Screams of Horror

The air in the tunnel became cooler as they trekked onward. Eva had her hand curled up in Red's fur. It was partially so that she could keep her balance in the dark tunnel and partially so that he could warn her if there were enemies ahead.

The tunnel was impossibly long. It was strange how it kept going down with no branching paths. Or maybe this is how normal mines were dug. She wasn't sure as her domain had no mines to speak of. Or rather that her father had not deemed it necessary to visit any such place as a noble.

Her knowledge always seemed empty in the strangest of places. She had read every book that her family owned, yet the Adventurer's Guild had many more. It really nailed down the fact that her father had never been serious about her earning merits to take over the domain.
