"I don't get it" said Natasha to herself as she sighed deeply.
"I just don't get it" said Natasha as she could not concentrate at all, her mind kept on thinking on what her father had told her, it was just all too much for her to believe, it felt like some sort of horrible dream, that was not the slightest bit funny at all.
If this was true, and of course it was, then it meant that her mother had not just died like she was told when she was younger, that meant that those people, whoever they were had killed her, and well it would seem that they killed her father as well.
"Of course!" said Natasha as she seemed to realize something and she looked away from her laptop.
Now it all made sense, the nurse at the retirement home had said that a man named Patrick Cole, who claimed to be her father's brother, came to visit her father and then after the man left, the nurse went to call her father and he suddenly had a heart attack.
This was all just too much, her father did not have a brother, which meant that whatever that man had said to her father caused him to have a heart attack, and that was why he had died.
"Just what happened dad?? What did he say to you that day?" asked Natasha to herself as she sighed and she ran her fingers through her hair.
All her life, it would seem that she was living a mini lie, her father always told her that her mother died because she only had a few years left, Natasha had always thought that maybe her mother had a terminal illness or something, but all her life, since she was five years old, she had no mother… and to think that it was all because of these people, they took her mother from her, and they took her father as well??
Natasha was not going to stand for this… she had to find a way to get to the bottom of this all, this was unfair, she was an orphan because of these same people??
"Madam??" came Alfred's voice as he walked into Natasha's office as he snapped Natasha out of her many thoughts.
"Hmm??" asked Natasha as she snapped out of her thoughts and she looked at Alfred.
"Madam, are you alright?" asked Alfred as he looked concerned.
"I am alright Alfred" said Natasha as she sighed, what could she say??? Besides, he would not understand, and he would not believe this silly story of hers because her herself could still not believe it without wondering if she was just seeing things.
"Alright Madam" said Alfred.
"Would you like me to get you anything?" asked Alfred as he looked at Natasha.
"No Alfred, thank you, but I am alright" said Natasha as she forced a smile.
"Alright Madam" said Alfred as he smiled.
"Yes, so do you need anything Alfred?" asked Natasha as she wondered why Alfred as in her office in the first place, she had not asked for anything.
"No Madam, but I have something for you" said Alfred as he smiled.
"You do?" asked Natasha in surprise as she wondered what he could have for her.
"Yes Madam" said Alfred.
"The Young Master asked me to give you this" said Alfred as he brought out a large, big brown envelope from behind him as he gave it to Natasha.
"Ookay??" asked Natasha as she wondered what was in this envelope, but she collected it anyway.
"Yes Madam" said Alfred as he smiled.
"Oh and Madam, one more thing" said Alfred as he suddenly remembered something.
"Alright, what is it Alfred?" asked Natasha as she placed the envelope on her desk beside her laptop as she looked at Alfred.
"The Master called, he said that he had been trying to call you, but you have been unreachable" said Alfred.
"Ahh, that must be because my phone is switched off" said Natasha as she looked at the blank, black screen of her phone as it was on his desk.
"I will talk to him later Alfred, I just need to finish some things first" said Natasha.
"Alright then Madam, please do, he sounded very worried" said Alfred.
"Don't worry Alfred, I will" said Natasha as she smiled.
"Alright Madam, let me leave you now" said Alfred as he smiled.
"Alright Alfred, thank you" said Natasha as she smiled and Alfred smiled at her once more as he walked out of her office and he closed the door behind her, leaving Natasha alone once more as she sighed and she switched her phone back on, she had switched it off because she needed to think and clear her head.
"Yikes" said Natasha to herself as she picked up her phone, Grandfather must have really been worried, because she had 15 missed calls from him, she would call him back later, she was not in the mood to talk right now, she just had so many things on her mind.
"Oh Grandfather, I will talk to you later" said Natasha as she sighed, she knew why he was calling, he wanted to talk about what happened at his birthday celebration, and he was going to apologized, but she was not ready for that right now.
Natasha sighed as she turned to look at the large envelope that Alfred had given to her, she reached out for it as she took the envelope and she tore it open, she did not have the patience to open it carefully, she just wanted to know what Dom could have put in here.
"Maybe they are divorce papers" said Natasha to herself as she scoffed and she laughed to herself, that was impossible, they were both stuck in this sham of a marriage.
"Weird" said Natasha as she brought out the documents in the envelope and there was a little yellow note stuck on one of the documents as Natasha read it, it was written in Dom's handwriting, she could recognize his handwriting within seconds, she always thought that he wrote so neatly.
"Here is the death certificate of your father, along with some other documents that you may need in the future" read the note.
"How nice of him" said Natasha as she scoffed to herself as she removed the note and she tore it up as she scrunched it into a ball and she threw it into the trashcan in her office.
Natasha really did not care at all, Dom was just someone caring like that, he was thoughtful, that was just his nature, but she really did not want his thoughtfulness right now, she had to admit that she was grateful to him, she had forgotten about her father's death certificate, she was sure that she would not have even remembered that she would truly need it.
She was thankful that he went out of his way to get this for her, but that was just it, she had bigger things on her mind.
Natasha went through the death certificate, as well as some other documents that would be important if she wanted to get some of her father's assets that he had left for her, which reminded her that there were some more documents that she needed to get, they were not here, and neither were they in the box of her father's belongings.
"*Sigh*, Oh Natasha, just what are you doing?" asked Natasha to herself as she sighed, was she wasting her second chance?? No she was not, she really did not want to, which is why, no matter what happened, she would keep on going, because as her father loved to say life goes on.
"Life goes on doesn't it dad?" asked Natasha to herself as she smiled and she picked up the graduation photo of her and her father that she had placed on her desk.
"Of course you will say yes" said Natasha as she laughed, was she going crazy? Talking to a photo now? She was sure that people would think that she was actually going crazy if they say her talking to her dad's photo right now.
"You know what dad, I will get to the bottom of this, believe me" said Natasha.
"And I miss you… I miss you so much" said Natasha as she smiled sadly, nothing compared to not being able to see someone you loved again, the thing was, she was not even angry at her father, far from it, she only wished that he had told her sooner, then maybe she could have done something to prevent all this from happening.
But in the end, what was done was done, and nothing could be done to undo it, but she was not just going to sit down and wait for these same people to come and find her and kill her as well.
Now that she thought about it deeply, could they have been the ones who killed her in her past life right??
"No… that is impossible" said Natasha to herself as she thought out loud, whoever they were, they could have not been the person who killed her… after all, she had gone to the forest to meet Dom, so it was impossible, whoever killed her had to be someone else, someone close to her, who knew where she was going, and who decided to end her life, the only question was who?
