In the bright sunny afternoon, a black BWW parked in front of an exquisite hotel. It was crowded with people in pretty dresses and dark rich suits, and they were slowly making their way inside to the main hall. There was a marble fountain and several luxurious cars parked outside. And the black BWW stopped as close as it could to a red car.
A tall figure emerged from the car, walked to the other side to open the door gently for the lady to step down. As soon as the lady came out, he took her by the arm and introduced her to a luxurious woman standing next to the red car who had just come out too.
"Mum" he called the woman sweetly, like an obedient child. Even the lady behind him was surprised.
The Demon have a mother? Lilah asked herself while staring at the woman. Charles just called Mum.
She looks too young to be his mother, like she was in her thirties while she was already in her fifties.
"Oh Charles my boy, you look so handsome!" She exclaimed and kissed him on both cheeks before turning to the lady behind her son.
"And who is this pretty love, son?" Mrs Walker asked, looking at the gorgeous girl beside her son. The girl was dressed in a luxury gown that revealed her hidden curves that one could bet she was the daughter of the president of the state, and at the same time, surprised that her son was seen with a girl in public. For as far she knows, Charles was barely seen with a girl or even spotted in public, but seeing him with her, she suspected that something was up. This isn't Charles's way..
Charles turned to Lilah-who bowed her head low to greet the woman in a well-respectful wife material way. Charles smiled.
"She is my fiancee Mum. My soon, to be wife", Charles breaks, Mrs Walker was shock, did she just heard right or her ears are playing games with her.. Charles has a girlfriend and even plans to marry her. Mrs Walker was extremely stunned but also happy. If Charles had considered having a wife, he would be serious about it. She would be the happiest person in the world!
"Are you sure darling?" Mrs Walker asked to be sure if Charles wasn't playing a prank on her this time.. because he had done this thousands of times to his mother since urging him to get married.
"Yes, Mum. I am not joking. I swear on my life" he said. Mrs Walker took a look at Lilah again. She was beautiful and charming, well suited to her son. If Charles was going to marry her, who was she to say no?
Lilah, who noticed the woman's eyes on her, shot her a fake smile. She had no option but to cooperate with Charles' games. On the other hand, she just wanted to see her friend as Charles had said to her earlier that Rosary would be present at the party.
But that troubled her. Who would Rosary be with at the party? Does that mean Mr X might be there too? Lilah thought with her fake smile at Mrs Walker.
"Oh my sweetheart, you look extremely stunning and suitable for my son!" Mrs Walker exclaimed and kissed Lilah on both cheeks while embracing her in a tight body hug.
"I bet the children would look extremely handsome and beautiful like their parents!" Mrs Walker exclaimed before releasing Lilah from the tight hug. While Charles' eyes were full of happiness, seeing his mother being happy with his decision. Besides, dreams was one of her dreams to see her son get married to the woman of his choice.
"I hope you are happy with my son and he isn't that harsh to you?" Mrs Walker asked,
Lilah looked at Charles before turning back to Mrs Walker with a smile. "No ma, your son is the best" she said.
Mrs Walker felt like flying. This was the first time she had heard a girl compliment Charles in front of her.. so Charles could be a sweetheart too. She had never thought of that before. And was happy the girl was happy with her son. Then, something came to her mind. She hadn't seen anyone.
"Where is Lim?". Mrs Walker asked, looking around if she might catch a glimpse of him.
Lilah had no idea who this Lim was but she was curious to know. Did Charles have a brother? She thought and stared at Charles, waiting for his response.
"Well, he is coming Mum", Charles said lazily.
"Are you sure he is coming? Because you know Lim never came"
Charles rolled his eyes. " I am sure Mum, just relax, and will be here sooner or later."
" Alright, if you say so, I just hope my sweet boy will come" Mrs Walker said. She was worried if Lim wasn't going to show up as he had promised. The boy is so unpredictable that no one can read his mind or even study his character.
Mrs Walker still remembered the kindness Lim had done to her and her son. If it wasn't for Lim, Charles wouldn't have been where he is right now. It is all thanks to Lim for his great kindness in the life of the walkers.
Just that moment, someone waved to Mrs Walker, who she simply waved back and at Charles and Lilah to turn back. It was Marcus and his family approaching them.
"The second Walters. The prefect family", Charles said sternly. Lilah could read the tone of his voice and she quickly understood he didn't like the people that were approaching.
"Don't be rude" Mrs Walker said, as they finally joined them. She kissed Marcus and Cindy on the cheeks.
"Thank you so much for coming. It wouldn't be the same without you" Cindy said mockingly,
Mrs Walker blushed. " It's a pleasure."
"For you I suppose it must be! " She snorted and placed a steadying hand on Mrs Walker's shoulder as she laughed. Mrs Walker bristled a little at this but knew her place. She stiffened and smiled.
Immediately, Cindy stopped when she noticed a cold stare at her.
"I can see you are doing well, Charles," Marcus said, taking a cold look at him. He knows the boy was a close friend to Lim and anyone who is a friend of Lim is an enemy to him.
"I am fine, Mr Marcus, as you can see" Charles replied with a stern smile. Marcus nods and gestures to his family to start going. Even though Charles is considered a best friend to Lim, he still considers him a little more respectful than Lim who calls him by his name ' Marcus!'That boy had no respect. Without no more words, Marcus and his family moved further when the journalists rushed to them since they were one of the important people of the party. Marcus did not bother to ask about Lim, because he knew he would never come to his father's party, not even once in his life.
Charles smiled devilishly, " fools!" He cursed inwardly. They must think Lim would never make it, but unknown to them, the devil was bringing a big shocking surprise along.
"Shall we?" Charles said to Lilah and clenched her waist tightly in the presence of his mother, who blushed at what she saw.
"What...are you.."
"Yes!" Mrs Walker exclaimed before Lilah could say a word to stop Charles' action.
