"Everyone, we are now going to the training room. You already know the drill, please check all of the things you need in the following classes." Iruka reminded them.
'Do you want to turn on the System Vision? It can help the host determine the levels of those people around you.'
'Why did you not say that earlier? Of course you turn it on.' After saying that, his vision blanked out for a second before it returned to normal. When he directed his gaze towards his classmates, there was now an additional red number above their heads. Looking at their level, Neji was shocked and confused. Most of them were level 3 and above, while he was still level 1.
'System, why is my level so low compared to them?! Could it be that I am actually very weak?!' Asked Neji in astonishment.
'The host is incorrect, you have not fought a single opponent since you became the system's host. In order to determine your level, the system needs to employ another method as I cannot use the Aura Measurement Method on the host. The system has the automatic measurement made especially for the host. Once you fight an opponent, even if you don't go all out, the system can automatically measure your overall strength and provide your level. After the first Level measurement of the host, the system won't need any second time as every improvement will now be automatically recorded.' the system explained i
'So it's like that.'
They went inside the training room and started preparing the things they need for training.
Kunai's, dummies, shurikens, etc..
The eventually started and every now and then, Iruka would speak loudly to call out those he arrange for sparring in this day.
Neji picked out two shurikens from the container and held it in his hand, while waiting for his turn in the sparring. It was now that he found out that his hands were extremely balanced in strength and familiarity. He scoured through "his" memory and found out that the gentle fist provided that effect. It really came as a good surprise for him.
He tossed and turned two shurikens with one in each hand to familiarize and find a way to throw it better without feeling uncomfortable.
After minutes of fiddling with the shuriken, he threw it with everything he got and the best aim he he could.
With a 'whoosh' the shuriken was embedded in the target but not in the center. He missed 4 inches to the right. It was quite excellent for his first try.
'Shuriken Throwing Technique is added to the host's Proficiency skills. Proficiency Skills is now unlocked. - 10% Proficiency. Hit the target 10 times to improve Proficiency by 5%.'
The sound of the system surprised Neji, to confirm it, he threw the shuriken in his left hand, and sure enough the number changed to 9.
Excited, he grabbed more shurikens and furiously threw it consecutively. One missed, two hit the target but fell to the ground, and it still counted as a hit. He then saw that the Shuriken Throwing Technique was now 15% in mastery, but he now had to hit the target 20 times to add more shuriken Proficiency.
A little frustrated with the number, he went to retrieve the shurikens he threw. But when he got back, there was already someone on his spot. Helpless, he could only wait, but his name was called out by Iruka for sparring.
"Hyuga Neji and Rock Lee! It's your turn now!" Iruka shouted. When he decided to do this match up, he was expecting some results.
Finally, Neji and Lee finally faced off.
"Lee Vs. Neji! Fight!" With those words, the two got into a stance.
"Gentle Fist!" Neji always wanted to that, shout a legitimate Technique.
He dashed towards Lee with great speed a kid shouldn't have and sent a palm to Lee's chest. But his expectations turned into disappointment when he saw that Lee was only able to block the attack clumsily. That's when it hit Neji, They were still not Guy's student's. Lee has not learned and trained proper Taijutsu yet.
With that in mind, a plan already formed in his head. He attacked second time, this time more aggressive, even aiming for the heart. As expected, Lee was still able to block it, albeit barely.
A palm, two palms, three palms, 6 palms... 10 palms.
Thud! It was until the 11th palm that Lee finally went down. With that, Stage one of the plan was complete. Commence stage 2!
"O- Ouch!" Lee was in pain. He did not expect Neji to be this aggressive today. He always went easy on other opponents before.
All the other kids watching were a little scared as they murmured.
"As expected, trash will be trash. How can you even become a shinobi if you easily lose like that." said a kid, he was one of the best kids in class and the previous Neji already fought him, he lost but not as miserably as Lee.
"You're right, why doesn't he just quit." said another one, disdain and contempt was evident in their eyes and tone of voice.
Iruka was about to say something when Neji did something he did not expect.
Neji walked towards Lee and offered him a hand. And from the expression of Lee, Neji could see that he could not believe it. Neji even put his hand on Lee's shoulder acting a like a good friend.
"Lee, you were amazing! My father said that I have to suppress my strength when I fight someone at my age as they could get really hurt in a few hits. You were the first one to receive this much hit with collapsing immediately! You're really amazing! Do you want to train together with me?!" Neji said while ignoring the sound of the system.
'Congratulations on defeating a Level 4 opponent, this fight was used as Level Measurement so it does not provide Exp. The Host Level is now updated.'
Lee looked at Neji with praise, he was so move that he wanted to cry but did not as he did not want the other kids to laugh at him again.
"Really? You really want me to train with you?" asked Lee excitedly.
"Of course! You are more genius in hard working than I am. I was actually the one that wanted to train with you!" Replied Neji.
But the crowd suddenly started to get noisy.
"What? He actually said that he held back with the fight with us?" exclaimed another kid not believing what he heard.
"You dare say that you held back in the fight with us? Hyuga Neji! I challenge you to a duel!" shouted another one angrily.
"Yeah! Just you wait Neji!" said another one.
In fact, what Neji said was not completely narcissist, the previous Neji did hold back the fight with them, but it was not because his father told him to. It was because he was smarter and knew that he was stronger than all of them.
"Calm down everyone!" Iruka interjected with a shout. He did not see this outcome coming.
"But sensei-"
"No buts! Did you not come hear to study on the path of becoming a shinobi?! It was only a simple provocation and yet you already got angry! Did I not teach you that being calm and killing your emotions in this situation is the essence of becoming a Ninja? Tell me class? Have you not learned anything I taught you at all?!" Iruka bombarded them with words after words.
Iruka was always patient when teaching students, but this particular class was one of the worse class he taught in his years of career. This was also the class with the worst potential, this year was disappointing to say the least.
"Sensei..." the crowd shut up.
"Okay! We will resume the training! Those who aredone woth the sparring, go line up with the shuriken and kunai target practice! Those who are not yet done, watch the duel and learn. Ok! The girls will be first 'cause you will be going to konoichi class after you finish the sparring!" Iruka ordered. This was the first time he lost his temper in a long time, and honestly, it felt good to release the pent up emotions in his heart.
"Yes, sir!" Obey, that was the only thing the crowed could do.
As for Neji and Lee, they were happily chatting with each other already lined up in the last line in the shuriken target practice.
Iruka looked at them and sighed. He decided to talk to them later.
