Control is Everything(1)

Two weeks have gone by ever since the Vegas incident, it seems like people have already forgotten about it as if it never happened in the first place. But I know better than anyone that the SCP Foundation was able to make the world forget about it. But those who still know about it are me and my team since Washichi are me and my team since Washichi  hacked  into the foundation's servers and found out more and who stopped the destruction.

And just as I expected, Killer Queen and his new MTF team were the ones who stopped it. Now knowing that his team is much more formidable than I thought and had four new members who are powerful in their own way, I had to shift the preparations for the site-17 raid from two days to two weeks.

Right now most of my team and I are in the skies over the Atlantic,  inside the WWII  British de Havilland DH.95 Flamingo, a  twin-engine monoplane that Katey piloted  with the help of her Stand  Touch the sky.

When I say the majority of my team is here, I  mean I have to keep the rest of the team at our base  in  Scotland and defend it while I lead  the rest to raid site-17. The  people  who  have   been with me on this mission are me, Katey, Washichi, a new Stand User and two Human Stands we recruited a week ago,

Standing up from my seat, I walked into the cockpit and asked Katey, who was piloting the plane.

"How long until we reach our destination?"

"I would say around 10:30 AM but after that we need to head to site 17 by van and we might reach there by 11:30 AM."

"Alright then."

"Do you think your plan will work?" She asked.

"Believe me, it will work. When you can control something like say a bad situation then you're good, but if you cannot control a bad situation then it will lead to panic, chaos and death. That's what we are gonna do, Katey. Make them lose control of the situation that we will unleash on them and use it to our advantage to get the arrow and then we will be one step closer to achieving a better world. A better controlled world."

"Whatever you say boss."

No one will stop me. I have control of my fate and I will not let fate and its plans affect me anyway. Because control is everything. And those who are against my ideals will perish should they try to go against me. What I am doing is right even though some blood had to be shed in order to achieve my goals and I will not stop until all of this is accomplished.

Control will be achieved for the world beyond  our control.

In the swamps of Louisiana , a small Chaos Insurgency base was established near the mash shores of the swamp, it had a wooden dock for well... docking boats, what else, including hovercrafts. There were a couple of crates and a few small warehouses nearby which contained supplies and the place was crawling with CI soldiers. Right now, it is a cloudy day.

Since this was a swamp, there are lots of trees, shrubs and bushes on the water. Because well that's how swamps are.

The heads of three figures emerged from the water slowly, the three hid behind a few trees and looked at the base thirty meters away from them. They wear high-tech armor, wielding LWRC M6 assault rifles with silencer barrels and built-in holographic sights attached to them, and have their rifles painted with a transparent green camouflage paint to blend in with their surroundings.

Even their armor also had the same color for the purpose of blending in with the environment, their armor had the SCP Foundation logo printed on the right shoulder armor plate and the logo of Mobile Task Force 'Queen's Requiem' on the left.

These three figures were Rodeo, Michelle and Robert. Michelle also brought the Blood Maykr spear with her ever since their mission on Las Vegas. The spear is also painted in green camouflage color.

Taking a radio call through his helmet, Rodeo picks up the call to the rest.

"This is Queen's Requiem. We have visuals on the base. Over."

"Find clues  related   to  Project Jäeger and  return  to  Site-17  with  clues that  will   allow   you  to  avoid  alarming anyone. Simple as that.  Done."

[Copy that, Queen's Requiem. You know what the objective is right?]

"Find clues related to Project Jäeger and return to site-17 with the clues that to without alarming anyone. Simple as that. Over."

[Alright then. Good luck, Queen's Requiem. Over and out.] The command told him before the radio call ended.

"I have several concerns." Robert spoke out with a concerned look through his helmet.

"And one of those concerns being what?"

"The fact is that even the most stealthy of missions eventually turn into a full on shootout. Remember Call of Duty Modern Warfare missions?"

"Who doesn't?" Michelle said.

"Look Robert, so long as we use our environment and the training we got to our advantage, we'll be fine." Rodeo smiled reassuringly.

"...Right."

Submerging themselves back in the water, the three slowly approached the base.

———————————————————————

A minute had passed, and the three emerged from the water and were underneath the wooden dock.

"Robert, I need you to head for the warehouses and plant some C4 just in case things go south and to make an escape route." Rodeo ordered Robert before glancing at Michelle, "Michelle, you'll come with me. Any questions?"

"Why don't you just use your bombs to blow up the warehouses?" Robert questioned.

