Chapter 89 An adventurer and his God

*a few moments earlier*

Hades, along with the trio of Heracles, Thor, and Buddha, who were leading the familia and gods in taking control over the panic, felt a powerful fear grip their bodies.

It was instantaneous, like lightning striking their very core. The primal fear was now starting to take over, growing larger with each passing second.

"T-that... DAMN IDIOT!!!" A violent burst of godly aura exploded out of Heracles. The primal fear could only be attributed to the primal spear that August was wielding. It was clear to Heracles, a former wielder of a Theïkó óplo, what was happening.

"Control yourself, Heracles!" Hades's voice cut through the air. "Pull your aura back; there are civilians here!"

Heracles glared at Hades, his heart pounding in his chest. "DENKI!!!" He yelled while locking eyes with the old god.

Denki ran beside his god, sweating buckets. He could feel the primal fear, but not to the extent of how the gods were feeling it. No, he was sweating for a different reason. Heracles's aura was so dense that even standing, much less walking, was taking everything Denki had.

"Lord Heracles," Denki stuttered as he stood beside his god.

"Get my mace and meet me at the amphitheater! Make it quick." Heracles's voice was angry; Denki could feel it. The young samurai could only gulp and nod as he ran.

"ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND!!!" Hades screamed, unable to control his anger. It was hard to do so because of Beowulf's mana clinging to the air. "I explicitly told you why you can't join the fi-"

"SHUT UP!!!" Heracles cut Hades off, shocking both mortals and gods in the area. Even Thor and Buddha were taken aback by Heracles's tone. "If you want to stop me, then you are free to try. If not, get the hell out of my way!" His voice was cold, letting everyone know that there was no stopping him now.

"Let me remind you what happens if you die! Your child will lose his fal-"

*BOOM!*

Hades's words were cut off by a fist landing in his abdomen. He couldn't even see what happened; he fell to his knees and looked up, only to see the god of strength looking down coldly at him. "Y-you are making a terrible mistake!"

"Maybe so... But I will not lose my child!" Heracles began to move, but on his first step, multiple adventurers from Hades's familia surrounded him.

"Well, I'm sorry, Heracles..." Hades slowly got to his feet, still shaky from the power of Heracles's punch. "But I can't let you leave here."

The adventurers from Hades's familia all let their mana roar, determined to stop the god.

"Oho... What do we have here?" A playful voice made the adventurers look to the side, finding Buddha smirking as he playfully twirled his bo-staff. "You seem to forget that he isn't alone. Isn't that right, fat man?"

"Buddha, call me fat one more time, and this hammer will find its way into your face." Thor grunted as he also glared at the adventurers. He snapped his fingers, and his familia came running to his side. He then looked toward Heracles and said coldly, "You owe me."

"Hmmm." Heracles nodded and moved. As he did, Buddha and Thor, along with Thor's familia, rushed toward the adventurers of Hades's familia, clearing a path for the god of strength.

"YOU FOOLS!!! IF HE DIES, WE WILL NEVER KNOW WHERE THE HEROIC BOW IS!!!" Hades yelled, his face turning red as he could only watch Heracles's figure grow smaller and smaller as he gained distance.

"So that's what it was? Greedy as always, huh?" Buddha grinned as he smashed his staff at the adventurers left and right, his eyes never leaving Hades. "Don't worry your pretty little mind. Knowing Heracles's temperament... That abomination is as good as dead." Buddha smiled politely, blocking a sword that came his way.

*At the amphitheater, current time.*

Lightning crackled in the sky, turning the world red. The creature was taken aback by what it was seeing. The boy was still fresh from one of its many memories. One of the souls inside its body was both fearful and angry at seeing the adventurer.

"A-AUGUST?!!" Mia was shocked at what she was seeing, unable to help but raise her voice. It was the first time she had ever seen someone wielding this amount of mana.

"Mia! Take Finn, Bete, and Toga out!" August ordered, his voice firm, with no room for argument.

"Y-you can't take it on alone!" Riveria stood up; she had seen this magic before, August wasn't in control at that time, but this time he was in control. But, still, she can feel that it isn't enough. "IT'S SUICIDE!" she pleaded.

"He isn't alone!"

*BOOM!*

The ground shook as a being beamed from the heavens, landing beside August. The dust cleared, revealing a mountain of a man with muscles all over his body, a lion head adorning his helm. A godly aura burst out of him; the space itself shook from his very presence. It was Heracles.

The adventurers eyes bulged out of their sockets, they didn't expect a god to show up here. His aura is breath taking, so powerful that the adventurers felt hope for the first time since facing the monster.

Starting at Heracles' back, makes them see a hero of old, standing against the force of darkness, like the legends told in the pass.

"Take the injured and leave! We will deal with it ourselves!" Heracles glanced back at the adventures, his eyes telling them to get the fuck out or else.

The adventures gulped and did what they're told, more like their body was compelling them to obey.

The creature was unmoving, felling two tremendous aura pushing it down, it had no choice but the have its full concentration at the two beings. One god and one mortal. Allowing the adventurers to collect the broken bodies of Finn, Bete, and Toga.

"What are you doing here old man?" August asked, not looking at his God.

"Saving my foolish child of course! How can you be such an idiot August?!" Heracles answered not looking at August as well. The two never leaving their eyes off the creature.

"What did you ask for?" Heracles asked, his voice tinged with worry that caught August off guard. The young adventurer looked at his god. What he saw was a face of man who seems like he was about to lose someone.

"I-... Everything... I ask for everything it have." August is confused on why his god knows this, especially when Heracles grimaced when he heard his answer.

"Tsk!" Heracles clicked his tongue, his aura grow more powerful as he took a step forward towards the creature. "Then let's finish this quickly!"

