Starting from scratch

Waking up in another world

"Damn it, why is everything so cold!" exclaimed Ren.

He woke up looking for a blanket, but realized he was not at home, but in a forest near a big city.

"Damn, something's wrong here. I shouldn't be wearing these clothes to begin with, much less should I have an Omnitrix in my hand. And this isn't my body, it's Ben 10's. No way, I died in my sleep and someone gave me a new chance in this world," Ren thought.

"I'm in a bind, but at least I can say: Oh, boy, you got the Omnitrix! Ren said, trying to look on the bright side of his bad situation.

"Okay, now I have to figure out where the heck I am," Ren muttered in his mind.

"But first, I have to become Grey Matter," Ren mentioned as he searched for the alien in the Omnitrix.

Once he located the alien, he selected it, pressed the watch and transformed into that alien.

"Well, for starters, I'll take the limiter off, because the time limit is a problem for me. The only way to do it, from what I saw in my other life, is to use this alien. If Ken 10 could do it, so can I," said Ren.

Ren, after several attempts, managed to remove the duration time limit when transforming in each transformation, thus eliminating a weakness, although getting master control is another story, he will have to look into it.

"Now that I've solved this problem, I'll need to figure out where I am to then tackle any other problems I have," Ren said.

Ren pressed the Omnitrix and transformed into XLR8.

"Okay, off to scour the city and find out where I am," Ren exclaimed as he sped off.

Tracking the whereabouts

After a while, Ren went all over the city and found out that the place where she was staying was called Kuoh. He also found out that it was in the year 2008 and that Kuoh Academy was no longer exclusively for girls, but admitted students of both sexes. This implied several things:

- He was immersed in the supernatural universe of High School DxD.

- He did not know Japanese.

- He did not belong to any recognized faction.

- He had no money to survive.

Despite all this bad news, there was also good news, as Ren had the New Omnitrix (the one that comes out in the Ben 10 Omniverse season), which was the best of the lot due to its few flaws. Another piece of good news was that the Omnitrix included a universal translation function, which would allow him to communicate. Although he was aware that he would have to learn Japanese, since, if the watch was damaged, he would be completely cut off, given that no one in Japan speaks Spanish, and he didn't want to deal with the problem of no one understanding him.

As for his survival, Ren planned to fish and build a fishing rod out of materials he found in the trash. He also intended to devise a way to join the nobility of Rias or Sona. Ren thought as he disappeared from the place at high speed with XLR8.

The mysterious sprinter

The next day, the sun was shining over the city and the streets were crowded with vehicles moving slowly in a traffic jam. In the middle of this congestion was a luxurious black car driven by Rias Gremory. Her expression reflected a certain impatience as she glanced at the clock on the dashboard. She was late for an important meeting in the city of Kuoh.

As she waited patiently in the traffic jam, a flash of movement caught her attention. Suddenly, a bluish, lightning-fast figure streaked through the traffic at an impressive speed. It was Ren, transformed into XLR8, who zigzagged between the cars with amazing dexterity.

XLR8 passed so close to Ren's car that she felt a gust of wind in his wake. In that brief moment of proximity, a small sample of Rias' DNA was trapped in Ren's Omnitrix, unbeknownst to her.

Rias watched XLR8 disappear into the distance in amazement. He had never seen someone move at that speed before. As the traffic continued its slow progress, Rias wondered who this mysterious speedster was and why he was heading so hurriedly through the congestion.

After a while, the traffic began to move again, and Rias continued on his way to his meeting. What he didn't know was that, in that fleeting encounter, a part of his identity had been recorded in Ren's Omnitrix, which could have unexpected consequences in the future.

Offer of 7 golden wings

In a quiet corner of the internet cafe in Kuoh, Japan, a murmur of voices and the soft hum of computers filled the air. The cafe owner, named Kazuya, a middle-aged man with a tired but friendly expression, was behind the counter when suddenly, a stunning figure walked through the door. She was a woman with a heavenly beauty, half angel and half human, blonde with green eyes, a golden halo shining on her head and seven pairs of golden wings stretched majestically on her back.

The café owner froze for a moment, taken aback by the appearance of such an extraordinary creature. The woman approached with a friendly smile and spoke in a soft but determined voice.

