Chapter 24; Losing Design
"Hmmm, ahh, hello, Mr. Gray. Um, sorry, we just had a little misunderstanding with my girlfriend," Ethan stammered, releasing his grip on my arm.
Ethan looked at me as if he was asking a question with his eyes. I just lowered my head.
"Are you okay?" he asked with a furrowed brow.
Yeah, I'm fine. My ride is waiting for me, and I need to go," I replied. "I'm leaving now."
Ethan offered, "I'll walk you to your ride."
I hesitated, No , no need, just up to the corner where my ride will pick me up."
Ethan nodded, Noah, who still seemed to be observing us closely.
I insist," Ethan said.
I had no choice but to agree. I glanced at Noah, who seemed lost for words. "Goodbye, Noah," I said to him.
"See you tomorrow, Mr. Javier," Ethan added, and then we turned away from him and walked away.
I walked quietly towards the waiting shed where Jacob would pick me up.
