Life is difficult enough for a Lirian soldier. She peeks past the rock to her target. It's not that far, just a few meters away. But running out in the open amid all the bullets raining down is not an option. They'll be cushioned with bullets the moment they reveal themselves from their hiding place.
Think, think, Aedea. What now? There's got to be something that she can do.
No good. Her only option now is wielding, to cast a barrier around them as they run. But she knows all too well what will happen to her once she activates her wielding.
More and more bullets rain down on their location. The enemies are getting bolder and bolder by the second, slowly taking steps from their hiding places to out in the open. Aedea knows she and her daughter can't stay in the outcropping forever.