Angel-Human Woman: "Good morning. My name is Caroline II, and I am a princess from a kingdom out of this world. I have a special request for you. Please listen to me carefully."

The cafe owner nodded, still a bit stunned by the presence of this mysterious visitor.

Kazuya: "Sure, go ahead. How can I help you?"

Caroline II: "I need you to agree to shelter a person for several days. Here is a photograph of him." The woman pulled a photograph out of her pocket and slid it over the counter to the cafe owner.

The picture showed an ordinary person, but the look on Caroline II's face said that this request went further than it appeared.

Caroline II: "Don't worry, I will pay you in advance and, besides, if I should die in the future, I will give you a direct pass to paradise. I will also bless your offspring with good fortune."

The café owner, though still incredulous, listened attentively. The offer was irresistible, but something about the situation made him feel that there was much more at stake.

Kazuya: "I understand. What exactly should I do?"

Caroline II: "Accept only as payment a green crystal when the refugee arrives. Don't worry about anything else. Trust that this decision will be of great importance in the future."

The cafe owner finally nodded, taking the commitment with a lump in his throat.

Kazuya: "Okay, I accept."

Princess Caroline II smiled with gratitude and a touch of relief. As she handed him the payment for the stay of the individual the cafe owner was to host in his establishment.

Caroline II: "Thank you, Kazuya. You have made a brave and wise decision. I assure you that this will make a difference in the fate of many people."

With that, the woman spread her golden wings and disappeared in a flash of light, leaving the cafe owner wondering about the mystery ahead and the consequences of his choice. After that, he set about counting the payment he received in advance from the angel.

Kazuya after counting the money given to him by the princess in exchange for sheltering the requested individual, three hours passed and the boy the angel asked him to take in arrived. As payment, he told her that he would give her a green crystal (the ones produced by the Omnitrix alien known as Diamondhead) of great economic value. Kazuya fulfilled the deal he made with Caroline II, he gave Ren the best cabin, where the best computer in his place is, plus it contains a super comfortable sofa for people who need to use the machine for a long time. He also told him where the restroom and showers were, and that when he was hungry, to ring the blue bell near his computer to bring him his meals and drinks. He would never reveal the deal the internet cafe owner made with the golden-winged woman, because it is something that people would hardly believe him.

Subject number eleven

Yesterday, when I checked the Omnitrix, I only had ten aliens, but now I have eleven. After this, Ren checked the watch more closely, looking at the logo of the eleventh sample and realized something: it was Rias Gremory.

"Mmm, where did I acquire his sample?" - Ren thought. He began to remember that yesterday he passed through a traffic jam and, at that place, there was the crimson girl in her car.

"Well, demons qualify to be in the Omnitrix, so it stands to reason that a sample would end up in the device. I highly doubt they could turn me into a demon, as it would possibly interfere with the watch, but perhaps they could use an evil piece in that particular transformation" - Ren said.

Seeing that it was time to solve his main problems, as he could no longer stand sleeping in an internet cafe in exchange for one of Diamondhead crystals, Ren decided to join the demon faction, at least for now.

Union to the demons

As Ren advanced walking towards the Kuoh Academy, he thought the following:

"In the time I will be with the demons, I will manage in this way to cover my basic needs, but my big dream is not to end up being an elite member of the demonic society, but to found a government where I set the rules. So what I wish is to create "The Holy Martian Empire", where I will not have the defects of the governments of Latin America. One day I will terraform the planet Mars and begin my reign in the stars, where this red world will be my capital. A world where my word will be the law."

After this, Ren arrived at the entrance of Kuoh, where a black-haired girl was apparently already waiting for him. The moment the Omnitrix bearer turned to look Sona in the eyes, he found her to be a very beautiful woman, although she also found Ren very attractive. Though the Sitri woman got professional and tried not to show that she loved the guy.

"Hello, I'm Sona Sitri. May I know, what are you doing here, and who are you? I have detected your immense amount of magic in Kuoh City since two days ago and apparently the source is you," Sona Sitri said.

"My name is Ren Sanchez. I am here to join the demons, although I am new to the city. I must say that I arrived a few days ago, suddenly I was asleep in my home in Mexico and then I am here in a city in Japan," Ren commented on his situation.

"While I sympathize with you and your situation, you should know that we demons do not accept joining our faction unless it also benefits us. Show me what you know, here and now," Sona Sitri expressed.

