Cheating

The Next Morning.

"So...." said Mason.

"So what??" asked Amalia as she kept on walking.

"So are we going to keep on walking like this in utter silence, like we are mourning?" asked Mason as he pushed the trolley.

Mason and Amalia were in the hardware store, there were no much people there, since it was early in the morning.

"I do not understand what you are talking about" said Amalia as she kept on walking without making any eye contact at all.

Amalia was wearing blue jeans and a white top, and her hair was braided into a big braid, while Mason was dressed casually, they were not in their uniform.

"Come on Amalia, it's so awkward and for what??" asked Mason as he looked at her, they were looking for the aisle where glass would be.

"You know for what" said Amalia as she stopped walking and she glared at him.

"I said I was sorry Amalia" said Mason as he looked sad.

"Oh did you now??" asked Amalia.

"Because I do not remember you ever actually apologized" said Amalia, if not for the fact that Alfred found her trustworthy to follow Mason, she would not have agreed to go with him, she really wanted nothing to do with him, he was an extremely annoying person and very pushy too.

"Look Amalia, I know that I was annoying" said Mason.

"No you were not only annoying, you were irritating, provoking, tiresome, irking" said Amalia.

"Wow you have a whole list" said Mason as he wondered how she could come up with so many words in such as short time, it was as if she was waiting for this moment.

"That is how bad you are" said Amalia as she kept on walking, it seemed like she had bad taste in friends, first it was Lexi, but that girl had already got what she deserved and now it was this guy named Mason was wanted to force her to be his girlfriend by fire and by force.

"Correction how bad I was" said Mason.

"I am sorry, I was foolish, forgive me, I do not want you to hate me, and I do not want to force you into anything that you do not want to do" said Mason.

"So please forgive me, I promise never to offend you again" said Mason.

"Hmph" said Amalia as it seemed like she was not buying his apology at all.

"What would it take for you to forgive me??" asked Mason.

"I don't know, you tell me" said Amalia as she decided that she was not going to make things easy for him, the same way he did not make things easy for her, she was going to be as equally or even more annoying and pestering than he was.

"I just want us to be friends again, like we used to" said Mason.

"It was you that ruined that, and not me" said Amalia as she and Mason were about to turn into the next aisle until Mason saw someone that made her stop right in his tracks.

"Move back" he said as he pushed Amalia back and they hid at the corner of the aisle they were in.

"Is something wrong with you??? let go of me, what is it??" asked Amalia as she felt like punching the disrespect out of this guy.

"Shush, look" said Mason as he pointed at a gap on the shelf that was filled with lightbulbs.

"What do you want me to even look at that made you act so..." said Amalia as she looked through the gap and she saw what, or rather who made Mason stop like that.

"It's the Madam" said Amalia as she was wondering what the Madam would be doing in a hardware store at this time.

"Yes, I know that" said Mason.

"And she is not alone, there is a man with her" said Mason as he pointed at the man.

"Yes, I see him" said Amalia as she saw who Mason was pointing at.

"Pete I cannot believe that you brought me here" said Natasha as she sighed.

"Hey, hey, I told you that I had some errands to run" said Pete as he pushed the trolley he was with.

"Yes, I knew that, but I thought that they were going to be cool police errands, you know like a stakeout or something, and not us shopping for hardware supplies" said Natasha as she face-palmed.

She had texted Pete yesterday telling him that she preferred to use the shooting range when there were not many people, and he agreed with her, so they set their time to meet early.

Natasha had done that because number one he did actually want to be alone in the shooting range, and secondly every single time she left Joy alone at home for long periods of time she felt bad, even though she knew that Joy was in good hands.

She still missed her baby, so she decided that it would be better for her to go out very early in the morning so she could spend the rest of the day with Joy, so she had called Benjamin to tell him that she was not going to train today but tomorrow morning, and he agreed.

Everything else was easy from then because Pete was friends with Clement, and Clement happily agreed to lend Pete the keys to the shooting range, as per their agreement.

Natasha and Pete had finished their morning in the shooting range and now they were in the hardware store.

"Nat a police officer's life is not always filled of intrigue, mystery, or crimes, there are some boring times too" said Pete as he laughed.

"That is nonsense" said Natasha as she sighed.

"Oh so the very annoying dripping pipe underneath my kitchen sink is nonsense?" asked Pete as he laughed.

"You know what I mean Pete" said Natasha as she hit him and he laughed.

"I did not expect to spend my morning in the hardware store looking for pipes to fit your kitchen sink and silicon" said Natasha as she laughed.

"Oh I tell you Nat, it is a very bad situation back there, the pipe just leaks and leaks, and it's destroying the cabinet underneath the sink" said Pete.

"Then why don't you call a plumber if it's that bad?" asked Natasha as she looked at Pete.

"Well because Nat, there are just some things that a man must attempt on his own, and plumbing is one of them" said Pete as he looked very smug.

"Oh right??? I see" said Natasha.

"Just don't say that I told you so when you end up calling a plumber anyway, when this little experiment of yours fails miserably and you house floods" said Natasha as she laughed.

"Wow Nat I did not know that you wished evil for me" said Pete as he laughed.

"Oh shut up" said Natasha as she laughed with the both of them completely oblivious that some people were watching them.

"They seem very chummy" said Mason as he and Amalia were both still observing Natasha and Pete.

"Yes and so???" asked Amalia as she turned to look at Mason, she knew that he was insinuating something else.

"And so what??? can't you see that they are laughing??" asked Mason.

"And what does that have to do with anything?" asked Amalia.

"It has a lot" said Mason.

"Wait don't tell me that you think..." said Amalia.

"Yes I do, the Madam is cheating on out boss with this man" said Mason as he seemed very sure.

"No, she cannot do that, she would not, they must just be friends" said Amalia.

"And how are you so sure?" asked Mason as he looked at Amalia.

"Why are you even defending her?? You do not know her at all, you do not know what she is capable of" said Mason.

"Even if they were friends, how come a married woman would come to the hardware store at this early time with another man??? hmmm??" asked Mason.

"But..." said Amalia.

"But nothing Amalia" said Mason.

"This is injustice" he said as he moved away.

"What are you going to do??" asked Amalia as Mason left the trolley with her and he reached into his back pocket.

"The right thing" he said as he moved a bit closer while trying not to draw attention to himself, he held his phone in his hand and got ready.

"Is this the pipe you are looking for??" asked Natasha as she picked up a silver pipe.

"No Nat, it looks like this" said Pete as she showed Natasha the picture of the pipe he needed on his phone.

"Ahh I see" she said as she laughed and Pete smiled at her.

"Got you" said Mason from the distance he was standing, he was partly hidden by the shelf of the aisle opposite the one Pete and Natasha were standing in, as he took a picture of the both of them, as soon as he was satisfied with his product he ran back to Amalia.

"Come on let's go, I found the glass aisle" said Mason as he took the trolley.

"What are you going to do with that picture??" asked Amalia as she looked at him.

"Is it not obvious??" he asked.

"I am going to show the boss" he said as he walked away without even waiting for Amalia.
