Hearing the words that came out of David's mouth, everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at him.
They stared at him menacingly, "Ehh? What's that look for?" David ate another piece of steak to block the stares.
Feil looked at David like he was an idiot, "I... don't think people would like to talk about how they lose..." He started.
"Oh! Yeah, my bad! I guess I could start then!" David smiled at everyone, trying to ease them.
'Fuck... I'm socially awkward and my common sense here is fucked...' David groaned in his mind.
David had talked about the details about him having the opportunity to learn two extra weapons, learning the basics of the first one, and even sparring with Gluri and winning!
David didn't go on a tangent, he was straight to the point. So straightforward that everyone knew, they knew that he wasn't lying about the things he did, which completely shocked them.
Everyone looked at him with a weird expression.
"Mn? What's wrong? Did I say anything surprising?" David tilted his head in confusion.
Seeing his confused expression, everyone... including Bennett had glared at him, "Almost everything was surprising."
It was the only way they could express how they were completely convinced that this... adolescent, near-adult in their world, had absolutely no common sense yet. They now completely believe that this man was picked by Bennett somewhere, and suddenly brought to society.
"Eh? I mean... if it's the part where I basically defeated Mr. Gluri in a fight, I can understand, but what's the other stuff you're all shocked about?" David obviously wouldn't talk about his system or 'title' he gained.
Even Bennett looked at him weirdly, "I also reached the third tier, why can't I last that long against him them?" He blurted out.
David looked at Bennett blankly, looking back at the time where he had to drag his butt out of bed and spar with him until he feels like he wanted to go back to sleep.
"Huh... other than you never waking up early to train... or training at all, not much else I could think of." David gracefully wiped his mouth with a napkin.
"Huh? Wha-I totally train every day with you!" Bennett denied.
He smiled, "Sure... of course, I don't have to drag you out of bed to do so." He teased.
"Noooooo! Don't tell them that..." He quietly took some food and started wolfing it down like there was no tomorrow.
Looking at the brotherly banter between the two of them, the rest of the group teased them, creating a harmonious atmosphere as they ate and drank.
"Come on... let's go with you next, prince." David smiled, completely opening up to them, acting as if everyone here were old friends.
Everyone else was interested and eagerly looked at Feil for his story.
Seeing that Feil was nervous about it, David stepped in, "Don't worry about it if you don't want to talk about it. I'm sure everyone here had some sort of embarrassing experience fighting with Mr. Gluri. After all, we all have our own level of arrogance." He comforted.
"Mn. Don't worry! Most of us here had all lost to him, we can just share our losses together!" Bennett cheered him on.
It... it was just a way for him to just say: "Hey, you might as well just get it over with. At the very least you'll set a somewhat more realistic barrier for us so we don't embarrass ourselves."
Seeing the expressions on everyone's face, Feil knew he wouldn't get out of this.
Sighing, he started his story.
He didn't even try to talk about his 'accomplishments' about the art of the sword that he learned from his private instructors.
He quickly summarized his point of view about him stubbornly choosing to stay with the sword, and using his one-trick-pony style teleportation to get the edge on Mr. Gluri, only to get destroyed.
"Of course, there were probably many times where I could've successfully sneaked upon him, but I just didn't have enough experience to grasp that chance." He sighed with regret at his loss.
His sister immediately saw the change and comforted him, "Don't worry, brother. The is what we came here for, to improve!" She smiled.
Everyone agreed with that statement, "She's right, at the very least, everyone here has entered this academy to grow, to become stronger."
Seeing the support from everyone, Feil felt much closer to the group, "Thanks, guys."
"Hey! There are still two women here..." Hana pouted.
Everyone laughed at her cute appearance, making her blush in embarrassment.
After Feil, everyone else had shared their stories during class. From everyone's answer, it was quite surprising that everyone seemed to last almost around the same amount of time.
"Huh... I'd expect some of us to have some gaps... but it seems to me that we're all pretty equal, except for you two." Feil pointed to David and Bennett.
Bennett obviously took that as a compliment, seeing his chest puffed out with pride and that smug smile on his face.
"Oh, right. There was something that Gluri had thought about but never told us." David placed a finger on his chin, looking up.
Hearing that, everyone became confused.
They didn't interrupt his thinking, but looked at him curiously, "What was it again... oh, yeah, that part. I heard him talking under his breath about us forming a party and doing some group activities next class to reinforce that." He suddenly spoke out.
A party?
The same thought flashed at everyone at the table.
Seeing their expressions, David continued, "It's as you think. Mr. Gluri will most likely start to put us in one group and the rest of the class in another. To form a party, we need trust, so we might be doing a lot of activities together for the next three years." He shrugged.
Hearing that, everyone had a different reaction, but they were all positive about it.
Bennett especially, 'I have around three years to get her to love me!' He shouted in his mind.
Seeing everyone's stunned gazes, David spoke again, "Seems like we've finished our meal. Shall we train together in advance to impress him?" He smiled.
They looked at his smiling face which seemed innocent, but they all had the same thought.
'Whatever this guy is going to throw at us, we're screwed.'