The creature felt a huge burst of killing intent rushed all over its body. Its instincts tug it to take a step back, in a blink of an eye, the huge god was in front if it. It's eyes widened, this was the first time it ever saw someone moved almost as fast as it.

Shock the creature instantly flail its claws forward, aiming for Heracles' head. The swing was wild, due to it being caught off guard.

A mistake Heracles was capable of taking advantage of. With grace and finesse unbecoming of his size, Heracles shifted his center of gravity to the right, with a quick burst in a single step, making the claw harmlessly pass by his head.

He then shoved his shoulder deep inside the creature guard while maintaining a low center of gravity. Almost crouching, he then planted his feet on the ground, digging deep inside it, using the his big toe, he spun like a top, using every fiber in his body as well as his bodyweight, and delivering a thundering uppercut.

His movement so smooth, that it was mesmerizing to look at. The blow cracking the maw of the creature, and sending it hurdling in the air.

Waiting for it, was August, crimson red lightning, coiling around his body, his spear poised to strike the creature down.

August jumped in the air, using the wind as a platform, he beamed down the creature, his spear crackling with an overwhelming amount of mana.

The creature quickly balanced itself and raised it claw up, wanting to meet the spear with its own weapon.

But inches away, August spear bent and curved. The sparrow took flight, dodging the claws of the creature and heading straight for its neck.

The spear head tear through its flesh, black tar squirting out of the wound as the abomination roared in pain.

It can feel a thousand bolts of electricity spreading through its body, as it spasm in the air.

Angry the creature swung wildly towards August, at speed that the adventurer couldn't even see.

But that doesn't mean he couldn't sense it. With a flick of his wrist, August pulled the weapon out and twirled it to his right, blocking the blow.

The force, sending the young adventurer crashing to the ground. Buying the creature time to recover.

But time isn't something that Heracles is willing to give, the creature felt a hand grabbing its ankle, it looked down and saw the god staring coldly at it.

It felt a yank, as its body was ragdolled by Heracles as he threw it to the ground. An earth shattering impact boomed all over orario, as huge crater formed at the middle of the amphitheater.

The creature dug its body deep into the floor, it opened its eyes only to see a pair of large boots heading straight to its head.

*BOOM!!!*

the creature head dug deeper inside the hard pavement, its teeth, shattering upon impact, as the god landed on its face.

Heracles felt a tingle at the back of his neck, he felt a thudding blow landing on his back, as the creature extended its leg to kick the god. It knew that it wouldn't be able to dodge, so it decided to go for a simultaneous hit.

Heracles crashed at the debris as his body rolled a few meters away. As much as the god hates to admit it, the creature's strength was at least comparable to his. -without arcanum that is-

The creature pulled its head out, as it sat up, but it didn't have a moment of respite, a a flash of red lightning tinged the whole arena with its color, and the young adventurer arrived in front of the creature, with his spear poised to cut its head.

The creature hastily put its claws up to guard the blow, but August saw right through it, because that was what he would have done if he was on the same situation as the creature.

The spear was a faint, and with the creature covering up, it made him lose sight of the young adventurer.

August flickered at the creatures back, as he slashed its spear down, slicing the creature from the shoulder to its waist.

A numbing pain made the creature growl in response as its face grimaced in pain. It quickly turned around and saw the adventurer smiling viciously at it.

August then jumped high in the air, the creature's eyes inevitably following him just for a moment, because a fist the size of its' head, covered its' entire vision.

*BOOM*

The creatures head snapped back as its body was bent at a painful direction, the blow shaking its inside as it spat out black tar.

A portion of its face was turned to mush from the force of the blow.

Heracles followed up with a body blow, but this time, the creature was ready for it, it caught the gods left hand with its right, and using its left, it took a stab at Heracles abdomen.

The god parried the stab with his right, but he was tad bit slow, as the claws grazed his side, taking out a portion of his flesh.

Still it was better than being stabbed straight to his belly. The god then kicked the shin of the creature, making it lose its balance, and with a quick follow-up, he raised his knee up, hitting the creature at its chin.

The creature reeled back. From the side, August began an assult as he launched a barrage of slash, his spear cutting through the air.

The creature can see his movement though, its mind moving in instincts as it dodged the blow.

'Looks like August's strength is still that of a level 5 with boosted stats to reach level 6.' Heracles thought as he joined in on the assult, the creature doing everything it can to deal with the combined attack from the mortal and the god. 'So the mana we were feeling is from the spear itself and not his.' Heracles out two and two together.

Like a well oiled machine, the two of them pushed the creature with a terrifyingly precise synergy. Heracles covering for August whenever he saw his child slipping, while August fight like he usually does, with unrelenting aggression and pace.

'Of course... The weapon knew that August wouldn't be able to handle its power, so it focused everything it had on itself, allowing August to deal damage to the creature even with him being 4 levels behind.' Heracles was able to asses the whole situation. 'Still, the mana is seeping inside August's body, if this keeps up, he will undoubtedly crumble due to the overwhelming mana that is being pushed inside him. The more the fight last, the stronger he gets, but the more damage he will receive... Greedy fucking mutt!' Heracles cursed Beowulf inside his head.

The god knew that the Theïkó óplo is essential killing August the more the fight drags on, this was the price August has to pay for asking Beowulf to give him everything it has.

As of now, August's stat was reaching the very peek of that of a level 6, any more and his stat would match that of a level 7. And with his body being that of a level 5, it would undoubtedly burst and shatter, as too much mana would kill him.

Heracles understands this more than anyone, even more so than August... Because he once wield a theïkó óplo when he was mortal.

Heracles understood that they must end it now!
