The ship left the waters of Vincardine, detaching itself from its ancient land with teary eyes and sad smiles. It took about an hour to put the luggage in everyone's rooms and look after other things.
Once everyone settled down, they all gathered in a cabin with large windows that looked at the three-sixty-degree view of the ocean.
The sunlight seeped through the open windows, and the salty air felt a bit weird against the skin. But soon, they would get used to it.
"Zoe, I am glad that you decided to join us at the last moment. But... your father..." Ruth trailed off, not knowing how to approach that topic.
She didn't want to hurt or offend Zoe. But she also was concerned for her father who was still bedridden in the village of Synchena. Without Zoe, Ruth was afraid that his security might be jeopardised.
But Zoe knew her brother well and her father too.