"I could, but C4s is a better option when it comes to large numbers of explosions against multiple people at once. And I need to make sure that we don't encounter any anomalous humanoid weapons inside the base. After you planted the C4, secure a hovercraft for us."

"And what if we start a fire here by mistake? You know there are a lot of trees and bushes here that can catch on fire here easily." Michelle said.

As if fate had responded to her concerns, it suddenly started to rain.

"Nevermind."

"Good, let's go then." Rodeo said as he gives Robert the bag containing the C4 and he heads for the warehouses stealthily. Watching him leave, Rodeo and Michelle head for the base while avoiding the CI soldiers and using the crates and vehicles as cover.

Pausing in front of a door, the two quickly opened it and entered the base. Upon entering, the two looked up and saw a ventilation shaft.

"Among us?" Rodeo looked at Michelle questioningly.

"Yeah, I see where this is going."

Understanding what they were about to do, the two quickly entered the ventilation shaft and crawled through the vents. Using the 3D map that was being projected by Rodeo's armor-plated left hand to get an idea as to where to go, the two made a right turn down the vents and stopped to see a ventilation shaft which leads into a room.

As they approached, they heard two voices coming from the room.

"So I heard that the foundation covered up the Vegas incident perfectly from the rest of the world." One of them spoke out.

"Yeah, but it seems like some monsters of the hell dimension were able to get away from the city and are roaming around the continent." The second guy nodded, "Our guys were able to capture a Mancubus and a couple of Arachnotrons a week back. The Colonel said they will run some experiments with them soon and perhaps find some way to weaponize them and get them under our control."

"Speaking of weaponizing, are the vials safe?" The first guy asked.

"Oh those vials? Yeah, they're in the lab inside an underground basement. The vials are fine."

"I don't know. Sometimes, I feel like someone or something is watching us, hearing our every word, and seeing our every move. It gives me the creeps, man." He said with a paranoid look.

"Oh come on, it's not like we have intruders in the vents."

"I hope not."

Rodeo and Michelle, who were still inside the vents overheard the conversation and decided to head down further into the vents while using the 3D map head for the basement.

———————————————————————

Numerous chemistry tools and pieces of equipment, which are typically seen in labs, were present in the basement lab. Since some of the items they stored needed to be in a chilly environment, it was quite frigid inside.

Five people in hazmat suits were working in the lab, writing down notes or mixing various compounds with different blood samples. Their clothing bore the Chaos Insurgency logo. Surprisingly, the lab featured only one ventilation shaft that was located on the ceiling and no guards were stationed there.

The ventilation shaft cage slowly opens without the hazmat boys noticing, The lab was initially tranquil but was interrupted when a flashbang fell out of it and exploded, which in turn caused the people to become blinded and have ringing in their ears.

Leaping out the vents, Rodeo and Michelle knocked them out with the butt of their rifles.

"Clear."

"Clear."

After knocking them out, Rodeo turned to check around but discovered there were no cameras installed anywhere in the lab.

'Either these guys expected no one to show up here or they were just plain ignorant to leave a camera uninstalled. But hey, I guess not all of us are perfect in this world or other worlds.' Rodeo thought as he and Michelle swiftly searched the area for anything connected to project Jäeger.

Looking at the notes, Rodeo noticed it involves SCP-008, also known as "The Zombie Virus" and some growth feature of SCP-610, "The Flesh that Hates."

Rodeo replied, leaning in closer to study the notes, "Good thing our armor has a filter system that prevents bio hazards from entering our body. But can they even combine these two SCPs?"

"Rodeo, I found something." Michelle called him out.

As she was speaking, Rodeo took the notes and went over to Michelle, who was standing in front of a refrigerator that she had just opened. Rodeo saw that it contained some metallic vials bearing the designations SCP-008 and SCP-610. They also saw some metallic vials that were labeled as "Arachnotron blood".

"Do you think Project Jäeger is related to these two SCPs?" Michelle inquired. "You know if 008 or 610 were to break out of the vials and go airborne we might have problems."

"The notes mentioned only the two SCPs, not Project Jäeger itself, but I might have a theory on what they could make out of this and it's possible their Project Jäeger could be related to it."

"What do you think it might be?"

"A bioweapon."

With this answer, Michelle silently gasped, "You're saying we might have another Mr. X, Nemesis, Albert Wesker, Eveline or something close to Resident Evil monsters!?"

"It's just a theory, but it's possible. Did you find anything else?"

"Not much. Just research and formula mixture notes. These guys aren't carrying any phones or laptops as well."

"Hmm... alright let's take the vials and notes and head back to the topside and meet up with Robert."

