Thea sat silently, thinking about what could be going on in Ruth's mind. For some reason, she did not get a good feeling about it, but one thing she was sure of was that she was with Ruth at every step, even if that led them to the pits of fire.
The carriage slowed down when it reached the crowded roads of the market. Ruth was looking outside the window of the carriage with not much on her mind. All she wanted to do then was find Edwin's arms around her.
She hoped he had returned from his job by now.
As the coachman tried to get the way out of the crowd, Ruth watched the hustle and bustle of the market. She missed it!
Her attention was caught by a small puppy, who was staring right at her. She found it to be cute. A group of kids came running to that puppy and began playing with it in adoration. They liked to scratch his neck and ran their small hands on its back.
Ruth smiled, watching them play with that puppy.
