"Dad, you have only been talking about me all this time, I am so selfish" said Natasha as she smiled sadly at Larry.
"Oh no, don't say that Tasha, I could not have asked for a more thoughtful daughter" said Larry as he smiled at Natasha and she smiled back at him, even though she just felt horrible on the inside, she really was a selfish person, to think that she had not seen her Father for almost ten years, just because of a man that didn't even love her, and she ended up dying in cold murder for him.
"Dad, how are you feeling? Have you been taking your medicines??" asked Natasha as she smiled and she held her father's hand.
"Ahh my Tasha, I have been doing well, they treat us very well here" said Larry as he smiled.
"Hmm dad, why is it that I don't believe you?" asked Natasha.
"Don't you think that I don't know you have been cooped here in your room all day, I can see it in your eyes" said Natasha as she smiled, she found it funny that her father thought that he could hide from her, she knew him better than he knew himself.
"You need more sunlight, it will really do you some good" said Natasha as she rubbed the back of her father's hand, she knew that this was not easy for him especially since he had lost the feeling and use of his legs, it was not easy for someone who was used to walking on their own to suddenly be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of their life, it was truly depressive, and she was not helping his matter either, she was supposed to be one less thing he had to worry about, and yet that was not the case.
"*Sigh*, Alright my Tasha, I hear you, and I will do as you day" said Larry as he sighed and he smiled at Natasha.
"Good" said Natasha as she smiled.
"And have you been taking your medication?" asked Natasha as she raised her eyebrow at him, she knew when he was not telling the truth.
"I cannot lie to you can I?" asked Larry.
"Not a chance" said Natasha.
"*Sigh*" said Larry as he sighed deeply.
"So, why have you not been taking your medicine?? And aren't the staff here supposed to supervise you??" asked Natasha.
"I have not been getting the headaches anymore for a while now" said Larry as he explained, ever since the accident five years ago, he had been getting constant headaches, but recently they had ceased, so he did not see any use in taking his medicine again.
"*Sigh*, Dad, you cannot just make important decisions like that, you need to consult Doctor Freddie first" said Natasha as she sighed and she shook her head.
"Which medicine was prescribed to you?" asked Natasha.
"Topiramate" said Larry as he sighed.
"Dad, did you not even think that you would experience withdrawal symptoms if you just stop taking your medications like that?" asked Natasha.
"I did not want to take the medications again" said Larry as he avoided eye contact with Natasha.
"Where are your pills?" asked Natasha as she put out her palm to Larry, as he sighed and he removed the cover on the couch and he gave Natasha a white container with a yellow top that had a sticker plastered on it.
"Empty??" asked Natasha as she shook the container and she looked at Larry with a raised eyebrow.
"I threw the pills away" said Larry plainly.
"Gosh Dad, I really should be checking on you more" said Natasha as she could not believe what she was seeing right now, imagine how she could have let her father be this loose that he had stopped taking all his medications.
"What are you doing?" asked Larry as he saw Natasha search through her handbag.
"I am calling Doctor Freddie" said Natasha as she got her phone out of her bag and she gave her father a look that said "Don't even try to argue with me" and Larry could do nothing but sigh.
"Hello Doctor Freddie" said Natasha as she smiled as her call was picked up.
"Ahh Natasha, what a surprise" came the voice of a man from the other side of the line.
"Haha yes I know" said Natasha as she laughed.
"Well that should be a good thing, since you are always a healthy patient" said Doctor Freddie as he laughed.
"Haha" said Natasha as she laughed.
"And how is Dominic?" he asked.
"Well he is doing well, I actually called because I have some questions" said Natasha.
"Alright then, ask away" said Doctor Freddie.
"Alright, so it's about my father, you already know his condition, and just recently I found out that he claims that he no longer gets his regular headaches, and now he had ceased to take his medicine" said Natasha as she explained.
"Doesn't the drug Topiramate have a side effect when it stopped being taken?" asked Natasha as she looked at the container.
"Well yes, they should be some withdrawal side effects" said Doctor Freddie.
"But since he claims that he no longer gets those headaches, then I need to run some tests on him first, and then from there if he has truly gotten better, he can slowly be taken off the medication by reducing the dosage, because withdrawing completely would only cause more problems" said Doctor Freddie as he explained.
"To put your mind at ease, I can come and see him tomorrow" he said.
"Oh Thank you, Thank you Doctor Freddie, I really appreciate this" said Natasha as she smiled.
"Anytime" he said as he smiled.
"Well let me leave you to work now, because I know you are always very busy, so goodbye" said Natasha as she smiled.
"Goodbye" he said as Natasha ended the call.
"You will be examined tomorrow Dad, and no excuses" said Natasha as she put her phone back in her bag as she looked at her father.
"Yes Ma'am" said Larry as he smiled, and Natasha laughed.
"Oh dad, stop joking around, and don't throw away your pills next time" said Natasha as she put the empty container on the table beside her.
"You know, you remind me so much of your mother when you act like this, scolding me and all" said Larry as he laughed.
"You look just like her, you have her hair, and her eyes" said Larry as he reached out to caress the right side of Natasha's cheek as she smiled at him.
"You both are just so alike all in all, from the way you scold me, to the way you smile" said Larry as he smiled and Natasha smiled as she looked down.
"Oh Dad, I love you" said Natasha as she smiled.
"And I love you as well my Tasha, and don't you ever forget that, you will always and forever be my little girl, no matter how much you grow, or how far you go" said Larry as he smiled.
"Oh Dad, I won't I promise you, I won't" said Natasha as tears dropped from her eyes.
"Alright Dad, let's go out for a walk now" said Natasha as she smiled, and she wiped away her tears.
"Oh you mean a push" said Larry as he laughed.
"Oh Dad, don't say that, I don't t find that funny" said Natasha as she sniffed, she had just been crying today, and she didn't care at all, sometimes you just needed to get all your bottle emotions out.
"Well it is the truth my Tasha, you would just be pushing me around, and sorry to say, but I am heavy" said Larry as he laughed.
"And I am stronger now Dad" said Natasha as she stood up and she went behind Larry's wheelchair.
"Did I tell you that I started to learn mixed martial arts??" asked Natasha as she pushed Larry's wheelchair as they made their way to the door.
"Oooh, that sounds very fun Tasha, why are you learning that?" asked Larry.
"Well to get stronger so I can push you" said Natasha as she looked down at her father and he looked up at her and laughed, which made her laugh.
"Next thing I know you will be telling me that you learnt how to use a gun" said Larry as he laughed as Natasha pushed him out the room door into the hall as she turned to close the door behind them.
"Well…" said Natasha as she took a pause.
"You learnt how to use a gun didn't you??" asked Larry as he smiled and he shook his head, his daughter really was something else.
"Dad before you get upset, I already have my firearms licence, and besides Pete taught me how to" said Natasha as she laughed.
"Ahh I wonder how that boy keeps up with you" said Larry as he laughed.
"Hey, I'm not a pest Dad" said Natasha as she smiled.
"Well of course not to me, because you are my daughter, but sometimes you can be too much" said Larry as he laughed.
"Haha very funny dad" said Natasha as she laughed sarcastically as they entered the garden.