Suddenly the radio in their helmets came to life and it was Robert.

[Guys, I have some good news and bad news. Good news is I got the hovercraft and planted the C4 ready. I also planted some on the boats and other hovercrafts that are docked.]

"And the bad news?"

With a short brief silence, Robert answered with the tone of his voice... doesn't seem fine, [...I've been compromised. I need you to quickly get back on top. Now.]

The moment the two learn of this, they immediately take the notes and vials before destroying and burning the lab equipment and quickly escape into the vents.

———————————————————————

Back on top, Robert was standing on top of a light green color hovercraft with his hands raised as multiple CI soldiers stationed on the wooden dock had their weapons aimed at him as the rain kept continuing.

"Well, this is great." He muttered deadpanly.

"Don't move!" One of the CI Soldiers threatened.

"Hey dude, I didn't even move. I'm just standing here... normally."

"SHUT UP!"

Choosing to remain silent, Robert formulates a strategy. However, out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Rodeo and Michelle, who had just killed two CI soldiers by stabbing them in the neck with their combat knives, standing on the roof of the CI base and squatting down to look at him.

When Robert realized what they were up to, he continue to maintain eye contact at the CI soldiers and raised his hands, all the while quietly whispering to Rodeo and Michelle on the helmet radio.

He muttered, "Rodeo, please tell me that the C4 detonator is with you.

[Yeah, I do.]

"...Dew it."

On Rodeo's location, he takes out the C4 detonator and presses it, which sets off all the C4s and causes them to explode, destroying the warehouses, boats, and other hovercraft and significantly startling the CI soldiers.

[Weapons free!]

Taking advantage of the diversion, Robert raises his assault rifle and begins firing at the CI soldiers. While Robert was taking out the CI soldiers along the way, Rodeo and Michelle hurriedly jumped off the roof and safely landed on the ground.

As Robert continued to mow them down, he was able to take out the ones standing at the wooden dock with his assault rifle and saw Rodeo and Michelle running along the wooden dock and heading for him.

Jumping off the dock, the two land on top of the hovercraft and enter it while Robert provides cover fire. The moment Rodeo is inside the hovercraft, Rodeo turns the engine on and drives the hovercraft out of there, leaving the CI troops watching as they vanish into the swamp's tree and bushes.

One of the troops exclaimed, "Son of a bitch!" and stomped on a random frog on the ground, killing it.

The second soldier sighs in defeat, "The Colonel is not gonna like this."

———————————————————————

In the hovercraft, Robert was driving the vehicle at full speed while Rodeo was using his helmet-mounted radio to communicate with command, and Michelle was peering out the window to see if anyone was following them.

"This is Queen's Requiem to command. We have the intel that may or may not be related to Project Jäeger and requesting pick up. Over."

[Copy that Queen's Requiem. Sending a helo to your location. Over and out.]

With this, the radio call ends.

"Please tell me how the hell did you get spotted?" Rodeo asked Robert with a serious expression.

"I'll take a guess that the guys on the rooftop of the base may have spotted me trying to secure our hovercraft and may have reported it to the others."

"I see. So much for stealth."

Michelle looked relaxed and stated, "Well, we got what we needed."

"Yeah. I'm still surprised the foundation is allowing you to use the Maykr spear."

She grinned and said, "Well, after the Vegas incident and them seeing me that I am skilled with it, they just allowed me to keep it."

Robert asked, "Uh huh. So what did you guys find at the base?"

"Some research notes and vials related to SCP-008 and SCP-610."

"Two biohazard SCPs?"

"Yeah and we also found arachnotron blood vials as well."

Widening his eyes, Robert yelled, "Daaaamn! The Chaos Insurgency really wants the foundation out of the way and sees the world burn."

"But we have the vials so we're delaying their plans at least to some degree." Michelle added.

"Yeah. Let's hope it stays that way, because we have a lot of stuff on our hands already, and we can't see more good people get killed." Rodeo said, looking down.

Noticing his behavior, Michelle worriedly asked, "Are you still..."

"Yeah I'm still... feeling down from the incident and combine that with the Pillar Men returning, the Stand factions out there who are looking for the arrows, the Global Occult Coalition still keeping quiet and the Chaos Insurgency trying to pull off something with Project Jäeger, especially finding out that tunnel which might have act as an escape for most of the forces of the hell dimension. Yeah, I'm not feeling great."

"I know, Rodeo. But everybody is trying their best to track the remnants of the demons, the Pillar Men and the factions as well. Things will become better." Michelle said in a reassuring tone.

"...I hope it does."
