Elsie was standing in front of a closed door for ten minutes. Her hand lifted up only to back away for a couple of times as she contemplated her decision of coming here.
She was startled when a hand came to rest on her shoulder. Her head snapped up to see dull brown eyes staring back at her. She couldn't believe how life had left those brown orbs which used to smile every time.
"Rees?"
"She is asleep." He managed to say.
Elsie noticed the grogginess in his voice and his red, puffy eyes. He was crying!
Rees Welby looked nothing like he used to be two weeks ago. He had lost some pounds of weight. His eyes and hair had lost their shine. He moved around aimlessly, lost in his world of thoughts.
He listened to everything the other person said, but little was registered in his brain.
"Ohh. Erm... the front door was open so I... erm..."
"It's okay. Would you like to have some coffee?" He asked out of courtesy, but Elsie realised that more than her, he needed it.
