Dracula opened his mouth to speak but before he could say anything, Lilith collapsed to the ground.
She passed out from the realisation that Dracula's words were most likely to be true.
"Lilith!" Laura exclaimed, turning around to stare at her friend who had already passed out on the ground.
In a swift motion, Laura dropped to a crouch, her hands landing on Lilith's shoulders as she gave them a gentle shake. "Lilith, Lilith," she murmured, her voice soft yet urgent as she sought to rouse her friend.
Lilith's body was motionless, her eyes still closed as she remained lost in the grips of her unconsciousness.
For one complete minute, Dracula stood still, watching as Laura tried all that could do to wake her friend.
Dracula's perceptive gaze roved over Laura, as he read her mind. He could sense the panic that coursed through Laura, the dread of Lilith's collapse weighing heavy on her mind as she struggled to understand the cause.
