“Your dad and I love you, too, Kyle.”
Kyle opened his eyes while pulling Clement’s hands off his face. He teared up a little at the sight of his smiling parents in front of him.
“Mom! Dad!”
Kyle knew it was a little juvenile, but he didn’t care. He jumped and hugged both his parents, who were guffawing back at him.
“Hello, Kyle.”
Kyle nodded at his father. “Dad, how…”
Kyle’s mother cocked her head at Clement, who was snickering softly from behind. “Your boyfriend arranged this. The three of us will be spending Christmas and New Year’s Day in Oswington.”
Kyle grinned widely. “For real?”
“Yeah, but your mom and I will be returning to the United States on the third. We have things to do.”
“It’s cool. No wonder you were both so calm over the phone yesterday. I’m just glad to be able to spend time with both of you.”
Clement cleared his throat. “And me?”
Kyle turned toward Clement. “And you, too, of course.”
“Okay. I’m making sure you haven’t forgotten about me.”
