Chapter 12

SELENE

Devon swiftly got up from the couch. "What does he plan to do? Oh my God," I thought, my heart throbbing in my chest and I tried to steady my breathing so that Devon wouldn't notice that I was scared.

"I can't be scared of this devil. I won't give up and I'll surely overcome it and leave this place!" thousands of thoughts ran through my mind and I stood in a spot, not wanting to take a single step back.

Devon brought his hands up to my shoulders and caressed them gently. In anger, I shoved his hands away and pushed him, but he didn't move.

"Damn... I hate demons and their strengths," I whispered, and on hearing me, Devon chuckled dryly.

I lowered my pride and took a few steps backward, giving Devon the impression that he scared him with his strength.

"Just let me love you Selene, Let me hold. I want you to dive into my world and I'll make you live in paradise for the rest of your life," Devon whispered.

"No! No! No! I don't want any of that! Don't you get it? Are you deaf? I said I want to go back home, I want to go back to my pack, I don't want to be here and I fucking don't want to have anything to do with you," I said trying to make it very clear to him that I despise me and I hate him with everything in me.

"Soon, you'll grow to love me, darling! I know it for sure ..." On hearing the words, darling! My blood boiled, and I slapped Devon. I took a few steps backward and watched Devon with his right hand on his face and bloodshot eyes.

"You dare slap me!" His voice rang across the room and before he could utter another word, I dashed out of the room

I didn't bother to look back, all I did was run with one thing on my mind. I wanted to get to my room and lock the door.

I ran past a few servants who stared at me, unaware of the reason why I was running like someone was after my life. Well! Technically, someone is after my life! Because Devon has the power to behead me, but still I dared to step on the lion's tail.

I got to my room, slammed the door behind me, and locked the door. I threw myself on the bed, covering myself with the duvet, sweating profusely under the Air-conditioned room.

"You witch! You witch!" I heard Venia's voice from outside my room. This was the first time that I felt grateful for that spell that Devon cast around my room because I would have been dead meat if that hungry-looking Venia stepped into this room.

"Open this door before I lose my temper!" she yelled

"You've lost your temper already. Get the hell out of my doorstep!" I yelled. I wasn't afraid of her because I knew that there was no way she could enter this room without Devon coming himself.

"You Witch! You still have the guts, huh? The audacity to speak to me! You've grown wings, right? Well, I don't blame you. It's Devon who has given you such a mind to talk to anyone the way you like in this place," Venia roared.

"Get the fuck out of my door and stop barking," I said, causing her to be angry

"The day I get my hands on you, be rest assured that you're dead meat" Venia continued, "I don't know what spell you used on Devon but it'll soon expire because I can't comprehend how he hasn't ordered your head to be given to him for dinner!"

"Get the hell out of my door, psychopath!" I said, wishing to stop hearing her banging on my door. After a few minutes, I heaved a long sigh when I could no longer hear her annoying voice.

...

Venia

I appeared at Recon's palace in a rage, "I want to teach that girl a lesson" I said as I walked through the hall making my way to Recon's throne, where he always loved to seat

"What bothers you?" Recon said as soon as I stepped into the hall. He took two puffs of the cigarettes in his hand before turning to face me.

"That witch? You can't imagine that she slapped my man. She slapped Devon. " A dry laugh escaped Recon's lips, and I furrowed my eyebrow because I couldn't comprehend what I said that made him laugh.

"Do I sound funny to you? Or did I do my makeup wrong this time?" Venia said, taking out a mirror from her purse to take a look at her face.

"No, you didn't. As a matter of fact, you look beautiful, just like always, my darling," Recon said. I narrowed my eyebrow, taking a few steps closer to him.

"Then tell me, what amuses you?" I sternly asked and brought my hands to his shoulder. Walking around the big throne seat, I trailed my hands on his body.

"I asked her to do so!" Recon said

"What?" I stopped and swiftly moved to stand in front of me with a bewildered expression

"You're not serious," I added

"You see Venia, I know my brother a lot and nothing hurt him more than not getting what he wants, if Selene continues with her rascal behavior, he'll most likely behead her one day" I gasped and an evil smile found its way to my face

"You sly demon," I said playfully, hitting his shoulder

"Does she know that he'll behead her? At least there's a 90 percent possibility that that's what is going to happen, right?" Venia asked.

"No, she doesn't, I made her believe that he'll ask her to leave. " I burst into laughter after hearing Recon's words. That was the reason why I came to him in the first place. He's so smart!

"That's a win-win," I said, trailing my hands on his chest.
