Not this place again

Chapter Four

The high school cycle started becoming second nature to the newcomer students. They were more use to the school then they were when they first arrived, it might have taken them a month, but they got there either way.

To them the school was still filled with crap especially when it came to its rules, none of them got use to the and the same went for the higher grades.

Highschool was difficult and all the newcomers could agree on that, but by being so difficult highschool made having weekends more worthwhile.

Cameron sat on the roof of his home with an ice cream cone in hand, besides him sat Aiden who also had a cone in hand. The sky was dark and the moon was out showing that its night.

"And then he shouted for no reason." Cameron uttered.

"Damn. I always thought of Abbie's brother as someone chilled out and cool."

"I think he is like that, but this whole Highschool nonsense is fucking up with his mind."

"Highschool is a pain man."

"Speaking of highschool, I don't see you at school much, what's that about?"

"I see you at school all the time idiot, you should open yours eyes more."

"I said, I don't see you at school idiot, you should open your ears more."

The two turned to one another then broke into laughter. Cameron layed back on his roof gazing at the sky.

"The year just started and I've already heard stories about you and your heroics."

"Oh yeah... You're talking about those alien things that attacked the town weeks back. It's weird, you know both of those aliens were after the Omnitrix."

"Seems like word of the Omnitrix has been spread universally."

"Makes sense, I hope that this isn't the norm. I don't want aliens attacking me everyday, I have school."

"Don't worry bro, I can help you out. I'm still understanding my mutant powers, but that doesn't mean I can't help."

"What would I do without you?"

"Everything with that on your wrist, where do you get it anyway?"

"You know where the old park use to be."

"Old park? Nope. I'm not originally from here remember."

Cameron looked at the time on his phone (20:02) and then placed it back in his pocket.

"I think we can get there and back before my curfew of 8:30 starts."

Cameron and Aiden searched through the burnt forest for the place Cameron found the Omnitrix at. The two traveled for minutes going through a bunch of unfamiliar areas of the forest.

The second Cameron spotted the warning signs he knew they were close to the spot. Himself and Aiden started sprinting since they wanted to find the area before curfew started.

After countless minutes, Cameron spotted a row of broken trees and burnt grass which was coursed by the drone that attacked him the day he found the Omnitrix.

"We're here." Cameron notified, "Now if I'm correct there should be some sort of sphere thing around 'ere somewhere."

"Sphere thing? Is that where the Omnitrix came out from?"

"Yep, it rolled up to me and when it opened the Omnitrix jumped onto my wrist forever attaching itself to me."

"I didn't ask for the backstory dude."

Cameron took out his phone to check the time; (8:18)

"We still have sometime dude, so let's continue looking."

Cameron activated the Omnitrix, "It probably rolled of somewhere here, 0verspeed will make quick work when finding it." He said before slamming the dial down.

A green light exploded out the Omnitrix; Cameron's eyes moved to the center of his head combining into one green eye. The green flash dimmed down and Micromech flew besides Aiden.

"This guy is 0verspeed? I thought you were gonna turn into the fast one."

"I honestly thought the wrong alien glitch was fixed." Micromech said in his man sounding robotic voice.

"Wrong alien glitch?"

"This thing can turn me into the wrong alien now, it didn't do it back when I first got it, but things change."

"Sounds like you broke it."

"Broke it? No way, I wouldn't break this thing, at least I don't think it can break."

Micromech wasn't the alien needed, but he came in handy when he searched in small areas that a normal sized person wouldn't be able to look properly in.

Micromech was able to search the trees, even though it was unlikely that the sphere would have ended up on a tree.

Aiden and Micromech searched a little while longer before Micromech got a bright idea.

"Forget looking for this thing, do you want to see the lab?"

"The lab?"

"You're gonna love it, follow me."

Micromech flew forward. Aiden was a bit surprised at how far the alien flew, he didn't think it would be that fast.

Micromech came to a stop on the spot the facility containing the laboratory use to be at before the unfortunate incident.

Aiden ran out the group of trees arriving into the same area as Micromech.

The small robotic alien waves over for Aiden to come his direction. Aiden looking confused made the walk.

"You said that there would be a lab here somewhere, now where is it?"

"Oh I think I should've-" The watch covered the area in a red revealing Cameron, "-Explained that the facility containing the lab blew up."

"Then- wait how do you do that?"

"Transform back? The Omnitrix has a time limit of ten minutes or so."

"No I mean how are you able to continue saying what you were saying before when you were still in alien form."

"Because it's like no different from speak with a mask on and taking it off while speaking."

"That would be so frustrating for- hey look footsteps."

Cameron looked down and indeed noticed footsteps, though the problem was they looked a bit different. They were like small poker dots in the ash infused dirt.

"That's definitely weird." Cameron thought out loud, "First the thing containing the watch is gone, now these footsteps are here... I'm starting to think that somebody might have been here."

"You think that?"

"It can't be who I'm thinking it is since they don't have footsteps like these."

Cameron's phone buzzed in his back pocket. He pulled it out and checked the time; (8:30)

"Curfew time has come, and since I was Micromech for ten minutes that would mean three minutes went by meaning I have like about three, four or two minutes until the watch recharges, unless it wants to take an extra five minutes like it does."

CrashSpring smashed down the back of his home. Aiden climbed off his back and dusted himself off.

"I think it's for me to leave."

"You sure you don't want me to help you get home?"

"Nah I'm cool, I love the walk plus your under curfew."

"I could've gotten you there fast, but sure."

The two bro shaked one anothers hands before going their seperate ways. CrashSpring hopped onto the roof and opened the window slowly before crawling inside.