"I have the Omnitrix that allows me to transform into various alien species. It can also scan species living on this planet, as long as they have a high degree of consciousness and intelligence. Since you mentioned my magic, I most likely have unparalleled magical potential. Although I must say that I can display my talents, don't you think it would be better in a more private place? I don't think you want to damage the entrance of Kuoh Academy, do you?" suggested Ren.

Sona Sitri agreed with Ren and took him to a private training ground of the school, where no one would intrude. Once they arrived at the right place, Sona Sitri challenged him to a fight.

The demonic girl changed out of her uniform into sportswear with magic, while Ren chose the best alien to fight Sona. Ren chose Diamondhead, being one of the aliens he knows best and having good attack power.

"I'm ready, how about you?" mentioned Sona.

"I was born ready," Ren added.

After this, the real battle began, where Sona threw a powerful water sphere at him. Ren defended against this by turning one of his arms into a blade, which split the water ball in half.

"My turn," said Ren firing crystal projectiles.

Sona dodged the crystals that were thrown at her very easily and responded by creating a large water snake.

Ren, seeing the water snake, began to pull a torrent of crystal towards the ground as he skated on the crystals he had created, using crystal surfing to evade the snake with great speed.

"It's impossible, it won't stop chasing me!" said Ren as he continued to surf on the crystal on the ground.

As Sona manipulated the water snake with her magic, she had seen her combat ability reduced. Since Ren had arrived in Kuoh, Sona had had to resist the urge as a demon who loves men too much to take the person responsible for the immense source of magic into her bedroom.

The Sitri girl knew better than to give in to her impulses, not only because it wasn't right, but because in hell forcing humans to do things against their will was punishable by imprisonment in their society.

However, at one point in the battle, Sona lost her concentration and lost control of the water snake, as doing both, controlling her impulses and her water attack, required enormous mental effort.

Ren took advantage of this and locked Sona Sitri in a crystal capsule.

"The battle is over," Ren commented.

Sona accepted her defeat, so Ren undid the crystal he locked her in with. Then Ren pressed the Omnitrix symbol and returned to his human form.

"I welcome you to my nobility. Though you lack much in combat and magic, I must say you have much potential," Sona said, returning to her usual clothing and bringing her evil pieces.

The young man was a little nervous about giving up his humanity, but it was the price he had to pay to get out of his troubles. Sona took out a pawn piece and made a magic circle around the young Ren to turn him into a demon, but it didn't work.

"It doesn't work, why?" asked Sona.

"I think the Omnitrix detected your piece as an act of aggression towards me. Unfortunately, I can't take off my watch. But if you lend me the pawn, I can make some improvements to it," said Ren as he transformed into Upgrade.

"By all means, show me what you can do," Sona expressed, handing the pawn to Ren.

With the piece in his possession, Ren, using the Upgrade form, made several technological improvements to the pawn, making it more effective.

"I'll be honest with you, I doubt the watch will allow me to become a demon even with the Upgrade enhancements, because I don't associate it with one of the life forms I have in the Omnitrix," Ren suggested as he handed the Pawn piece back to Sona.

"I liked the idea, but do you have any life forms that won't produce incompatibility between your watch and the evil piece?" commented Sona.

"Yes, recently when I was exploring the city with XLR8, I came across a redhead while speeding through the city road jam. I passed so close to her that apparently my Omnitrix detected it as a new life form that deserves to be in the catalog of transformations," Ren commented.

"So my best friend ran into this young man, she's so desperate to get rid of her marriage contract with Raiser that she's already looking to recruit him into her ranks. Sorry, Rias, but this handsome boy I won't let you lay a hand on. Whoever finds him first gets him and it turns out I beat him to it," Sona thought.

"Well, I'll call this new life form Hakai (which means 'Destruction' in Japanese)," Ren said as he switched to Rias' form just as he turned the Omnitrix dial.

"Too bad I'm not catalogued in that device, but no matter, Ren will be mine," thought Sona as she activated a spell on Ren and used an evil piece on Hakai's transformation.

After this, a few seconds passed, Ren, using Hakai's form, assimilated the evil piece. Thus, now young Ren is a pawn of Sona Sitri.

You should know that this fanfic is a rewrite of my original fanfic, which I have in my Wattpad account created in 2018 with another name, completely in Spanish.
