Cora ended up playing games with the McCarthys way longer than she intended. She thought she would only be there for an hour but, before she knew it, Rosetta had to bow out so she could make dinner.
She hadn't meant to invite herself over for dinner but Rosetta acted like it was perfectly natural for her to stay and eat. So that was what she ended up doing.
She did feel bad enough about imposing that she tried to bow out of the game to help with the food but the older woman brushed her off and said she was a guest. She didn't end up leaving until Ace did. How in the world had she ended up staying pretty much the whole day at someone else's apartment? Let alone actually somewhat enjoying herself?
Playing games had been a lot more fun than she thought it would. To the point that she actually lost track of time. When was the last time she lost track of time having fun with anything but art?
It was oddly unsettling. Like her brain didn't want her to have fun.
