Chapter 10

She pulled out the flash drive from the laptop then closed it and set it aside. She laid back on the bed and covered her head trying to stop herself from crying. It took Jin about fifteen minutes to return and he was holding a plastic bag of food. When he walked to the bed Tinashe was still lying down and had her eyes closed. He sat on the chair next to the bed and patted her forehead gently making her open her eyes. "You took long."

"I went to take it myself." He pulled the table of the hospital bed then took out the food. This time he had bought porridge, "It's not as tasty as lasagne and chicken but it's almost there."

Tinashe nodded and sat up with his help. She couldn't help looking at him differently. The man fed her the porridge patiently and like he did before, he ate the leftovers. After putting away the containers he sat on the bed and held her hands, "Can we please talk?"

Her attitude had toned down a lot. She couldn't even summon her anger anymore. "About what?"

He was silent for a while as if weighing his words before saying, "Can you please not ask dad to take you away?" he looked into her eyes earnestly, "Please, he only left you here because I asked him to and I promised him to make it up to you. Can you please give me that chance to make it up to you and to prove my love?"

Tinashe pulled her hands from his then said, "Take your shirt off."

"What?" he sounded a little confused with her demand.

"Take off your shirt." She repeated and Jin seemed stunned and couldn't say anything for a while.

"Why?"

"I know you are hurt." She folded her arms, "Be fast. I already pressed the emergency button." The moment she finished speaking the doctor walked in. "Please take a look at my husband's wounds." She said and the doctor was stunned but knowing how valued she was by Jin, he didn't argue and walked to him.

Jin took his shirt off and when she saw the wounds on his torso, tears flooded her eyes and she looked away. She couldn't find the courage to look at his body the whole time he was being treated and only turned again when she was pulled into his arms from behind after the doctor left. "I'm sorry, my love. But can you please not go? Don't leave me please?" he said softly in her ear.

Tinashe sobbed leaning into his embrace but then pulled away again then turned to face him, "Does it hurt a lot? You didn't break anything, did you?"

Jin sat closer to her and wiped her tears, "I'm fine. It doesn't even hurt that much anymore. What hurts is that you want to leave me and you thought Amelia was my mistress. Do I really look like the kind of person to have an extra marital affair?"

She knew he was lying about his wounds. It had only been four days and some of them still looked fresh yet he tried by all means to not show his pain. She scoffed wiping her tears, "If only you could be mean again."

"How can I?" he smiled faintly, "I love you. I understand now why I was so bothered by you."

She looked up at him, "Why?"

"Do you remember the first day we met?"

"I met you at my house. You came with your parents and I was peeking at you from upstairs and you didn't seem to completely hate the idea of marriage but when I came down and you saw my face, you completely changed." She scoffed, "Did you really hate my face so much?"

The man chuckled, "You are an idiot that's why I thought I hated you but now I can't even hate you anymore. I realised being a little silly is your nature."

She rolled her eyes and pushed him away gently, "You are the idiot, Han."

He frowned, "What did you call me?"

"Han, you said you wanted me to call you Mr Han."

"My love, you can call me anything but that." He said, "How about sweetheart? Darling?" he shook his head thoughtfully, "Too may people call me that. Jin Nan sounds really nice when it's coming from you."

Tinashe laughed, "Goodness, now you love me? I just can't think of anything that would make you hate my face so much." She clocked her tongue, "I'm the most beautiful woman I know."

He chuckled, "You have always been narcissistic that's why you don't even remember the first time we met."

"Did we meet before you came to my house?" she asked curiously, "That's ridiculous because I don't even remember you."

"Woman, we even argued. How bad is your memory?" he said.

"Are you sure you aren't mistaken?"

"After our marriage I always knew you were pretending to be nice and sweet." He patted her head lovingly, "We were at your family's hotel in Cape Town, the same hotel we went to for our honeymoon. Do you remember now?"

"No."

"Oh my God, what a waste." He shook his head. "I was there for business and so were you. The man I was doing business with put aphrodisiac in my wine so that he will give me his daughter and then blackmail me but I fled from them both and went to book a room. I found a woman lying on the bed in that room and she was completely drunk so when she saw me she started complimenting me and threw herself at me. I locked the door and set up a camera and took a video of us...making love."

