Slave's Work

Michael looks in trepidation as the cage he was in was pushed away. The old man smiled as he follows beside him. Michael was hurriedly dragged from the cage by a thug, only for the old man to raise his hand and spoke with a voice laced with irritation, "Now, now. Don't hurt him." The thug stops in his tracks as he opens the cage.

The old man lowers to Michael's level who hesitantly look back at the smiling old man. The glistening smile, make Michael even more suspicious. He looks closer at the old man, noticing the red skin and his eerie red eyes dressed in what he believes to be noble clothing during the early 1600s. 'I really am in a different world, let's just hope I get to live through this.' Michael depressingly thought

The old man then shows Michael his hand, as if asking him to reach for it. "Hello there, my name is Vincent. What's yours?" The man coaxingly spoke. Michael looks around as if trying to find a reason for the old man's amicability before he replies "M-Michael", only to hesitantly reach for his hand knowing there's no other choice for him. The old man then softly pulls Michael out as he spoke, "Cmon now, I won't hurt you."

Michael nods as he gets out of the cage but before he could react a sleazy man spoke behind Vincent. "Sir Vincent," He hands a ring to Vincent "Here is the remote for the boy's collar." Michael reaches for his neck noticing the collar, the indignant fury burning in him, he buried in cold anger. Vincent only nods as he readies to leave, with Michael meekly following.

A few silent minutes as they walk outside of the auction house. Michael stays silent as Vincent urges him onto the carriage. Michael looks around inside the luxurious carriage, a bit anxious from the contrast with his ragged clothes. Vincent chuckles seeing Michael's anxious expression and spoke with mirth "Michael it is fine, you will be clothed according to your position."

Michael looks down as he whispers to Vincent, "Arent I just a slave." Vincent nods as he replied, "Yes that's true," Vincent raises his hands before Michael reply, "But! you'll have accommodation similar to that of a servant, due to the talent you have in you." Michael dryly swallow as he question, curious about his situation "Talent?"

Vincent grins in excitement, "Well, yes talent. The talent to view the meaning of the complex magic runes present within magical artefacts." Michael's eyes shone in excitement at the mention of magic, he then reservedly asked a question, wary of any reactions. "W-what do I need to do?" Vincent smirks from the boy's badly hidden eagerness.

"You'll be tasked with checking any of the magic items, I'll buy." Vincent looks into Michael's eyes, the glint of greed hidden beneath makes Michael anxious. Vincent then claps as he spoke, "Now, let see those eyes I bought." Michael's hand, shakes in fear trying to find in his memories how to use such eyes only for him to end up blank.

Vincent weirdly looks at his fearful form and only chuckles before he curiously spoke. "Do you not know how to use it?" Michael furiously shakes his head, VIncent then softly reaches for Michael's shoulder who recoils back in fear. Vincent shakes his head as he takes out a box from his pocket, "How about this? hold this in your hand and feel the flow of magic."

Michael tries to comfortably sit while he controls his shaking, 'Stop it!' He inwardly shouts to himself, he reaches for the box as he continued his thought, 'the man has been more than patient with me, someone he owns.' He readies himself as he holds the box in his hands only to feel a rush of power.

Vincent noticing this then spoke, "Do you feel the rush?" Michael nods, Vincent then continues, "Then pull the flowing power to your eyes." Michael closes his eyes as he concentrates, the rushing power as if water flowing through his veins. He pulls it to his eyes as the rush of power makes him wince in pain before a bright light burst forth forcing his eyes to open.

Vincent moves closer as he spoke in delight, "Bravo! Bravo! I'm quite glad I bought you. The Magna Bloodline in you is certainly prominent." Vincent grins as he takes out another gadget from his pocket and hands it to him "Here, why don't you look at what this human artefact actually accomplishes."

Michael then nods as he takes it from his hands, feeling a rush of familiar power something that surprisingly easy to redirect to his eyes. A few moments pass, the different signs written lights up as a transparent screen appears. Michael composes himself as he inwardly screamed, excited by the new information. Especially with the format, it was presented in, a programming code. 'HAHAHA,' Michael maniacally laughs in his head, excited of the implication.

Vince not noticing his excitement, hurriedly asks, "Can you perhaps use it now?" Michael looks to him and feigns hesitance and nods as the runic signs lit up showing a simple map. Vincent laughs before he excitedly spoke, "I knew buying you was worth it." He takes a sphere of his pocket, "How about this," The melodic tune that flew from the stone make Vincent giddy with excitement. "Marvelous! It seems that the fabled Magna eyes can really present the rune in such a fashion a child could understand it."

Michael nods in agreement as he spoke, "Y-yes sir." Vincent waves his word dismissively "You don't seem to understand it young man, but with your eyes." A greedy expression appears on Vincent's face, "We would be able to use the countless artefacts the Magna Imperium left behind." Vincent laughs in absolute delight, not noticing the grin of excitement plaster on Michael.

Michael bows submissively as countless plans are formed. All of which involves getting free from this bondage and the countless technologies he could implement if what assumes is right.

'I guess this won't be as bad as I thought'
