Me and Pyrrha were both relaxing after our battle, and my lord the people of remnant knew how to soothe battered muscles after a workout. They had these very powerful hydro massage beds that shot a powerful stream of hot water into a thin rubber mat that you would lay upon and could also synch up to our scrolls so we could control the water pressure hitting us as well as where it was hitting.
"Ugh..." I groaned up in comfort at the feeling and Pyrrha snickered at my reaction from my right side getting her own massage. "Just this massage makes the possibility of being torn apart by Grimm worth it!" I said truthfully as the water jets hit me just below my neck and I could feel a crick I didn't even know I had been taken apart by the hot water pushing against it.
"Although these ones are better than the ones I am used to, these certainly are one of the better perks of being a huntsman," Pyrrha said smiling as she seemingly melted into a puddle of contentment on her own table.
Being around other humans and even Faunus was honestly great for my mental health as I had noticed that although I certainly wasn't depressed or overly stressed back in Nier Automata with all my Androids, I definitely felt a lot more... at home I could say with these people that they wouldn't kneel at the realization of my existence.
Basically, I felt almost normal again here in Remnant. I didn't need to worry about my magic failing to grow some fruits and vegetables for me to eat, I didn't need to worry about some huge Goliath Machine Lifeform digging itself up from under my Bunker, here it was just me and a bunch of other teenagers messing around while we were in school.
As Jeanne and Pyrrha began talking about setting up some time for Pyrrha to beat some combat skills into Jeanne, Ruby, and Weiss sat on the other massage table that was on the left side of me.
"So Jake what kind of metal did you use for your sword?" Ruby questioned me and I honestly had zero clue what kind of weird Maso magic was used in the magic of the YoRHa weapons, so I had to deny any knowledge.
"I was given this weapon as I left home as a gift, so I can't tell you any information as it was kinda a rushed thing," I said evading the subject before I looked to my partner Weiss. "So, Weiss, when will we share a little dance? As your partner, I should get to know you better." I said lightly before my face twitched as the prim heiress took my words differently than I expected. I meant that we would have our fight so we could get used to one another's fighting styles and such.
But she thought I meant something far different...
Weiss blushed lightly but surprisingly she didnt snap at me and instead took a deep breath before she looked momentarily at Ruby and Pyrrha before her eyes looked back to me with a sort of firmed conviction.
"I certainly would not be averse to spending some time with my partner in a more relaxed setting... Umm let me just set up the details and I will get back to you in a day Jake." Weiss said in a bit of a rush as she seemingly Instinctively grabbed Ruby and dragged her out of the room leaving me stunned as my massage table began to peter out from its time running out.
'Well, that happened...' I thought dryly as I got up from the massage table and looked over to Pyrrha and Jeanne who were still talking.
"Girls I am going to talk to Professor Goodwitch about something. I will see you back in the dorms whenever you are done training." I said waving in response to the two girls saying they would see me later.

A few minutes later I arrived at the head staff offices close to where Ozpins clocktower was, and I knocked on the door that had a bronze metal plaque clearly stating this was the office of Professor Goodwitch.
"Come in!" I heard the strict voice of the Vice Mistress of the school call out.
I stepped into her office and saw it was decorated in a sort of classic Western style with lacquered wood shelves stuffed with books and a number of leather-clad furniture that surrounded her large wooden desk that was covered in a literal pile of paperwork.
"Ah Jake Bariss, how may I help you." She said as she put down her admittedly ornate pen and leaned back in her highbacked leather chair.
I thought for a moment the best way to phrase my question in a way that wouldn't be instantly rejected as I sat down in one of the leather seats in front of Professor Goodwitch.
"Professor, I was wondering about the school's stance on students going into the Emerald Forest to clear out the Grimm for training?" I asked simply not alluding to myself going out alone and instead meaning with my team when I said students in plural.
Goodwitch gave me a judging look as she rapped her fingers along her desk before she slowly spoke. "I have seen your combat skills as well as your partner and the rest of your team... I believe you and a couple others on your team to be ready to wander close to Beacons grounds and kill the Grimm but on the other hand a couple of your members are clearly not ready for such dangers. Do you understand what I am getting at." She spoke as she alluded to the state of my team.
I nodded with my eyes closed as I went over what she meant. Basically, I was allowed to do so but I needed to be with others and Goodwitch was saying that Weiss and Pyrrha were ready for such an adventure, but Ruby and Jeanne weren't. Though I disagree on her point about Ruby being unready to kill Grimm.
"Was there anything else Mr. Barris? if not please see yourself out as I am currently swamped with paperwork." She said dryly waving to the stack of paperwork atop her desk.
"Very well, thank you for your time." I said and promptly left the room and began making my way towards the edges of Beacon's grounds to see if I could kill any Grimm in order to strengthen my Guardian, I could feel a breakthrough with it coming.