Tinashe scoffed, "So why are you telling me all this after talking about your love for me?"

"Oh my God you are so stupid." He poked his head gently but a bit resentfully, "I could have hated you all my life for not remembering and you wouldn't even have known. You called me a gigolo when you woke and threw five thousand US dollars in cash then a debit card with more than one hundred thousand dollars. You even said I didn't have morals."

Her eyes widened in realisation, "No way, you..."

"Yes, that guy whom you fought with and even punched before you left when I was just trying to make it up to you even if you had seduced me." He smiled, "The guy whose marriage proposal you turned down and yet I came back with the title of Han Corporation CEO and you were smitten. How can you forget the person who took your first time?" he asked bitterly.

Her face turned a red hue and she giggled uncomfortably, "It was you five months ago? But how could I have remembered? I wanted to give everything to my husband and an irresponsible night made all my efforts go in vain." She couldn't even face him anymore, "So that's why you hated me, huh? You thought I liked you because I knew we were at the same level?"

Jin narrowed his eyes slightly, "Isn't it why you fell for me in the first place and then it turned out to be real feelings?"

"No, my dad didn't even tell me a lot about you. He just told me you were a former special forces soldier like me and your dad was his friend." She told him, "I peeked at you from upstairs and you were handsome and respectful."

"There are a lot of handsome and respectful guys in your life. Why did you fall for me?"

She shrugged, "I don't know. I just did. You didn't even smile at me and were freezing cold to me. I really don't know why I fell for you." She asked curiously, "What about you?"

"You punched me after seducing me and took my chastity. You literally threw money at my face and called me a gigolo but I still fell for you right there and I hated you at the same time." he said helplessly.

Tinashe laughed, "Chastity? Oh come on. You don't really believe that I'll trust it was your first time too?"

"Do I look like a playboy?" he drew his face near hers, "I understand why you would think that. I'm so hot and popular."

She was speechless, "Mr Han, stop being narcissistic." She bit her lower lip in embarrassment then said. "I'm sorry for punching you and calling you a gigolo. You definitely didn't need one hundred and fifty five thousand that time, right?"

"Nope but when you didn't even remember me I took it as a gift and bought myself a tuxedo I wore at our wedding." He chuckled, "I'm sorry for being too upset for a long time, my lovely Mrs Han." He said leaning closer to her and placed his hand on her belly, "Do you know what the doctor told me yesterday when I asked him when you'll wake up?"

"What?"

He chuckled, "You really are a bit silly." He lowered his head and pressed his lips on her belly, "How do you get to being five months pregnant without knowing?"

"What? " she was stunned.

The man nodded, "He didn't even tell me until yesterday because he thought I knew already yet here I am with this wife who doesn't even know her own body. You are really something else." He teased and seeing Tinashe's shock he took her into his arms, "We are going to be parents to twins." The woman in his arms was even more shocked and as if to get support she leaned even closer to him forgetting about his wounds. She was five months pregnant. It was the best gift she had ever had.

After she calmed down, Jin knelt on one knee and took out the blue diamond ring, "Tinashe, will you stay as my Mrs Han in this lifetime and love me and let me love you until our time on earth ends?"

Tinashe nodded while laughing in tears. "Yes." And she watched him slip the ring on her finger and drop a kiss on her hand before he got up and captured her lips with his. "If you really took a video of that night you better delete it." She said when he finally let go.

The man smiled mischievously, "Not before you see how you seduced me and how we conceived our babies."

She hit his chest, "You are so shameless! That's perverted!"

"If you want it to be deleted get well soon so that we can watch it together and get it over with." He said, "I usually watch it when I miss that night but I haven't watched it with you yet. I can't let you miss out."

Tinashe was left speechless. She wasn't even that eager to get well any more if that video was the one waiting for her. Still she loved this new relationship with Jin that they seemed to share everything and had nothing to hide like before when they were full of anger and resentment. Seeing his mischievous look she laughed wrapping her as around his neck and kissed his lips. It was as if to seal the marriage forever without any resentment or one sided love they both thought they were involved in.
