Trip 6, Waiting

After resting for a couple hours since they went to the theme park and arriving back at the hotel, they both realised it was already the second last day of the week, the time seemed to past so quickly for them yet so many things happened during that short time span, thinking back on the candy that Asahi bought for them when they were going back to the hotel yesterday, Miyako remembered that one time when she was younger, she had went to a local festival at the end of the year.

She used her phone to see if there were any festivals happening and saw that there was a fireworks festival that was going to be held later at night that day, she thinks back on the promise she made to her parents to go back and visit them on the second last day, she thinks about all the things she and Asahi could've done but couldn't because of the lack of time they had.

She feared that she may end up regretting her decision to spend the rest of her life with Asahi but swallows her feelings intending not to express them and decides to just spend the last day with him since there was no going back, for the entirety of the five days they had spent together she was enjoying herself not caring much about what she wanted to do herself but what she and Asahi could do together, but now that the last day had arrived, she realised that most of the things she had wanted to do she hadn't done.

A feeling of regret starting coming up in her, when Asahi came out of the shower, he suddenly felt very cold as the air conditioning in the room had been turned on, "Hey Miyako, when are you going to go bac-, huh? I asked her not to turn it on until I finished showering, what is she doing?" He annoyingly turned to look at the beds as he walked back into the bathroom, he wanted to ask her when she'd wanted to go back and see her parents, but instead saw her sleeping earlier than usual, he changed into thicker clothing and went to bed as well not thinking much of it.

In the morning they'd both woken up at the same time, "Good mornin-" Asahi was cut off by the sound of Miyako quickly getting out of bed and silently going into the bathroom, he sat on his bed staring at the door of the bathroom and only heard the noises inside, the sound of the tap being turned on, water running down the drain and a few splashes.

"Why is she washing her face so quickly, she just woke up." He thought to himself confusedly, "Did I make her mad somehow? I should ask her about it." As the door opens, Miyako is fully clothed and asks Asahi to hurry up as she had somewhere she wanted to go, Asahi quickly follows her order and gets dressed, he walks out of the bathroom "Why are you in such a hurry, where are we going?" He couldn't get an answer when Miyako grabs his hand and asks him if he'd left anything important back in the room, he slowly answered that he didn't leave anything they wouldn't need behind and Miyako drags him out of the hotel.

They board a train that they could've easily taken later because of plans they had, being in between the times of the first and second train, on the whole ride Asahi remained silent and so did Miyako, he looks over at Miyako and sees her pinching her fingers together and wonders why she would be so agitated.

He tried multiple times during the time they were in the train to try and ask her if there was a problem, but every time he asked he would either be met with silence or a gesture asking him to sit still and be patient, he thinks that Miyako was more excited than agitated because of the gestures she was making with a straight face.

When they reached their destination, Asahi was surprised by the lack of people in the area, he looks down at Miyako wondering if this is where she wanted to bring him, before he could ask, Miyako tells him to follow her, they reach a restaurant where Miyako says they will eat breakfast at as they had left in a hurry without time for anything else.

They sit down silently with the restaurant somewhat loud because of music playing through speakers and a few people talking, once again they sit in the corner of the restaurant, the waiter goes over to their table to take their orders and Miyako quickly says what she was going to have as Asahi is still looking at the menu, he looks up at Miyako staring at him and tells the waiter what he was going to order as well.

Not saying a word, Miyako stares at Asahi as he starts becoming uncomfortable and looks at the wall beside him, he tries to gather his thoughts but still remains clueless as to why Miyako was in such a hurry, he wonders about it until he scratches his head and the waiter reaches their table and puts down their food, Miyako takes out a bottle of water from her bag and has trouble opening it, "Here give it to me, I'll open it." He was expecting Miyako to say something but she hands him the bottle without saying a word which surprises him, the whole day had been short but it felt like a long time to him as he continued to get more confused by the minute.

After finishing their meal, without having much time to rest, Miyako tells Asahi to get up as she wanted to bring him somewhere, Asahi follows her again and still cannot find a time to ask her why she was being so fast about everything, he struggles to find the words he needed before Miyako turns around and tells him they'd reached the destination, apparently she had brought him to a bakery, she walks in and looks around before shortly going to the last isle, meanwhile Asahi had only just entered the store to look around before he went in the other direction of Miyako.

He looks back at Miyako and sees her grabbing something so he tries to be faster with his selection, Asahi reaches the counter when Miyako had already left to wait for him outside, he feels left out and pays for his muffin as he walks back out of the bakery, Miyako signals for him to follow her and he feels like a dog being dragged around everywhere by the owner.

They sit down on a bench after walking back to where they first went into the area and walked into a large empty place out in the open, they eat their muffins as they seemed to be waiting for something, he looks over at Miyako and wonders, "What is going on?"
