Chapter 25

“Fine. Just step a few inches away from me, please. I’m feeling rather claustrophobic right now.”

Alison, Kyle’s other bodyguard, nodded. “Yes, sir.”

After that, he and the bodyguards made their way toward the station. Throughout the entire journey, everything was fine. He had been living in New York for years, so he felt the bodyguards were totally unnecessary. The short walk back to his apartment building was uneventful, too. However, he yelped in shock when several reporters ran out from the lobby of the building and started to thrust microphones and multiple recording devices too close to his face for comfort.

The bodyguards rushed forward and dragged him to safety, but he could tell they were outnumbered. It was chaotic, and he couldn’t see or hear clearly, especially when the paparazzi were screaming multiple questions at him and the photographers were taking picture after picture of him. He also noticed several video cameras in the background.
