensed an extremely magic power coming from her, much greater than they have...

When they are close enough to identify who she is they saw a Green-haired lady with pointy ears

Veronica: Dryad?

Lilith: Ummm... Hahahaha

Lilith: Sorry about the intrusion

Lilith: But...

Dryad: (Huh? How did they get in here)

Dryad: (Dragon, Human Child, and...

Lilith: Can you do something about that thing chasing us?

Dryad: eh?

Veronica: She said if we fight that thing

Veronica: It will explode

Veronica: And can affect a huge area

Lilith: Please we counting on you...

Dryad: That thing... can destroy a huge area?...

Lilith: Indeed it is...

Dryad: then... WHY THE HELL DID YOU BRING THAT IN HERE?!!!

Dryad: (This is not good this forest will get blown up anytime)

Dryad: ( tsk... looks like I have no choice, it's my duty to protect this place also)

Dryad: (And these idiots...)

When the two get past the dryad they stopped running and watched the dryad on how she will deal with that beast. Then the gargoyle started to attack from above

Dryad: You two!...

Dryad: Do not expect you will get away easily after this *Looks at them menacingly*

The dryad slightly sway her hand, and suddenly, the gargoyle stopped moving in midair before it reach the land.

Gargoyle: I... can't move...

Gargoyle: You bitch what... did you...

Dryad: Isn't only natural for you not to move?

Gargoyle: Huh?...

Dryad: Because... You are already dead

The moment the dryad says it, the gargoyle's body has been shattered into pieces.

Dryad: Wind magic [Arial Blade]

Dryad: Be grateful...

Dryad: That the low-class beast like you...

Dryad: Will become nutrients in this forest.

The two behind her were amused by what they saw and gave her a round of applause.

Lilith: Miss dryad you are amazing

Lilith: That lines are so... COOOOOL!!! *Thumbs up*

Veronica: We appreciated that you saved us from that thing

Veronica: Thank you...

The dryad menacingly looks at them. She approached the two with very intimidating magic power.

Dryad: A Celestial Dragon, Human Slave

Dryad: and an Irregular...

Veronica: (Irregular?)

Veronica: (Wait Lilith is an Irregular?)

Dryad: You two are strong enough to become a threat to this world...

Lilith: eh?

Lilith: we can?

Veronica: Shhhh quiet she still speaking

Lilith: Veronica?...

Veronica: What?

Lilith: Are we that dangerous?

Veronica: I DON'T KNOW!!!

Dryad: And yet you choose to run instead of fighting that lowly creature and come into my forest?...

Dryad: Hey are you two listening to me?

Lilith: Yeah we do listen

Veronica: Yeah sorry *smiles*

Veronica: *Whispering* You idiot, keep your mouth shut while she is in talk

Veronica: Or she will turn us into fertilizer as well in this forest If she gets angry

Lilith: Who cares, you should answer my question first so I will shut up

Veronica: YOUR QUESTION IS NONSENSE!

Veronica: YES IT IS!!!

Lilith: it is too late now...

The Dryad seems pissed off and disrespected at what they did to her.

Lilith: I guess we fucked up now *Scared*

Veronica: Isn't it your fault? *Scared*

Lilith: Yes Forgive me

Dryad: Ohhh?

Dryad: You two done on your chit chat?...

Dryad: Are you two intentionally messing up with me?

Lilith: What?

Veronica: o-of course not

The Dryad releases extreme magic that can intimidate the two.

Dryad: First you intrude on this forest

Dryad: Then bring a beast that leads this forest in danger

Dryad: Now this is the first time I feel disrespected right in my territory.

Dryad: Answer me... Celestial Dragon... Irregular...

Dryad: What are your intentions in this place?

Dryad: Speak!.
