BIG FAT LIE PART 2

"Big. Fat. Lie." Davin knew Matilda pretty well and she always had a hard time lying. Whenever she tried lying, her sentences would come out in pieces and she would stammer.

"Milord?" Matilda knew that Davin meant she told a lie but she couldn't help but keep up with her terrible acting. She knew the consequences of lying to the king but she just felt sorry for the girl and she couldn't help it.

"Matilda you stammer when you tell a lie. You are a bad lier." Said Davin to the headmaid who lowered her head in defeat. "Tell me where is she?"

"She.. she's in her room Sir."

"Okay I'll go see what the problem really is myself before we make you tell more lies." Davin was so used to Matilda that he couldn't bring himself to punish her. He sometimes just warned her or scare her but it was for her own good.

He got up from his seat and so did Matilda. He made his way to the servant's quarters and told Matilda to go back to work. Every servant he ran into wondered why their lord was walking in the corridors of their quarters. Had somebody done something they weren't supposed to do? Or was the king lost, cause he never came to this part of the mansion.

Davin reached Lilly's bedroom door and didn't bother knocking. He found the girl lying down on the bed with her stomach and elbows pressed to the thin mattress and her legs crossed and raised. She has a book in her hands.

She looked at the direction of the door to find a serious looking Davin staring down at her. She quickly sat up and made her dress proper so he wouldn't see what's underneath.

Davin's nose was met with the sent of blood, he guessed that it belonged to the girl in the room. Was she hurt? But she looked fine to him. He walked closer to the bed and Lilly got off the bed and got on her feet. As he stepped closer, the sent of blood got stronger.

"Are you okay?" Asked Davin to Lilly. The girl just looked at him with her big round eyes. She looked uncomfortable with him standing only a few inches away from her. She wondered if Matilda told Davin what was going on.

"Have you gone deaf?" He said as he moved even closer. She took a couple of steps back until her back hit the wall behind her. Davin followed her steps and placed both his hands on either side of her head on the wall so she wouldn't move from there. "Are you planing on getting punished? You are not answering any of my questions."

"How can I answer your questions when you invade my personal space like this?" This man had no shame. How could he get this close to a girl who is not even his wife? Was this how shameless the lord of the seven kingdoms was? Thought Lilly.

"Well if you feel like I'm invading your space, why don't you move back." Davin knew she had nowhere to run to but he wanted to see her try to get out of the weird position he had her in.

"Why do you like making other people's lives hard?" That wasn't the reaction Davin expected but seing the serious look on the girl's face, he decided to move back. She still hadn't told him what was wrong so he decided to ask her again.

"Are you alright little birdie?" Oh that name still existed? Lilly thought he had forgotten it by now.

"I'm fine." Lilly wasn't comfortable with a blood sucking creature in her room in the condition she was in. She hoped he wouldn't smell her blood.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes I'm sure."

"Then why are you here lazily lying around doing nothing when there's a lot of things that need to be done in the mansion?" Davin was sure that the blood he smelled belonged to her but he couldn't see any sign of an open wound or cut.

It wasn't like he really wanted her to go out of her room to work, he just wanted her to tell him what was wrong. Why did he even care? She was just a weak little fragile human.

"I..Uhm I..I finished my chores." Even though Lilly hadn't taken a step out of her room, she saw this to be the most feasible lie she could come up with.

"I'm going to tell you the same thing I told Matilda." And with every word that came out, he took one step towards her "Big. Fat. Lie"

Lilly stared at him wide eyed. She wondered how he knew that she lied. Perhaps Matilda had told him?

"Look little birdie." Said Davin as he sat down on the small bed. "I can smell your blood from a mile away." This had Lilly's head turn to look his way. Was he serious? Could he really?

"Are you serious?" Lilly couldn't believe that what people said about the blood sucking creatures was true. They could really smell blood from a mile away. But Lilly didn't know that Davin was just exaggerating, he only got a whiff of her blood when he opened her door.

"Of course I'm serious. You think I'm lying?" Davin was amazed at how naive the girl was. A smile almost broke on his lips but he corrected himself before she could see it.

"If you don't tell me what's wrong right now, I'm going to have to check you myself to see where you've hurt yourself." Davin knew that she would rather tell him what's wrong than have him check her so he used that as a threat to get her talking.

After a few minutes of silence and hard thought she decided to tell him. Her lips parted to speak but no words came out. She was thinking of how to put it in words without embarrassing herself too much.

"I don't have all day birdie, I have guests to tend to in case you have forgotten."

"It's not something one would just blat out okay, its embarrassing." This had Davin confused. What would be so embarrassing about bleeding?

"Did you know that I have a hobby of making people tell embarrassing things?" Davin gave her a smile as he said this and it made her so upset. She wondered if his mother taught him any manners at all. "I'm just kidding birdie. Don't look so serious. Now tell me what's the matter?" His face looked serious this time around.

Lilly felt like she was going to pass out just by thinking of what she was supposed to tell him. She didn't think she had enough courage to do so. She took in a very deep breath readying herself.

"Well I..I"

"Yes, you?" encouraged Davin.

"I am..its the.. I'm having m,my.. Its my time o,of the month." Lilly looked anywhere but where Davin was.

"What does that mean?"Lilly's jaw almost dropped to the ground. This idiot didn't know what it meant for a girl to have their time of the month?

"The bloody hell? Are you kidding me?" Davin really had no idea what Lilly meant. He never paid attention to any girl or lady so he really didn't know. Lilly was pissed that she was embarrassed for nothing.

"It means I'm having my freaking period."

"Oh that explains the mood swings."
